  1. True, i had a turbosmart bov that was grub screwed, it never leaked, from what ive read on these, they cant be used with a maf sensor cause the valve comes open on idle then as soon as theres any drop in vacuum the valve shuts, sounds like no one has used one before ? Heres one in action.

  5. I had seen those turbos on ebay before u posted, it may be safe to say that ebay turbos are capable of packing a punch. But now everyone waits the reliabilty factor. 260kw is impressive.

  8. Cost more like $4k to do properly. Bit misleading implying all he needs is the turbo. So ur saying it costs about $3350 for labour, retune and miscellanious parts ? (custom dump, slight modded intake,new studs, and possibly custom lines)
  9. Buy this bad boy and max re-tune it on the stock pump and injectors.   11. I asked a simular question when i 1st came on this site about the cheaper turbos and soon got drilled about it. Obviously by putting one of these turbos on he would be running his engine at risk. However ive also watched a lot of vids of youtube with the yanks and there ebay turbo engine builds (mainly on honda civics). some last a year or so and some dont. Mafia also said to me that most of these turbo only last one or to runs on the dyno then they blow oil seals. If ur mate does decide to go ahead with this turbo then atleast msg other ebay users who have bought it and ask them what its like, preferably the buyers who bought it a while ago so they can tell u if the turbo is still running ok or shat itself

  13. I dont see that i did, $1500 isnt much. If i was to be taking the next step, id be spending a lil more than $1000 on a new turbo
  14. Easiest thing to do would be call the RTA and find out what u gotta do. Most likely get it passed inspection at an exhaust shop or mechanic then take the certificate back to the RTA to get it cleared ?
  15. Id prob forget the R34 turbo idea, Get urs rebuilt, add a manual boost controller, Its easy, theres a DIY guide on this site. Run 8-10 psi and enjoy the extra lil bit of power. Then u wont need to worry about another turbo for a long time unless u wanna upgrade

Im still pretty new on this site, let me answer this one lol Option 1 - upgraded turbo = Tune, do u have a aftermarket ecu, if not ur up for about $5000+ (new turbo, ecu and tune) Option 2 - rebuild stock turbo $800 approx ? Option 3 - second hand stock turbo in good cond $400 approx. How'd i do ?
  17. I bought my sister one of those Turbotech controllers for her WRX for about $30. It was spiking to 15psi then bleeding back to 10. Or u could always go with a simple set up like mine below. Turbosmart, comes with a bracket for a neater install.

  19. Do u think a TD06 20g internal gate kando would be too big for a 2L 4cyl engine, lag monster ?
  20. I use a Turbosmart T Boost on mine, cost me 50 bucks, its holding the boost where i want it at 8psi. Ps can i have ur screamer pipe lolz

  22. Rather than starting a new post, Just a question relating to this, if i upgraded my turbo on my R33 to a kando or hyperflow etc, and wanted to run about 12-15 psi. Still running a stock ecu, fuel pump and injectors. would a SAFC be enough to compensate the new turbo or would i need an after market ecu. Is it only the AFR that needs to be adjusted.
