  1. Hey Trent, cheers! I tried to send you a PM did you get it? Want to give me a quote on rods/pistons/HG/bearings + oil pump Really leaning toward the nitto - just dont think i can quite stretch to a Tomei one...
  2. what about the other inside bits??? as per first post 'spool' stuff specifically and MLS metal head gasket... cheers
  3. cheers for that - so i'm still uncertain as to what the benefit of doing a 'whole oil pump assembly' or going with a billet 'gear set' there must be design benefits for going to a whole assembly but can someone explain? thanks -Matt
  4. 'renix' gears?? what/who are they? i'm open to as much info i can get about this so please +ve's and -ve's thanks
  5. yeah i did - i pm'd str8e180 (i think thats username for Kemp from powertune) on nissansilvia.com and that's what i got back... on another note what are the nitto oil pumps like???
  6. Hey all, i've looked around and everyone has their own opinion and after looking at pages and pages i cant really find exactly what i'm looking for... My application will only to be about 300-350rwkw max with RB26/30 + GT3076r 0.82 - and to be used for drift / time attack I was considering getting a SPOOL ENGINE REBUILD KIT: RB30DET - $2450 Spool Forged H beam Conrods CP Forged Pistons ( Rings, Pins and Locks Included ) Cometic MLS Headgasket ACL Race Series Big End Bearings ACL Race Series Main Bearings with the CP pistons in to suit 9.0:1 CR however i cannot seem to find much information on this either besides what is on the spool website (i believe they're on SAU aswell??). Just after feedback / reliability / other options around this price ________________________________________________________________________________ ___ The other thing is oil pump, I've read about the N1 pumps and good and bad experiences with them, moreso something to do with recent ones failing for whatever reasons (crank collars not snug / new casting of oil pumps...) so i'm not really sold on a N1 pump. I was looking at the powertune gearset: ***** BILLET OIL PUMP GEAR SET $550.00 – send over std RB30 pump, will clean and install new gear set. Much stronger than original gear set Made to fit standard or N1 oil pump housing No extra cost involved unlike high volume pumps where an oil restrictor is required in your block CNC machined ***** but again was wanting to know info on these as to who has used them - any problems with them etc... other things i'd use with this would be: restrictors in head oil drain rear of head baffled sump moroso oil accumulator i cant afford (unfortunately) to go a Tomei / Jun pump so was hoping that this may be a viable option. I've also attached images of the gearset and others with it... Thanks in advance guys - i'm just about ready to go with this stuff so looking for all the info i can get -Matt
  7. it was on the connector for the boost pressure sensor. From what I can remember from the workshop manual, the error light and code comes on from either not enough voltage (under 2.6 I think makes closed circuit) or too much voltage (over 4.7 I think is open circuit). Correct voltage needs to be between these... I think the manual says around 4.2v... Hope this helps... It's definitely a painful problem...
  8. Hey guys I didn't have a loss of boost so perhaps yours is actually a faulty sensor. I'd start with that anyway... As for the manual I googled to find it on a us forum, I think it was Nico club or something I did fix my problem, it was a bad contact causing a voltage problem causingthe code cheers Matt

  18. nice choice! I've got exactly the same thing for my 26/30 woot
  19. ...still got it - it's in the shed. RB26 head acquired, 6boost manifold, tial wastegate, new gt3076r, plus a few little odds and ends... Car is completely stripped (again) had full cams roll cage welded in which also extended through the firewall to the strut towers and engine bay seam welded... now to get off my lazy ass and get sanding cleaning to paint interior and get sunroof hole welded up.......... all in good time. just need more moneyzzzz
  20. Hey Trent, cheers for the reply, however i've only just read it and i'll update my findings... I read a R34 workshop manual to try diagnose the wiring pinout - and possible causes and fixes for this code. I read that this sensor rely's on 2.7V and the engine light will come on if it is short circuiting (if it is below 0.6V) or if it is an open circuit (above 4.8 volts). I ran a multimeter on it and jiggled a couple of wires and to my surprise - engine light is now off - BUT - i know have a very very minor misfire, it only occurs at low RPM with no boost (only very slight throttle) AND it is not a constant issue (also there is NO engine light on now)... So back to the research board again to try and find the solution to this problem....
  21. hmmmm well the stagea doesn't even have a factory boost gauge.... i've been reading a 34 workshop manual - it could possibly be not enough or too much voltage... time to check with multimeter.
  22. Have a problem with 'boost pressure sensor' which details are in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Code-26-t279701.html How many boost pressure sensor's are in RB25 NEO? I have read that there are 4. One for the gauge, one for fuel mapping, one for ignition mapping and one for boost cut (about 0.9 bar). so i'm guessing in a stagea (no boost gauge) there would be 3... ??
  23. well we tried mine + 2 other 'boost sensor' on the firewall and re-set ecu and still no fix... how many boost pressure sensors on rb25 neo?
