  1. The splice job looks fine.. Its not like i have just installed the AFM, it was on the car fine and i just removed and reinstalled it and now its having problems.. And i thought that trying to start with the afm unplugged would eliminate any afm problem?
  2. Oh ok, I have an Apexi Power FC and it has been dyno tuned.
  3. Im not sure what you're saying? Im actually not sure what ECU it has, it already had the Z32 AFM on it when i bought it, and never had any problems so im assuming it it was installed correctly.. It must be from something i have done when removing the afm
  4. I am positive that there is nothing left in the intake.. And i thought that trying to start with the disconnected afm would eliminate any problems from there
  5. Hi, I have a R34 Gtt with a Z32 AFM, I removed my AFM and found that the mesh on the back of it was badly damaged, so i removed it all together (The rear mesh only, front mesh is fine), i also sprayed some Electra-Clean spray on the AFM wires and screen to clean it. I reinstalled the afm and now the car will not run.. It starts and dies almost instantly, if i use any throttle it dies even quicker.. To remove and install it i had to remove a few hoses going to the inter cooler, but i have checked them all and they don't seem like they are leaking.. I have tried starting it with the AFM disconnected and it was the same.. I am thinking that i have either damaged the AFM with the electra-clean (Although it is made for cleaning electrical components??) Or that i have a boost leak, although it would have to be very bad for it to cause the car to not even idle.
  6. If i was to get the GTR i would be removing the HICAS system, as well as considering removing the 4wd, or i was going to see if it is possible to actively switch between 4wd and rwd, .. but having never driven a 4wd sports car i was going to look into it further,. thanks for all the input so far
  7. Thanks for the responses. I understand that on a 6 speed, 6th is still usually the only overdrive gear, but i thought the overall ratio would still be a fair bit taller.. Most of my mates and family follow in the "Big aussie 6's and 8's" that rev so low at highway speeds, which is what had me concerned about my type of car cruising at their redline
  8. Hi, Bit of background, Atm i have a N/A Mkiv Supra, I had always wanted a supra but have found that it is too space limited and impractical.. So i'm converting to the darkside and considering a skyline , which i had limited down to either a R33 GTR or R34 GTS (But that's another discussion). I get off my P's in 12 months so was looking to buy one within that time frame, and also having a bombadore daily until i'm on my opens. Because i've always been a supra man my skyline knowledge isnt that great but i have been doing my reading, and from what i can find the only 6 Speed skyline was the R34 GTR? At the time that i found this out i was a little crushed, and it seemed like a clear deal breaker for team skyline, but i've been thinking about it and its still really the only car that comes close to all my criteria.. (room for 4, rwd, manual, aesthetically pleasing, Sub 50K, and not a turbo Taxi AKA XR6T etc..) The car wont be a daily driver, but it will certainly get driven a lot, a holiday interstate regularly.. I believe my supra sits on ~2900 RPM at 100km/h, which is a little high for my liking, but it also is only a 5 speed.. I have done a little reading and believe the R33 GTR sits at about the same at that speed, but its also a completely different motor that i'm not familiar with.. My biggest concerns about having the motor rev at 3k + for 8+ hours were wear on the motor, and excess fuel usage (Not biggest concern but still at the back of my mind).. Just after a little input about how the 5speed gearing is, and what BPU Skylines are like on fuel and reliability (Remembering im used to the bulletproof 2j )
