  1. What Ben said David. Re bleed the cooling system. Corrections may have to be made due to the changed heights of bleed points (if any). Radiator cap could be a possibility as Callan stated, but would have shown an issue previously.
  2. Marc, there is a little thing commonly know as 'overlap or scavenge'. Most engines utilize this phase/process to facilitate getting exhaust gasses out quicker & getting a better cylinder fill. Nearly all camshafts have an overlap period. So the intake & exhaust valves are open at the same time, to some degree. So it's completely plausible for an engine to run backwards depending on the overlap period & injection timing, & if it happens on 1 cylinder, it will happen on all. Mythbusters will confirm this.........
  3. I'm a local.
  4. ^ as above. Most likely AAC or VAC leak.
  5. In the last month, 100k service, timing belt, C & C seals, idler & tensioner, front upper camber arms, full detail, 12 months rego.
  6. Hahahahaha RB26 Honda engine!
  7. Never ever turn an engine backwards (anti - clockwise)! When fitting the tensioner, you need to wind up the spring so that after you have fitted the belt & release the tensioner BEFORE winding the engine over (clockwise) by hand, you actually already have spring tension applying force on the belt. The whole purpose of winding the engine over (clockwise) is remove any slack from the installation process before torquing the bolt.
  8. That's as low as I'm going. I already have my project sitting in the driveway & can't do anything with it till I sell the wagon
  9. Unichip are junk. I've seen them loose memory & hey presto, car won't start. Nice pick up Em!
  10. Belts are a bit hard to get on, abit harder when they are new. You have to get them started on each sprocket, idler & then tensioner, then evenly push the belt on all the way around, it's the easiest way. If you have doubts, before turning the engine over, get a mirror & visually sight that crank & cam marks are lined up. Then, slip the lower cover on & sit the balancer on the crank nose by hand & see if your marks line up. Then if all good, release your tensioner, bar the engine over 2 revolutions, re-check all 3 marks. If it's good, then hold the eccentric in that position with an allen key (please, do not add more tension, your only causing premature stretch in the belt & loading the idler & tensioner bearings unnecessarily!) & torque up the bolt. If your in Sydney I could come & have a look.
  11. $10K

  15. Spotted an M35 Axis parked at Bathurst Maccas when we pulled in. Chatted to the owner! Nice chance coincidence!!!
  16. Skylea - sounds just as gay as stagea (c'mon, the unicorns make the name gay!?!). What image would go with the name? Love the pic in the OP. it would have to be done REALLY well in the flesh though.
  17. No auto lights feature. Just about the only stock option I don't have!!!
  18. Just weird I guess, The only far out weird thing I'm thinking of is a frequency issue between the lights & a particular radio station. It is possible, as frequencies in certain areas CAN affect electrical operation. On Ben's car, if it only happens when a particular station/band is being used, then when he indicates, if there is a slight resistance (& frequency) change to the operating headlight circuit at the stalk that is very close to that of the radio, then interference MAY occur. It's weird, I know, but in my years in dealerships, I've seen ALOT of weird stuff, & frequency interruption is one of them!
  19. CHASER? TRAITOR! BURN BURN BURN!!! Chasers are great cars! I was tossing up between a Chaser & an Aristo for abit. There are no serious buyers around, who will pay what it is worth anyway! Think I'm going to keep it, do afew more mods & find another way into my other planned project. Are you going to the AGM on Sunday?
  20. Ben, does it happen on a particular station or band?
