  1. Hi guys I'm having a diff clearance to go GTR rear. Hence I am negotiable on prices and will look for trade or swap on GTR rear axles, hubs, diff, diff centres, half shafts etc. Ideally chasing a GTS4 4.375 diff. 1 x 4.636 - R200 Kazz 2-way. Shimmed super tight and professionally assembled in Melbourne by previous owner. In good condition and never had any issues. 5 x 1 and Non ABS. - $900 1 x 4.9 - R200. This is only a weldy, but has been properly welded and assembled. 5 x 1 and Non ABS - $800 As everyone knows these ratios are super hard to get and the price of the 4.9 reflects the going rate for just 4.9 crown wheel and pinions. Willing to post and have nothing to hide, I have both 4 and 2 bolt rear hats, so can sell with either. Location - Launceston, Tasmania. But postage is no issue and looks to be around $100 for VIC/NSW Pictures on request, but honestly these are diffs guys. Thanks Brodie Maher
  2. Got a Dyno grpah? Anyone used the PTE 6062 Gen 2 yet? I'm currently converting from Sr20det to Vet and seems to fit the bill nicely between the 58 and 62 series range, (Currently making 410rwkw on a 5858) Kinda surprising the Gen 2 6062 is rated 50hp higher than the Gen 1 6262
  3. Item: Brand New, Unused Garret Gtx 3071r Description: Garret Gtx 3071r T3 0.63 rear Price: $1600 Posted (Rrp is $2300) Location: Launceston, Tasmania Yes, Willing to post? Yes, Included in price Contact: 0409 194 331
  4. Hks 2530 is mucch smaller than a gtx3071 so it isn't really comparable. A gtrs is a bolt on style turbo, two bolt inlet, internal wastegate and t2 flange. It depends what you are trying to compare. A t3 twin scroll externally gated gtx3071r with 4" inlet is a lot more of a serious turbo and will take a lot more mods to fit. I would expect their to be reasonable gains but I'm not an rb20 guru, but you are comparing a gtrs and 2530 too a much more serious setup. What are your current mods and what are you really trying to achieve?
  5. Pretty sure it's only ever seen 600kw once on the track otherwise it's only on low boost (500kw) and either way doesn't take away from the fact it is a very well engineered engine package. I don't have any dyno sheets sorry. But it uses a precision 6466, 25neo head (for vct), drop in cams and high compression.
  6. Here in Tas our fastest skyline, which is similar paced to a current spec V8 Supercar, is still a 2.6 and a gts. It'll depend on all other components and matching their efficiency together to get a desired result. With this skyline, being gts it struggled with putting power down so the 2.6 was desirable to get linear power and to minimise torque while still making big horsepower.
  7. Thanks for all of the pictures and ideas guys, It seems since it is a pressure system the angle doesn't greatly affect the ability to hold or vent boost, but isn't giving the best performance, but realistically my biggest issue is going to be space. Obviously the shorter the runner to the waste gate the better, but should that be a priority over angle?
  8. How have you managed to mount the gate like that on a standard low mount? I have got a mate who is going to weld onto the cast housing but he only wants to weld on a 90" off the housing to ensure its strong and to allow the tig to get into there, which is going to make it hard to not impede the flow some what. The other issue is my manifold is top mount, ideally to limit impeding flow i could come somewhere off where the housing starts to curl around after the straight to the flange, but i might be limited by space. So you have ran this and have no problems? Because it seems to go in an opposite direction to the flow?
  9. Hi guys, There doesn't seem to be a great deal of information how best to mount an external gate off the exhaust housing. I recently finished building a steam pipe manifold for my SR and deliberately didn't include an external gate as it makes the most sense to me to evenly bleed the exhaust gases from the highest pressure point, which would be the exhaust housing, plus i wanted to be a little different. It doesn't seem to be all that common to mount the external gate off the housing, i am curious to how far i around on the housing i should weld it onto and also which way to face the pipe. A lot of the housing's i have seen face the pipe in the same direction to gas flow of the housing, but shouldnt the gate be mounted at a 90 so that it isnt the easiest path for the gases to travel? Thanks

  13. Item is Expression Of Interest Item: Advan TcII 17 X 8.5 +25, 17 x 9.5 +24 with Pirelli P7 17/50/205 front tyres and Good Year F1 all season 17/45/225 on the rear (Carbon sidewall) Location: Launceston, Tasmania. Although I am regularly in Victoria for business and family commitments. Item Condition: Rim condition is great as can be seen in the photos or all four rims, a few nicks here and there but over all condition is great. Front Tyres have around 60% tread left Rear Tyres have around 95% (only 2 weeks old) Reason for Selling: Would prefer 18's Price and Conditions: $2200 Neg for tyres and rims. But will consider reasonable swaps (Te37, Ce28n Etc) Extra Info Rims are ultra lightweight being Magnesium, One piece and hollow spoke. These Rims are rare and I'm not in a big hurry to sell but will sell for the right price and will swap for the right set of wheels, sooo show me what you've got. I would prefer to go wider in the front 18, 9.5 +15. These are off my S15 and fit well with a minor guard roll. Photos

  15. There are way to many factors here. Your never going to be able to drive a 800Hp GTS on Hard semi slicks... Obviously the class you want to run in will always be the biggest factor. Say you do want a high HP GTS to run in Time attack with Semi-Slicks, The GTS will obviously be struggling with corner exit and to help with this and the over-all drivability of the car you will have to make it squat, move around and soft. In turn reducing the good entry and mid corner speed you have just gained through the RWD platform and even still its going to be a handful, with half the amount of off the corner grip available in a GTR. When setting up a car you can only ever have two of the 3 aspects of a corner (Entry - Mid - Exit), corner exit should always be once of the chosen traits of the car. This will even be a more important trait of a car on semi-slicks because its the hardest trait to set a car up for with minimal grip, hence the domination of 4WD cars in the time attack series. Its interesting many people say 4WD induces understeer, i believe this is a common misconception, possibly caused by bad driving, bad setup, a combination of both or just the wrong style of driving suited best for a 4WD car. Mark Skaife described the Winfield R32 GTR to have the best turn in out of any car he has ever driven, it must also be noted that this car had minimal aero; go figure. I'm also very doubtful if the GTS will weigh much less than a GTR, with high horsepower applications you will need a GTR rear end, Holinger Box, a solid tail shaft and diff. Brad Sherriffs R32 GTS in race spec, even fully lightened, Carbon Doors Etc, weighs the best part of 1350Kg There has also been mention of the GT500 cars being RWD, firstly its a requirement, secondly; you must remember in GT500 the cars must be only 500hp and run slicks, making mechanical off the corner grip not the biggest of issues. These cars are also driven by some of the most experienced, accurate, precise and talented drivers in the world. I'm very doubtful that many drivers would have the talent to make a high horsepower GTS fast. Yes a GTS has a lot of Pros, Reliability, Easier setups, cheaper Etc but for outright speed GTR will always dominate.
