  1. G'day guys, Question for Victorian peoples!!! A couple of years ago I went to Genesis (the origin of racing), and since have forgotten the suburb(!!) but had a wonderful mechanic/technician straighten my r33 out. I believe that they are not there anymore(??) I think he was close to the Waverley area (?), I've been looking at my receipts for the work done, but no address. I would like to find where he (Genesis) is, as I have some stupid problems that need looking at (namely a 'retarded' feel when I floor the car...can't figure it out for the life of me!!). If anyone knows who the frigg I'm talking about, I would really appreciate finding him again. Thanx in advance, Superspit.
  2. ok guys....this is the seller I did some business with....he has a few parts that aren't advertised aswell.....maybe make contact with him via the address I'm about to give you.......... http://search.ebay.com.au/_W0QQsassZskyline004QQhtZ-1 Give that a try.......and I hope, that at least, this will get the ball rolling? Kindest Regards, Superspit.
  3. aaaahhhh!....I have this same issue!....I found a supplier on E-Bay that charges $75.00 (s/hand)...I'll try and post up the details!...at work at the mo... Regards, SS.
  4. Thanx Ceffy....when I do the plugs, and take everything apart while doing so, I will be attempting to find a leak, or loose clamp.........your explanation sounds really logical to me!... I thank you! Regards, Superspit.
  5. there you go....I'm sure of the same thing too. (that is, I'm not entirely convinced). Your description is perfect, as far as I'm concerned, I feel/get the same action/re-action in the car under certain 'boost' conditions. (if I may call it that!) LOL! thanx silvers2, even if we both are incorrect, we may at least get some clarification on this subject. Thanks Spit.
  6. mmmmmm...no boost cut?........ok.... Fuel?...no, I've done many tanks, with the same results. Last time I gapped the plugs was when I last installed them...as per above. Car is great now, just won't boost like it use to. Thankyou.
  7. Ok...fair points...but allow me to clarify... Gaps are at .75, and have been like that since I've had the car, with all plugs changed....as in my signature. so that's cool. Yes, I did the 'spark cover off at nite' thing....saw no traces of spark or flashback...so, all good there. Fuel pumps, in my little exparience, regardless of boost conditions, can be easily tracked down to fault. The car comes up thru the rev range wonderfully, with no hesitation.. (I've had pumps fail on me before, and it just didn't feel that way, at all.) As soon as guage goes to a very consistant 12psi....the engine shudders, then wham, off she goes until you hit that 'Hi' boost again. Now she'll sit beautifully at the new 'hi' boost of only 7-8psi. ...but.. but...the joy was at 12-13psi!!! ( I miss it!..and more importantly, I want to know why this has changed) I believed that there was a boost cut on these engines, and at a very conservative and safe level.....? Is that not right Adriano? Thanx again Adriano...
  8. Thanx for quick response Adriano, replaced my fuel filter this morning. I've not done my plugs in ages, prolly more like 18-24 months...(Nissan platinum), could that be a cause?...geeesh....I will look at those. Coil packs seem fine, there is no missing, or roughness....I won't bother with that. Cat?.....geeesh....I had know idea that could cause a problem with boost cut, but then again, when thought about, it could do something with the back pressure...??? I will look at that. Pump..?....I can't see that as an issue at the moment...sounds fine (I can't hear it..LOL!)..just doesnt seem fuel pumpish!!.....car can sit at high speeds for as long as I want it, with no issues. (done in remote areas) So, plugs...and cat...I will check these. Thankyou so much.....Adriano!!!! Others...Please, anything else, ideas, suggestions?????
  9. I wonder what's changed? Hi guys, been a while. I had my car running nicely for almost 2 years at 11-12 psi..via a bleed valve...(PS.I'm not a lead foot, very occasionally would give it a squirt)....All good. Just recently I have found that when going up-hills, for a test example, in a high gear, she'll cough just as you'd expect to happen IF the boost cut was cutting in....btw, this never use to be a problem. I have since wound everything back to 7-8psi (accurate, as both stock and a/m guages concur), now I can get up that hill in 5th with no problem....but with a lot less 'joy'.....as you'd expect when lowering a car's performance. Just as a side note: I did the 'solenoid conversion' 3 years ago, so it's always on bypass...I've had much success with that simple mod..so it stays. (unless....????) I just can't think of anything else I've done to suddenly make it 'not like' the higher boost levels she use to run on, and very well. I've performed 're-sets', checked IC piping for bleed, and generally just checked things over. Turbo still appears 'strong', no smoke etc...plenty of typical Skline power.....but....as above. I'll throw it into the 'lion's den', see what you guys might come up with.. Sincere thanx in advance to you all! Superspit.
