  1. sweet i just thought i heard something about the tow cars weight having to be something to be able to tow a big load like trailer & car... i've done it before using a r31 hehe... so i didnt have doubts about the stagea, just wondering if its legal :S thanks
  2. thanks for the info guys and girls - much appreciated, another question is are these legally allowed to tow car trailers and cars on them? (my ceffy drift car) thanks
  3. hi there thinking of getting a stagea in the near future, and would rather import one than source one here in aus. i'm from SA, and i think i heard that only places in QLD do compliance for stagea's??? i'm guessing that's where the car will land anyway upon arrival, so who does compliance and roughly how much is a basic compliance on them? looking at a 97 series 1, rb25det auto and is there anything else i should know about them? common problems etc? ( currently have a rb24 cefiro with 25box etc... so any other stuff besides basic stuff about rb's) thanks -Matt
  4. viva garage do carbon cefiro bonnets and boot lids!!! www.vivagarage.com
  5. consider swap for excellent condition hks 2530?
  6. running a hks 2530 on it still but got issue's somewhere power seems 'restricted' to around 180-190rwkw !!! the torque is noticeable but have to sort this out now that i have time the 2530 has made 236rwkw on a stock rb20 motor so would've though similar peak power with added low/midrange... hmmm
  7. simon just won first round of Super Drift at mallala in his ceffy well done.
  8. yes been very busy getting ready for Super Drift oil cooler and relocator kit radiator flushed and new top new gauges rb24 motor new tomei rings/ 1.2mm gasket / new bearings / 82mm tomei forged pistons 17x8,9 drif teks, running 235/45/17 wanli rear new uras kit / paint sparco seat rear camber arms rear strut bar ummm thats off the top of my head anyway :S
  9. yes kansai have one atm - www.kansaiautomotive.com - its on the white ceffy atm. viva's CF ones arent vented, same as oem shape.
  10. happy snap .... oh and now rb24 motor with tomei forged pistons / 1.2mm tomei headgasket etc...
  11. O K - well had the clutch checked out turns out it was buggered :S now i am running the new xtreme 'drift' clutch with thrustbearing provided, have just done 900km's and its not slipping!!! so this means motor is now run in also BUT - i was told that once the clutch is worn in the fork will want to move toward the slave moreso :S and that i didnt have enough play in the fork atm (so need a shorter pivot ball) . like i said, just done 900km's and its not slipping... has anyone else heard anything like this?
  12. but this section is a haven of peace. and no BS... KONECT get some pics of your car sliding...NOW!
  13. $40??? thats awesome was going to trial a different carrier tomorrow but i may do what you did and take my existing carrier down with the clutch and the thrustbearing and see what they say... sorry i forgot did u say you had a twin plate? OS ? if so did they just give you the equivalent thrustbearing to match? thanks -Matt
  14. the saga continues :S going to take it down tomorrow and trial with a different (shorter carrier) also - as i have heard from other pple that this does make a difference ALSO that rb20 box carriers are interchangable ? :S guess i'll find that one out...lol... i totally agree with u bigsully - but its only slipping in 4th and 5th gear atm as i'm running no boost / no load/ under 3000rpm (running in new rings and bearings) BUT its not a daily car so just down to the workshop. *sighs...
  15. spoken to a couple more people and have also been told that in some cases you need to get an alternative carrier (from another rb25) as some are longer than others... person i talked to - had same symptoms as mine - just load it up and it would slip - changed the carrier to a shorter one and it was A OK!... :S i'm getting a headache...
  16. or you could get some solid engine mounts? this would help with your situation a little?
  17. thanks cubes yep i am running standard fork / slave to suit the rb25 box had to change the pivot pall as we originally had the standard one in there and it wasnt long enough and the fork had exess play/movement the thrustbearing also it could be i guess, but just using the ones that were given when buying the nismo clutch (NOW using the tilton twin plate) i'm really leaning to stocking the clutch out / and stock thrustbearing / pivot ball just to see if it drives A OK and doesnt slip at least this would then eliminate either problem with 'BOX' or 'CLUTCH'... and if it is ok with stocker maybe buy a single plate 6 puck new... at least then there'll be no issues with it ----- BL4ck32 i am interested to hear more about the thrustbearing issue also thanks -Matt
  18. yep i thought water temp should be around that oil pressure - was at around 80 i think... oil temp - was at like 40-50deg but that was no thrash and just around the block for 2 min also assuming that if there's oil leaking (not that there is atm) i will have a drop in oil pressure? thanks -Matt
  19. hi there just installed some autogauge smoked - oil pressure / oil temp / water temp gauges. i'm just curious as to what they should all be reading on idle and on warm motor and driving? i'm guessing oil temp warm would be around 70deg - ish? and water temp at around 80deg would be ideal? thanks -Matt
  20. hi guys i'm a victim of blowing the rb20box - with 230rwkw clutched it in 3rd and 3rd exploded :S i've done a 25box conversion and having major issues with clutch slipping, if anyone has any advice please read my thread and some feedback http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=117570 thanks -Matt
  21. anyone else have any ideas??? was either thinking of replacing with a stock rb20det clutch just to see if that drives ok - then it will tell us if its either the wrong clutch (the twin plate) for the rb20det / rb25det gearbox setup; OR its in the actual motor/box setup :S
  22. thanks for the info guys BTW - it is a series 1 rb25 gearbox also so that should be ok. and could it be possible that the master cylinder (changed to 33 slave cylinder) would need to be changed also? Bl4ck 32 - so how can you tell what the clutch is meant for what type of motor? - have changed to a longer pivot ball and slave pin was sitting on the fork not too much but but still applying some tension - ok - does this need to be changed with a standard clutch replacement also? - the thrustbearings where changed previously with the old nismo gmax clutch, and it is still the same one - smaller than standard - that is being used on this tilton twin plate thanks -matt
  23. ok are rb20 / 25 / 26 clutches all interchangeable? and is there something i've forgotten in the rb25 box conversion (possibly inside the bellhousing or something)?? it drives around but the clutch just slips under load!!! ...since i have done a rb25 gearbox conversion on my cefiro (rb20det) i have had issues with clutches - firstly was a nismo gmax (2nd hand) but was working fine before conversion (blew the 20 box!!). since installing this rb25 gearbox had numerous problems getting it right - and the clutch not slipping... NOW i had a tilton twin plate fitted as the other clutch was slipping - and same again - minimal load / 0 boost / under 3000rpm and the clutch slips (running motor in so DEFINITELY no thrash/big load up) had the box in and out changing things on it - changed the pivot ball to a longer one, as the clutch fork had play before and not even touching the slave cyl... but now the pin sits up on the fork nicely cut the back of the carrier inside (i think thats what it was about 4mm) the bellhousing move it back a little as it was almost like the thrustbearing was constantly touching the fins (or front of the clutch) the clutch pedal only has about 10-15% of the full pedal's worth that actually is being used to engage - disengage the clutch rb25 box bolted straight up to rb20 motor - lengths were the same - gear lever comes out the transtunnel in the right spot etc... WHAT THE HELL COULD IT BE?
