  1. Sounds like a very good price! as far as the install goes it may be as simple as swapping out the old center and putting in the new one. The diff ratio may be different however meaning that that you may end up reeving higher or lower at a given speed/gear than you were with the stock diff I could not find a 2nd hand 350Z LSD at a decent price "couple of wreckers wanted $1200....." So I ordered a brand new Quaife center from the UK and had it installed. Lovely LSD, drives like stock when your puttering around but will throw down 2 black lines on the road when you want it to also puts down more power to the wheel with the most traction which = quicker lap times. Stock 350z is vicious which is ok but given time and kms it will start to behave like an open diff. You can allays shim it however
  2. Pretty sure im running 19 x 10" front and back
  3. Any chance I can get a ABS speed sensor front right side for a 2003 coupe ?
  4. Where did you end up getting your new sensor from? ebay/US or somewhere local?
  5. Hi guys took my car to the local brake shop to try and fix a problem that has been getting progressively worse over the last few months Basically what happens is 80% of the time I drive my car the ABS/SLIP/VDC light will come on within 100m of driving. The ABS self check will kick in as per usual however it will keep pumping the pedal and make extra noise for a few seconds before the waring lights come up on the dash I suspected that my drivers side front speed sensor was playing up as it seemed from the noises that the ABS control unit was trying to pump that brake and there was a clicking sound coming from it under hard braking or a low speed turn using 3/4 or more steering lock at low speeds with no brakes applied. Iv also noticed my speedo drop down from 110 to 50kph and then kick back up to 110kph after a few seconds. The brake shop plugged in a tool that reads fault codes and a code came up saying that the front passenger speed sensor was faulting. Anyhow they pulled out all the speed sensors and cleaned them only to have the the same dash lights come on however no fault code was registered. Im thinking the drivers side front speed sensor is fubared and needs to be replaced Anyone else had the same problem? Im busting to hit the track again but I wont until I can get this issue sorted as I don't care for VDC or traction control however I do like to have ABS when Im running semi slicks at the track
  6. Dust was pretty bad.... but I was more interested in them working when they were hot
  7. I have gone through a few sets of pads Completely destroyed some oem grade ones that were only 10k old in 1 track day, I drove home with almost no brakes at all the slots in my rotors will filled with pad warning lights galore on the dash "ABS, Brake warning light, slip, VDC" 2nd set was Ferodo DS2500 which I would rate as my favorite pad so far, work just as well as OEMs when cold but keep on keeping on when your at the track on your 5th hot lap. But like Grae35 said I allmost chewed through a rotor because of VDC constantly grabbing the front right brake whilst going around the sweepers - I stopped using VDC at the track after that, it was only holding me back anyway 3rd set is the QFM A1RM which iv done one track day on, I was a bit disappointed with them however my rotors got machined at the same time they went in which may be a reason why they didint feel as good. The front left rotor cracked that day anyway so iv replaced them with some RDA slotted as a band aid till I can sort something out like a set of Brembos. I'll see how they go on the fresh rotors next track day I go to however at the moment Im not sure when that will be as my cars having some issue with the ABS/VDC cutting out. I suspect a speed sensor is playing up as iv noticed the speedo drop down from 100 to 80 and then pick back up as iv been on the hwy
  8. Brake fluid is all good front pads are fresh same with rotors, might check back pads
  9. A couple of times in the past my car has randomly had the VDC, slip and ABS light come on the dash. Simply turning the car off and then back on would fix the problem Now this never bothered me because it would only happen once every 4 to 6 months but recently its started to happen frequently I have noticed that as the lights come on my speedo needle will drop about 10kph and then pick back up to the normal speed which is why I am thinking I might have a speed sensor issue This only seems to happen when I am on the HWY doing 100ish kph I have also noticed that when the lights are on and I pull over into the stopping bay on the side of the HWY to restart the car I can hear a clicking sound when Im braking hardish... ABS sensor?
