  1. I'm with you on an answer to this....I'd be very interested! I like the auto dash dimmer system...it seems pretty cool!...still, knowing how to tamper with parameters would be pretty cool too...espesh the idea of playing with the AC system settings (via button combo's??). Superspit....(all time tinkerererer)
  2. hopefully a 6m gearbox for my 35!......mine's farked!
  3. merrymas and safety to all...and in particular, the V35ers!!!
  4. I have to admit (though I'm sorry for your noise) that I'm happy that I'm not the only one!..lol! Did you ever suspect (wheel bearings, as I did.....(and still can't quite shake that feeling?? ) This morning I drove my 2 bosses to work, (break-up piss up) and they enjoyed the drive (well, the one in the front seat did anyway!!..lol!), but commented on the 'cheap sounding' ride, for such a luxurious type car......I appreciated their comments, coz they were farkin true! I think my next set of tyres will be a very standard performance tire, without all the 'supa-groovy, supa-wanky' tread patterns, that still seem to leave me spinnin my wheels from the lights in anything but dry weather. My 95 auto Ford Festiva is a darn side quieter!...that reeeeeeeeeeeally shits me bra! So, on top of a gearbox with a 'shot' input shaft bearing (and god knows what else), I've got shit Potenza's that tell me when my car is moving at any speed greater than 30kmh..... Still love the car though. Anyways, while I'm half sozzled I'll ask this to those out there...is there a definitive test for wheel bearing noise, without resorting to spanners.......(there's no free-play on any rims, incase you might ask) cheers!. oh...on another note...I felt good throwing (donating) a little cash at this site lastnite......it is just a great place, and has served me very well over the last few years...thanx SAU, and the people who make it possible!
  5. Windows come down a little, then push-up to fully closed when the door is shut for a very good reason. By utilizing a 'pressure differential/parity effect'; your huge 'air-tight' V35 doors are able to close smoothly, and not 'ajar'. The net effect also has assists with protecting/creating a better weather seal...(though, I believe, wasn't the primary concept).....some very good technical designing here! My R33 and my VJ charger could've done with that concept...forever slamming the doors to ensure proper closure...not any more but!! Cheers....and a safe Chrissy to my fellow Liner's!!!...Bless.
  6. Love the rims!...the car as an entire package is just beautiful!!!....Well done!!!..Go Panda!
  7. hahahaha...cool man! I don't drift but!....(lol) I'm with you on the dry weather comment....they are a great tyre for that, very confident.... ...wet=downright dangerous and embarrassing!...(1985 Magna's take off faster than me in the wet!!!)..shits me! Maybe your G3's are just a better designed tyre than my G2's???....maybe my ears have better frequency selectivity than yours!..lol!!! Merry Christmas Cassbo!!!
  8. hi mate....merry christmas! Not sure if mine are FSpotted......it's a very constant, proportional (with road speed/surface type) noise...'zooming' almost...kind of like bearings, but not (i hope)....it really shits me mate!
  9. Hey Guys......had the V35 for a couple of weeks now....going back in Jan to get a new gearbox (under warranty), but other than that ...great!...fantastic on petrol, compared to my last car, a 33GTST. Now..Potenza G2 (I believe the standard release tyre for my car)....@ about >80 tread, and bloody noisy! (hoping it's not the bearings, but unlikely).... Potenza drivers???...DO YOU FIND THIS particular TYRE NOISY????...Mine give me the shits...not to mention their very little wet weather performance!! (IMHO). Also, would love to hear suggestions on a good mid-range tyre that IS QUITE!!!! I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! Cheers. oh!..ps!......do you think that tyre manufacture's actually test their tyres at all ranges of the tyre's age...I've had this issue too many times where the tire is quiet at first (new), then shite at 8-10 months in...(talking about tyre noise here).
  10. naaah...it's all good...crappy neighbours have a crappy noisey dog anyways....and I start work early each morning, real early.
  11. just came across this thread....and I have to say....I'm waving the 'Chris-Rogers' banner...wave wave wave......You farkin rock man!!! oh yeah..Chris..I got the "Cyclops Paralyser" alarm/immob installed today ($680..Tower Audio Melb)..it's a supplementary/upgrade to the factory unit, that wasn't good enough (apparently) for my insurance company. (pricks!) Anyways..my car go chirpy beep crazy chirp when I unlock it....all crazy fancy like..... Ok...I'll shut up now.
