It was good to see everyone out doing some quick times. I didnt feeling like carrying my camera around all day so i didnt get many photos, but it seemed like every time i went to get something out of my car there was another broken WRX parked next to it, so heres a few pics of WRXs.

Faxed the form on Wednesday afternoon. The fax at work has been playing up so let me know if it didn't come through. I deposit the money today. If you want a copy of the deposit slip let me know and i'll scan it and send it. Should be a great weekend. Is anyone doing the Maserati day as well?

I don't know about not pulling over but the 112 thing is true. It should be written in the instruction book for every mobile phone (might be just GSM). Its an international thing cause different countries have different emergency numbers, so anywhere you go 112 should work. Its about the only number you can call without a SIM card. You can also usually call it from a keypad locked phone so be careful not to accidently call it.

Anyone know if theres any places left? I faxed in an entry form today.

I took a few photos but mainly just of the crashed ferrari. Mustang sliding around the final corner. Roy's car being towed off the track. -
Aren't they made in germany by Opel and rebadged as Holden's for the Australian market?

I had my front calipers serviced last year by Race Brakes in Melbourne and they used a kit for an australian delivered s14 200sx. They said the calipers are basically the same and the parts are a lot cheaper. I might have a part number in a box in Melbourne somewhere. If any ones after the part number i can have a look when i get back to Melbourne next month. cheers, Tom.

I am interested in getting a set of these, i just have a few questions. I'm looking at these as an alternative to something like the whiteline spring+shock package and they will be used mainly for street driving with a few track days occasionally, so my main worry is that these will be too stiff for street use. In another thread SydneyKid suggested around 200lb rear and 350 lb front was good for a street R32 gtst however these are quite a bit harder with 336lb rear and 448 lb front. Would there be an additional cost on top of the prices listed to get them with different spring rates? eg do you need to buy the coilovers + 2 pairs of springs or can you just get them with a different spring rate for the same price? Geoff, how are you finding them for road use? would you recommend them for a car that probably isnt going to be on the track much? do you think softer springs would be better? Could anyone else with actually experience using these coilovers give there opinion of them for street use. Does anyone know what the whiteline spring rates are for the R32 gtst? What advantage is there to getting the HR over the HS? The main difference seems to be the pillow ball upper mount for camber adjustment but from what i've heard this will not allow camber adjustment on a skyline due to the double wishbone setup. I have a mate who also may be interested in a set for an R32 gtst. probably the HS.

Jax, Do you know what the compressor you got came out of? the clutch coil in my 90 gtst is stuffed so if i can get a replacement compressor cheap ill replace the compressor. Why did the bloke take it out? I've got no idea what the part no is for the one ive got in there at the moment. is there any way to tell with it still in the car cause its pretty hard to see anything down there. The coil apparently can be rewound. Chris from EnviroAir in Ashmore QLD told me about some place that rewinds them (i think in NSW), i think he said they charge something like $120 to rewind it. EnviroAir's number is (07)55970248 if you want to give them a call. You could also try the yellow pages under "Coil Winding Services". Theres 21 businesses listed nation wide. cheers, Tom.

The attached pdf should explain everything. I wouldn't recommend trying to hook up the rear amp, just rip it out and wire the speakers straight to the head unit (or external amp if you have one). All of the speakers are probably stuffed due to the age of the car so you might want to consider replacing them. If your replacing the speaker you may as well run new wiring too. cheers, Tom.

Sounds like the same problem i have on my R32 gtst, but mines probably worse than yours. I've been told i need: new front rack ends (inner tie rod ends) new rear rack ends (inner tie rod ends) new rear outer tie rod ends (hub ball joint) Apparently none of these parts are made by aftermarket suppliers so all have to come from Nissan. Nissan has said 2-3 weeks to get them from Japan. (I imagine GTRs would use the same parts so availability should be the same.) Quoted price for supply and fit of all the above parts + wheel alignment is $950. Seems expensive but i think its because of Nissan over charging for parts. Are these the sort of parts that your better off buying new or would it be worth trying to get them from wreckers. Also, will wreckers sell these sort of parts, or would i need to buy a whole rack just to get rack ends. Does anyone know if any other cars use the same parts. I thought maybe Z32 turbos or S13s with hicas. cheers, Tom

I've got an R33 service manual. Its 491 pages long and 149MB. I'd be happy to upload it somewhere but a lot of ports are blocked on the connection im using at the moment so i dont know where i'll be able to upload it too. If theres enough interest from people looking for a copy then i'll find somewhere to upload it. 3LIT3 FORS3: If you can pm me some server details i'll try uploading it for you. cheers, Tom.

