  1. !!!!! I just had a look. That's not cool. Me and Jess have already bought the tickets to Japan so I don't have a spare $5k. I'm gonna have to miss out on that engine. In the process of starting to sell most of my engine bits that I won't be needing but yeah unless I manage to make 5k ASAP I don't think it'll happen Thanks heaps for the heads up Richard. If you need any random rb26 bits let me know
  2. LOL big bird, thats awesome. I saw you wave at the last second and didn't have time to wave back lol my bad
  3. thats just not cool. i felt pretty similar when my 32 gts got stolen earlier this year. happy to help in any way i can
  4. spotted a yellow 34 gtt heading towards tuggers on drakeford just now. i think they waved but i didn't see it til too late and didn't have time to wave back my bad was distracted by the convo/argument me and jess were having about time travel haha
  5. Haha the thought has crossed my mind but it's probably not as bad as I make it sound. Being the boss and having minions like I do makes it a lot easier haha
  6. My understanding is that once the car is written off you have a chance to buy the wreck back off the insurance company, so it's not free, can be expensive to do sometimes coz insurance companies will put a rediculous price on it
  7. Lol Spotted zebra in his soup coming out of banks at about 830 this morning.....unless there's another A70 in banks. Zebra if you see this I managed to dig up that rear demister switch for you
  8. After working 6 days straight including Christmas eve, I've got Christmas eve night with Jess's family and then Christmas day with my family. Gonna be sooooo full of dead animal and alcohol. Gonna be good
  9. Lol I honestly have no idea. If I do I'll make sure that it and the springs don't go to scrap
  10. Hahaha was wondering if you had. It's still at my parents place but I have to get rid of it this week if possible. Was gonna hold onto the springs for you anyway but if you need anything else will have to sort out a good time to get your salvage on asap
  11. Richard I really wish it was me but unfortunately I was to late. By the time I saw the add the engine was already gone Thanks heaps for keeping an eye out though
  12. Sorry that probably came across as a bit harsh lol was just confirming the asking price. Cheers
  13. How many km's on the engine? Had a compression test done? Where are you located?
  14. Sounds like a really nice 34, and a very decent price. Good luck dude
  15. Don't worry, right now my 32 gts (no T lol) is a billion times faster than the gtr haha
  16. Haha I can deal with that. As soon as the engines back in the car you won't be able to catch me mwahahaha
  17. Out of curiosity, I know you're after a stock bottom end but would you been keen on a bare N1 block for short motor No. 1 including the Tomei pump with cash your way? Can't commit to anything right now but trying to see if I can make it work lol Cheers, Drew
  18. Cheers mate, Yeah I've seen those. Didn't know they were still for sale though. Would make things a hell of a lot cheaper haha but we've already bought the tickets to Japan so I don't have spare cash to buy one of these
  19. Lol sounds like it would have been an epic stack. I'm 24 and my right knee is destroyed from my many rollerblading fails. I guess us young guys aren't as bulletproof as we'd like to think hey haha
  20. These old 32R's are becoming almost ridiculously expensive. It's a real shame. I spent most of this year looking for the perfect one and 2 months ago I thought I'd found it. I bought an 89 model that had had a complete resto done. New paint, new interior and a rebuilt engine with quality parts. Flew from Canberra to Melbourne to go check it out. Had it gone over with a fine tooth comb and everything came back sweet so I ended up driving it back to Canberra with a proud feeling of gtr ownership. Unfortunately the next day (less than 36 hours of ownership) it decided to spin a bearing. At first it was very discouraging as you can imagine. The engine is out and completely stripped and the things we found inside were borderline horrorfying. Extremely shotty workmanship and so many corners cut during the rebuild. Learn from my mistake if buying one that's had a rebuild. It's safe to say I will never be dealing with the shop that did it. On the plus side in a few months I'll begin the process of a rebuild built by the shop I want to do it and knowing exactly what parts go into it. By the time it's back on the road I will have spent close to 50k I reckon which definitely makes me wish I had bought a 34 R. But I love the 32 and always will over the 34. It's pretty much inevitable these days that if you buy a 32R it will end up putting an extremely big hole in your wallet. Have to keep anything that could possibly go wrong in mind bcoz with their age something will almost certainly go wrong. If you're as crazy as I am then I say go for it. But if you're set on a 32 buy a shell Nd build the engine yourself
  21. The cold stuff you just described sounds exactly like my 32 gts when it's cold. So shit to drive lol
  22. Quick update: So turns out how big an rb26 is in my head and how big it is in real life is completely different haha. Took dads falcon out to pick up everything this morning and only just managed to get everything except the block into the car lol. So will have to sort something else out to grab the block later on. It's getting a little bit exciting now. Once everything is home I'll start pulling apart everything that we're not going to be using and selling it off. From there the parts collecting will begin!