  12. Dang!....just took my 2003 V35 (6 speed) for it's first long drive tonite.....put it back in the carport (fences either side) and man...the 'bearing' noise was there...clutch in..noise gone and nice and quiet. Revved the engine (clutch out) and it rattled for a second as it settled back to idle speed.... Clutch in, revved, and beautiful and quiet again as she settled back to idle speed.... Spigot bearing or thrust bearing guys????....daaaaang!!! I'm going to go back to the seller soon, with this issue..(paid $1980 for a years warranty, though she ain't broke yet!))..I'm really upset by this shit...only just had the car a week!....other than that, she's gorgeous...only done 30,000K's!
  13. Yeah...was just thinkin the same thing myself!...spent most of the morning replacing charcoal filter, spark plugs, induction clean, brake pads...........err...NOT!! Actually spent the morning watching this guy's videos...they are excellent,..but like you, thinkin my RB was a dream to work on....and also thinkin of takin a second mortgage out on the house when I get the things I mentioned done!!!..lol! Still....I got V35 fever....and farkin lovin it!
  14. gotchya!!....all things considered! So....Are there any mech/tronic differences at all b/w the 2?
  15. wow...correct me if I'm wrong, but that filter looks nice and easy to change!...woohoo! (was a bit woried about that!) I just need to get the 'type number' of the filter unit now!...lol! (umm...Z### ???) I've always used Helix grey (synth) in my other turbo lines...and, like suggested prior, I want to change my oil asap, as I will then be sure my new ride is right...(not full of Home-Brand)!..Cheers!
  16. wow John....that system looks the shit mate! What do you mean by 'too aggressive' there buddy? What sort of power increase (in practical terms) did you find with this bit of kit? (was she faster/slower on take off..etc etc??) Cheers man, Spit.
  17. THIS IS A FANTASIC THREAD YOU GUYS!....VERY PRACTICAL AND INFORMATIVE!... THANKYOU FOR SHARING THIS!...I've often wondered what these things can do stock!. Cheers!
  18. thankyou mang!
  19. Hey mate...what sort of oil you dumping into your baby?...Is the oil filter easy to get at?..What filter do you use/preffer? (just come from an R33, that was easy!..this one scares the begeesus outa me!..hahaha.)
  20. Hi guys... just picked up my beautiful 03 V35 last Saturday....love it... Drove for the first time in the wet today, geesh..it was a handfull! (compared to my R33 I just sold)..but anyways. Anyone got the 'part number/local availability' for the K & N version of our panel filter? Also, looking to change the note on my zorst,..is there a nice muffler you guys could recco, and still keep the pipes in-line with the rear bumper? Thanx in advance! Cheers!
  21. hey guys, just picked up my v35 lastnite...(very happy)..I have a question about the immob. When I lock the car via the remote i monitor the action from the centre dash LED, it flashes, I guess this is ok. But I have another LED (marked as 'security') on the drivers side that does nothing....no flashes. I tried locking the car via the remote, as per normal, then opened the door manually (red key), the car opened and still started successfully!! I would've thought that the 'immob' would've kicked in and prevented this(?) ((engine from starting)). I know there is no alarm, that's cool, but I didn't expect the engine to start!.......Is there something I can check to see if the 'immob' circuit is working??...no flashes from the 'security led' makes me curious as to whether the system is working. I guess my insurance people would like to know too! Cheers!

  23. oh man..I'm in Vic!!!...thanx anyways.... I should get my car by weekend!...I am buzzing!!
  24. All of these reasons are so valid, and I feel them to be very true! (I reckon heaps of us will agree with these comments!) I feel very comfortable with my purchase, even moreso now!....Thankyou! The first thing I'm going to do (actually the second thing as I will be buying a box of Kleenex first) is lower it, just enough to make it look a little more 'me', but without stuffing it's ride quality. (that'll defeat the purpose!)...just an inch. It will remain stock, after that....oh...maybe a supercharger, when I save up again! Thanx mang!
