  1. Are you in Melbourne?
  2. Sorry mate can't help you much with the specs. All I know is that they were match ported to the plenum and exhaust manifold, and the engine builder modifies the head someway. The cams he uses he said is his own grind. Sorry mate. All I did was experience a few different setups and then said build me that one... which he did.
  3. Use rust neutralizer or converter before you touch it up to stop any rust from spreading
  4. Go for a drive in different setups that your engine builder has done, see what you like and get him to build it. Best way to do it hands down and don't rely on other people's opinions on drivability and lag...your opinion is the only one that counts.
  5. That won't work in all situations. You're coming out of a second gear corner at 4000 rpm with a Horrible setup like RS's on a 2.6. You can't tell me you're gonna go back to first! So you plant your foot and choo choo all the way up the hill, while your mate with -9's blasts past you like you're standing still. We are talking about -5s on a built and cammed 26 not rs's that won't be at their peak at 4k.
  6. Anyway we are getting into the old forum fight of the definition of laggy setup. Each to their own on this one. I think the best advice is experiencing different setups to see what your happy with. Me personally love the built, cammed, -5 RB26 Setup. Best of both worlds and as my engine builder said, 'the 26s sweet spot'. I drive it daily and love that it's off boost in traffic and starts coming on at a higher rev range. I would hate boost coming on too early. BUT when I want to drive the car then I hold it between 4 and 7-8 and she is a rocket and no lag when it matters. My other car is a HSV LS2 with old school lumpiness and a hi stall. Again in traffic she purrs under stall with low torque to the wheels but when asked to she will flash to 4k and all hell will break loose. Best of both world with both Setups in my opinion.
  7. Each to their own, but I couldn't think of anything worse... Waiting for your engine to make some meaningful grunt while a better setup package blasts into the sunset! Change gears
  8. WAITING for aggressive boost is half the fun.
  9. What ever the engine builder recommends for his build. I leave that to the RB masters. As long as the car does what I want it to do, the engine builder can put whatever Cam he wants. All I know is that with standard cams people say it's laggy, but personally I don't mind lag. He he he.
  10. Everyone had previously recommended not to go with -5s on a 2.6.. Why do you recommend otherwise? Have you driven or been in a built, cammed 26 with -5s pushing around 400kws?
  11. Did I really win!!! Do I get an Elvis Presley badge. :-). With the theory about tuned exhaust, I think front pipe diameter is more critical than anything else to get those gases out.
  12. 3.5 like everyone else uses because it's obviously proven to work. Most important part of the Setup that really effects response is the manifold design the change the exhaust gas velocities, volumes and pressures BEFORE the turbo. Once the gasses have done their job you need to get them out as fast as you can so not to interfere with the incoming gasses. That the theory anyway.
  13. You want NO exhaust back pressure in forced induction..... period, end of story. Small NA engines different story. Large NA engines the average Jo wouldn't be able to tell the difference because the is so much torque to begin with. Secondly if you are rebuilding your engine put performance cams in it and run -5s. Best all round setup for response and HP in a 26.
  14. Just did my sigma the other day. chicks froth all over it at maccas Its so cool I get looks all day. Look at the stretch on the rims....amazing the difference saucepan lids make. Next mod is a PA systems so i can play blowoff sounds while I drive. Sorry couldn't help myself......
  15. Do what you want mate. its your car and its your creativity. If people don't like it tell them to look in the mirror and admire their own ugliness. Just remember for every knocker there is someone that admires it. Make sure you post up some pics mate so we can admire your creation. Like this style that they did in Germany.
  16. Do something like this it looks cool
  17. Waxed Sorry not the best pic.
  18. Wax won't gloss them just put a slight sheen on them but they will still be matte. Try it and you don't like it just use some wax and grease remover. But they will still be matte.
  19. No probs mate. How effective are they. Thinking of make one out of aluminium. Got the dimensions from here.
  20. My Original LMGT1s with original stickers.

  22. Best thing to do with wheel cleaner is throw it out. Too caustic, too harsh and not needed. It will eventually pit your wheel's finish and erode your caliper paint. I have found a normal carwash soap on a sponge and a soft tooth brush for the hard to get places is enough and once a month using a light cutter or polish with a wax. Result will be showroom rims year after year. With wheel cleaner after 6 months your rims will look crap but you won't notice because the damage process is slow.
