  1. > I need to be able to do second gear burnouts Good to see you've got your priorities straight
  2. Is WEAPN running an RB26? I didn't know that. I haven't actually met him, but I have seen him driving around Newcastle with GTR badges on a GTS. I was told that it was just badging, but it is good to hear that he has a GTR engine to go with the badges.
  3. Thanks ex-static, it felt like it made a huge difference. Even at stock boost. The weird thing was that I was told it would make my turbo come on boost slower because of all the extra piping, but it did the exact opposite somehow. Maybe it is because the old piping was restrictive or something? It cost me $2000 from Unique Autosports. I felt it was better to spend the extra $300 or $400 to get an HKS kit. I'm sure you can get a kit equally as good elsewhere for far less. After all, UAS are not known for their cheap prices.
  4. The 400R was a special GTR with 400hp that Nismo made. It had a big FMIC in it, so putting it on a GTS with a FMIC should be no trouble. I have no idea if you'll be cutting your bar, but I'd say your chances aren't too good.
  5. I've got a 400R front bar and even with that it was a tight fit. I'd say you'll be cutting yours if it is the stock series 1 one. It did end up fitting though, but I am thinking of cutting a bit off the back so I can put some mesh in front of it. The stones are killing the fins.
  6. BTW I've always wondered about this - how do you guys tune your bleed valves? Do you take it for a thrash and tune it while you're moving or what? I mean you can't really just sit in your garage in neutral and do it because you won't get full boost.
  7. I should add that I had an HKS type S kit that had Japanese instructions too, and just from the pictures we could work it out. Just give it a go and if you screw up, you can always put the old one back on.
  8. I have trouble opening my bonnet and even I could install an intercooler. I just got a few mates around and we installed it. Very simple. Check out some of the pics I took while we were installing it in my garage. www.ozemail.com.au/~caddies
  9. ALHAIL is from Newcastle I think. I saw him at a mini cruise we had around Newy. It's one of the better looking skylines I've seen and it has a damn loud exhaust. The clear lights definitely made it stand out, but as everyone else is saying, I'd never get rid of my stovelights.
  10. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing your R fly at Oran. My car will look like your festiva and I don't consider mine slow
  11. Yeah I agree. If the R33 was made at the same time as the R34, so age was taken out of the equation, I'd buy the R33. I prefer the smooth lines of it. I still like the R34 though, it's just the back of it I don't like as much as the R33. The front - well I like both.
  12. Yeah I saw that too. I wouldn't mind one of them...
  13. I thought most Jap cars did have side intrusion bars, but not all do. ie there's no law saying they have to, but they do anyway. I'd swear my R33 didn't have to have them installed when I brought it in, but I could be wrong.
  14. Well it depends on what boost you want to see I suppose. I've seen them in all sorts of spots e.g. Before the intercooler and after. So you can see what sort of boost the turbo sees or other parts.
  15. Yeah I saw a XD/XF (or one of the X series Falcons - they all look the same to me) with a GTR badge on it. Very sad. BTW Isn't that pic a Mustang?
  16. I probably should mention that 950° is at full throttle for like a minute straight. That is hardly normal driving. It's between 650° and 800° for normal usage. As per usual, the 950° was done on a private road
  17. I have taken my RB25DET up to 950°C and that was flat out. I don't know how long it can take it at that temp though. It certainly didn't hurt it I don't think.
  18. Thanks Paul, That's right about the price I wanted to pay.
  19. Does anyone know a cheap motel I could stay at that is near Oran Park? I just thought I'd check to see if anyone knows one before I go and do the whole phone book thing. Cheers, Michael
  20. I've just bought a GFB Hybrid. It's convertible from two trumpets (it actually becomes a Bovus Maximus if you do this), one trumpet and a plumbback hose (so you don't get stalling and running rich probs) or two hoses for silent operation. BTW The 2 hose one is not mentioned on their site, but you can do it with a bit of fancy tubing. That was the whole reason I bought it, so I could convert it from noisy to quiet.
  21. haha yeah I know what you mean. I'm keeping my one secret until I buy it or decide not to, then I'll release it to the public so others can make a mint off it
  22. I considered SKYLYN too. In fact that was one plate I was considering buying and selling off. I get it, so I suppose other ppl would too. BTW what sells for more a black on white or black on yellow plate?
  23. Definitely HYP38U. I say that because I was too cheap to get a custom I'm considering replacing my plate with a custom, as I've got a few ideas for a plate, but I would actually prefer to get a few plates and sell them off. I see a fair few plates for sale in the paper for a few $K but I honestly have trouble believing that ppl pay that much money for one. If it's the case, I'll definitely get the plates I'm thinking of. Anyone here sold their plates for a bit of cash?
  24. I just received a notification email saying [ryan] wrote a message in this thread, but nothing has appeared. Is it just my browser screwing up or is there no new message?
  25. Black33, The article I read said it filtered very well, and since it was a dry filter, it wouldn't get oil on your AFM. It certainly isn't a BAD filter. I think all the filters mentioned are all the best of the best, so it isn't like you're tying a handkerchief over the inlet pipe or anything.