  10. Hi Guys!...gees, been a while! It's time to replace my timer box for my elec window, the little 'black-box'. I've tried servicing it, and it will work for a while, then.......! Could someone here please advise me where I can get one of these units, new or second hand (2nd hand is fine!). It goes up/down fine, just tries to 'over-run' on it's way down, and in it's end/down position. (means that I have to constantly 'flip' the switch up a bit to stop the drive motor)....hassle!! I am in Melbourne...and I'm glad to be back!!!! I thankyou for reading!! Kindest regards, Mark.
  11. $115.50 ..............fantastic,,,,,,,,,,,,couldn't do it cheaper myself, and not get frustrated and break something else! My honest mechanic Pulled unit out, cleaned out 11 years of crap, lubricated all moving parts, bench tested, re-installed. That's it! Like new now. Unless you're tooled up..(and I thought I was)............don't bother doing this yourself!!
  12. BUMP! SORRY! DON'T BOTHER, NOW TAKING TO MECHANIC!!!!!!
  13. Dooooooooode! This sounds very 'heartening'.....I'm giving it a bash over this weekend. Got my chassis stands and 13-14 mm socket/spanner etc.....can't wait to see if mine fixes like yours!! Thanx Dooooooooooode. Mark.
  14. there you go!....thanx man. Do you know what ur up for.....work wise? Will u be going in from down under, or from above. Any info u know about actual removal would be further appreciated! Mark.
  15. ta MR33....yeah, that's the same tact I'm taking....so far. What do you reckon guys?
  16. Hi 'liner's, been a while, hows it all...............er.....anyways! (Guess that means my line is going ace!) After doing a little searching/reading of our wonderful forumns, I have determined that it is my starter motor making some wonderful, pre-historic bird type noises, after successful ignition (screeching noise lasts for upto 1-2 seconds after she starts). At first, I thought it was fan belts, now I believe it's the starter(?). (tightened belts, lubricated them just to check, cleaned up afterwoulds).....noise still exactly the same. So, 3 questions/queries........ A) Would u concur with my comments thus far, that it looks like the starter may not be 'recoiling' back? B) I imagine, by looking at this part of the car, that removal of the starter would best be done from under the car(?).....Would u agree? (1995 series 1.5 R33 GTS-t) C) I plan on removing the starter and cleaning it majorly (strip it as best I can) and lube it. (Worth doing?....any problems foreseen by you people?). Hey Guys....thankyou in anticipation. Maybe someone knows the price of install/part too......justin' Up the 'irons!! Mark, Superspit. DON'T BOTHER, NOW TAKING TO MECHANIC!!!!!!
  17. YOO NOOO TOOOUUCH! NOT BEING SO GOOD FOR YOU CAR NOW! (hope that helped, and your car still starts!!)
  18. SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOU KILLED THE BRAIN!!!.....BUT AS WITH ANYTHING ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC, DISCONNECTION PRIOR TO ANY WORK IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERITIVE! But there is always something called 'Lady-Luck'.......maybe you have it?
  19. HEAR HEAR!! same thing happenened to me over the last 2 weeks, ...adjustments were fine, belt's seem ok........silicon spray and now ace. anyways......all good advice and surely the source of your noise!
  20. man!!!!! am I missing something here???
  21. Man!, One thing for sure...............they are bloody deep grooves.!! I'm amazed that they could be so quite!!! Your pic is infact the tyres I've got, but they look like they're already worn out, compared to mine!~!~!
  22. thanx so far guys. Although the term 'tramline' has me a little bemused!! I bought the F1's last nite, just for the rear, will do the fronts with same in 2 weeks, (unless the tyre proves to be awful!!). Noise has cut down drasticly, at most speeds......but they're just not gripping yet!! Few more blockies should sort them out, I hope? Thanx!
  23. Hi Skliner's, wsup inda mofo.............anyways, Any practical experience with this particular kookey looking type of tyre.??? I'm looking to purchase (@$230.00 each) these to go on my Enkei's, now!!! I've absolutely had a gut full with my noisy Dunlop SP3000A's!!! Many thanx in advance! Superspit Mark.
