  11. for regency should be just upgrade the brakes to suit the E to DET... as it comes out factory with DET shouldn't be much involved, just give regency a call.
  12. are these the "feel the beat" ones? lol *EDIT - no... lol
  13. whatever that bearing is called... lol i think we're talking about the same one - the one on the clutch fork in your gear box that pushes up against the front of the clutch.
  14. with the thrust bearing for the clutch - i've found that twin plate (is yours twin plate?) use a smaller thrust bearing as opposed to standard ones. Sometimes you may need to change the pivot ball aswell as these can vary in length depending on clutch. hope this helps.
  15. hehe that's right ROY... still love the 20's just after a little more torque... going from 2.4 to 3.0 should do the trick
  16. Yeah i might be interested in that MOROSO group buy... especially as they're only $330 ea anyway. I reackon i've got the jist of the oil restrictor thing / and 11mm head stud thing. Any more tips / hints / advice will be appreciated cheers -Matt
  17. Thanks for your help That spool site is good - i've flicked an email off to him so thanks for that. Why is it RB25 head studs are required? same as 26? With the custom oil drain is it like this? http://www.spoolimports.com/content/SPOOLR...OilDrainKit.asp are these the oil restrictors? http://www.lewisengines.com.au/prod79.htm how do they work? Also looking into Moroso oil accumulator
  18. got a link on where i can find info about that oil drain thingo... cheers mate BTW - check the RB30 section - post up your engine build
  19. Hey cheers guys - building it to be as 'reliable' as possible - mainly for drift, but also something i can just have fun in. Wanting to do some grip/hillclimb/drag aswell. Initially i went for the turbosmart 38mm, but I spoke with Simon at morpowa (has a 2jz with 6boost manifold, 38mm tial, gt3582 no boost issues) and he also spoke with Kyle (i think thats his name) from 6boost and came to the conclusion that if i change to the TIAL 38mm i should have no probs. I know you always hunger for more, but this is the route i'm going atm. Here's a pic of the car before my old TOMEI 2.4 was removed and the car was stripped getting ready for CAMS cage. ...So who can tell me where to buy stuff
  20. A Mate runs one on his 430rwkw 2JZ S15 fronted 180sx - it's great for drift also, as soon as pressure starts to drop from the oil slushing around in the sump, this moroso accumulator is pressurised to make sure that oil pressure remains constant. i will definitely be looking into one of these on my 26/30 build. -Matt
  21. yours WILL be tuff as murrayis... Mine made 277rwkw before i sold it - Also a tomei 2.4 - limited by turbo sizing.
  22. Damn this no edit function... Also: Adjustable Cam Gears. Also what timing belts are people using? Do RB26 ones fit or is it RB30 due to the height difference? (Will a NISMO belt suit?)
  23. Hey Everyone, I'm in the 'slow' process of collecting parts to get my RB26/30 build underway - End result will be to achieve around 300rwkw with a lot of response (rev limited to around 7200-7500) Items already purchased: RB26 Head - complete with covers RB26 std inlet plenum RB26 std 6 throttles GT3076r - 0.82 external gate TIAL 38mm external gate (14psi spring) 6 Boost manifold Now i'm looking at buying these bits as i go - just hoping people can speak from experience and point me in the right direction for what is good value, where to get it from for the best price - The build isn't supposed to be all out, just would like to keep it reliable Items to be purchased: RB30 block (series 2 - as means oil drains already in block?) Forged pistons & rings Rods Oil pump Metal Head gasket Arp rod bolt kit ARP main stud kit ARP head stud kit ACL Bearings Water pump Harmonic balancer (std?) Modified sump – rb30 Custom oil drain & oil restrictors (or is this mainly to suit RB25?) Crank collar All other machining etc to suit - completed by Nisspeed here in SA. Here are a couple of pics of parts obtained already, cheers -Matt