Just found some more ac stuff in the R33 GTR service manual. It looks like it uses ECCS for water temp signal, engine rev signal and throttle sensor signal. See attached page from manual. I imagine R33 would be the same as R32. cheers, Tom.

Jax, The clutch coil in my R32 is also stuffed. Any chance you could tell me where you found a replacement. As for the wiring, im not sure why it goes through the ECCS but this diagram might be able to help you if you don't already have a copy. The diagram shows that it should connect to terminal 9 and 46 on the ECCS. Thanks, Tom.

treo, where have you seen aftermarket R32 tie rod ends. I've just started looking into this myself as i've been told i need new front inner tie rod ends and new rear inner and outer tie rod ends. The place that was looking at the car for me said they couldn't find any aftermarket parts and Nissan wanted to charge them a fortune to have some imported from Japan. I've been looking for other cars that would use the same ends as the R32 but haven't got far yet. I think R32s might be the same as S13s and possibly Z32s. From what i've read R33s are similar to S14s and R34s are similar to S15s. Sorry i cant give you a more definite answer but if i find anything while looking into the R32 stuff i'll let you know. If anyone knows about what will work in an R32 please let me know. Also, would this thread be better suited to the suspension or general maintenance section. cheers, Tom

Its not the greatest quality but here is a diagram of the fuse box. As for the buzzing noise at speed thing i dont get it but i think a mate does in his auto R32. Tom.

Let me start out by saying i don't know much about air con so if i say something stupid please correct me. I've got a problem with the air con in my 90 R32 GTS-t. It keeps blowing one of the air con fuses (the one on the top row 4 from the right). When you turn the air con on the rev drop a bit then the fuse blows. I've spoken to a couple of people about it and both have told me it's probably the clutch in the compressor. The guy i spoke to today said the only 2 things that draw current are the fan and the clutch. He said to disconnect the fan and see if it still blows. Unfortunitely it does so it looks like its probably the clutch. He said the clutch cant be replaced and that the compressor would need to be replaced. So, does all this sound right? Do all skylines use the same compressor eg. can i get a compressor off a wrecked R33 or GTR. How much should I expect to pay for a second hand compressor and how much to have the old one removed and new one fitted (I imagine a regas would be needed also). I want to get this sorted out as soon as possible as ill be in Queensland for the next few months and its starting to get a bit warm. Thanks, Tom.

Hey guys, I had a great day and would recommend this event to anyone who hasn't been on the track before or to anyone who just want to learn the sandown layout. Thanks to all the guys for there advice and help on the day and to NDSOC for holding a excellent event. A big thanks to Snowman for his help and for showing me how I should be driving. I just wish I'd got Snowman to drive my car at the start of the day instead of the end, I learnt so much about what i was doing wrong in those few laps with an experience driver behind the wheel, but didn't get a chance to go out and have another try. Has anyone got more pics?

If the passenger seat is pushed as far back as it goes its hard to get to but otherwise its easy to reach. As pic 3 & 4 show with the seat back the extinguisher isn't covered, its only if you push the seat right back that it covers it. I would have thought the extinguisher in front of the seat would be the same cause with the seat moved forward it would be covered. Is it likely to be a problem? What can i do on the day if they dont like it? I think it would be easier to reach than if it were in the passenger footwell against the door sill where ronin09 was planning on putting his.

Opinions: Is this an old mans car?

The 600s (eg SL600, CL600) are also twin turbo. But the 600s are only 5.5 litre with about 500hp and 800nm torque.