  10. My rides got stock suspension for the moment but what I think makes it pick up all the little bumps in the road is the low profile tyres I run on my 19" rims 40 on the front 35 on the back
  11. That sucks! id be pissed I have to park in a shopping center for work however I start early enough that im able to grab a park where no other cars can park side by side of mine so what happens to you doesn't happen to me Before that at the last place I worked I would park between 2 other staff members cars so if I got a ding I would know exactly who did it
  12. They buttons do what they say they are for Snow makes the car very docile and from what iv read take off in 2nd gear. This is what you want when your in a snowy/icy road so your not wheel spinning at the slightest tap off the accelerator Power holds the gears longer before it changes
  13. Yeah I had to chop one of the stub axels down a bit nothing major I didint mind a 2 way in my 180sx but the V35 deserves something a little less harsh and quiet
  14. Yes you can Good luck finding one at a wrecker and when you do be prepared to pay through the nose for a used part. Also note that 2nd hand units with more than 80k can start to open wheel more than you would want to as the silicon gel in the vicious centre degrades with age/use Might be better off buying a brand new quaife centre like I did
  15. If anyone has some that they want to offload let me know as I want to upgrade the brakes on my V35 Cheers Stuart
  16. Fair enough, I would have liked to have gone brembo all round but Im not having any luck finding anyone local whos offering a set or anyone in the states willing to post to aus Might have to check out one of those web sites that acts as a broker as far as buying stuff over in the states and sending it over to australia
  17. Oh also I had some povo RDA slotted rotors fitted today as I was getting concered about the noise coming from the cracked rotor even when I was braking lightly. When I picked up the car I was told that my inner controll arm bushes were worn and needed to be replaced. I will be getting camber arms within the next 4 weeks, Im guessing that the new camber arms will replace the Control arm bushes as the camber arm is the control arm?
  18. Got to print out a template 2morow to see if the e-bay kit I found will fit my rims Ill also do the template from that link you posted for the Akebono and see if they fit price wise im going to be up for $1195 + the $395 postage... if I just go the fronts with blanks The Akebono also use dog bones as well?
  19. Hey pete where did you see this Akebono kit? Oh I also asked about the replacement rotors/pads and got this reply "The rotors are for the 350Z with Brembo Track brakes (324mm). The pad "D" number is D41. We've been supplying Wilwood pads for the past 23 years. Pads are also available at most online high performance distributors like Jegs and Summit. Outside of the Wilwood pads, there are probably 10 other friction companies making pads for Wilwood calipers including Raybestos, Performance Friction, Porterfield, EBC, Padgit, Hawk, Ferodo, Carbotech, Finishline etc... There are literally hundreds of choices. Street pads are around $65 / axle set from us. We can ship pads for $18 in future if you like."
  20. WTF are dog bones? Sorry never heard that term used before "A lot of kits around (including some of the Wilwood kits) used their entry level cheap calipers. While they may look good in a picture (big and shiny), it is all the specifications of them that must be looked at" To quote you directly "it is all the specifications of them that must be looked at" So lets compare them to my poverty spec single piston OEM nissan brakes? The kit ROTORS, 323mm diameter, 30mm thick curved vane directional, cross drilled "not a fan of cross drilled but for the price cant complain" 4 Piston caliper OEM Rotors, 296mm diameter, 24mm thick Single piston caliper As you can see spec wise this is quite an upgrade on my OEM brakes, cant see how these would not be as good if not better than the factory brembos on the 6 speed V35s/350Z
  21. Came across this on the net Big Brake Kit 350Z, G35 RACE 13" 4 piston Wilwood calipers Would seem everything needed comes in the kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380275147966&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en If the postage cost is right then it would be about $1069 to Australia + im guessing another 10% as customs dutys? = $1175ish? Given that a 2nd hand pair of brembos front and rear can go for close to 2k without discs..... Problem of course is that unlike the brembos people are going to notice that these things arent stock.. which makes me wonder about mod plates/defects/insurance Any ideas from you guys?
  22. Dont think ill have any issed with the track rims which are pictured in my avatar being +20 9.5 x 18, have tons of room. The 19"s that I use on the street have a bit of room might have to measure up and see also what have you guys done as far as mod plates/rta?
  23. Im based in Palm Beach at the moment, Iv seen a blue 350GT around Tweed City shopping centre a couple of times
