  1. cool, and thanq SUMO & VL .....just with extra boost my car was missing at anything above my .8 gap size (kind people suggested this as a fix when increasing boost, and it worked..thanx SAU!!). Car could start but wouldn't transition into boost without popping. OK guys....<>60000km or <>100000kms...this is for a N/A car? With turbo cars, what could I reliably expect from even these 'high quality' plugs? 10,15K, 25K? Surely, no plug could do 100K in a turbo car that is driven anything above granny mode and burning expensomax petrol? Has anyone ever heard of a good quality plug in a turbo car exceeding 50k, for example?? Please, come back?...and I thank you.
  2. Woah!! At 1.1 mm gap my car wouldn't start!!! I use .75-.8.. and all seems well. I'd like to run a bigger spark though...wish I could! (mmm.....splitfires??) I guess I know that N/A cars could expect 100k, but a daily driver turbo nana driver? Thanx guys.
  3. Bump.....I guess I would like more opinions....if possible? Thanks goes to SUMO.
  4. Shaun, your baby will be just fine!! I love this stuff, and so do a lot of other people. Never actually heard a bad word about it!
  5. this 'gal' uses (and recommends) Target Premium Brand...costs $7.99 for 8 litres...........stuff paying $25-$30 like the rest of you guys (and gals)!!! By the way, the grocery guy at Target rekons 20-50w is pretty good! mmmm................. Seriously.........Like everything in life you get what you pay for....just get the first number right!
  6. Hi Skliner's, how's it all....er, anyways.... 1 year ago I had my sparkplugs changed (OEM Platinum $25.00 each). I remember some massive debates on coppers versus plat, iridium etc...and their comparitive longevity/cheapness/replacement intervals, between the differing types. I remember sticking with 'long life plugs' (decided platinum over copper), as I am not happy with the idea of having to remove the top section of a turbo 'line every time I wanna do the plugs. (apparantly often with coppers). I have now done (about) over 20K with these plugs, car still seems ok, but it's hard to tell with these sorts of things over time, and you naturally getting use to something like a slight loss of power. I do not want to start a debate, but i would like to know, in your opinions, if I've actually exceeded the life of my platinums (I run slightly higher than stock boost ie. 10-11 pissants). ...and if there is a chance that I'm not getting 'sparkling' performance could it be attributed to dying plugs (?). My Car idles beautifully, always has, but but just doesn't "get to the top" in each gear like I thought it did a year ago. If my car was N/A, would these expensive plugs last longer? Have I exceeded the plug's servicibility? If I get an answer tonight....guess what I might be doing tomorrow!!? In anticipation....... Mark Superspit.
  7. mmmmmm.....HKS Hypermax 2.......mmmmmmmm....my back and bum hurts due to suspension stiffness! So does my neck from the incredible cornering/hold ability.
  8. if you live near the guy and plan on doing a 'drive-by' (and admit it on these posts) then I suggest you hide your SAU avatars and your car info surrounding it! ie. mmmmm '99Chaser....not many of those around!!
  9. Hey PetGTS4, Thankyou, sounds very practical, indeed! Am still a bit confused over the Laiden/unlaiden testing, and I'm afraid that the cops will always just use 'their' rule of thumb, at the end of the day.....who's gunna argue with them? Yeah, so Tuesday, get zorst tucked up nice and high, so I can go nice and low!! Shall I let you know how I go?
  10. Hi, and Sorry SK, I don't follow? I can purchase BP98 at anyone of a numerous stations locally.........or are you implying that we here in Vic get a second rate version of BP98? As someone else here said, BP goes through my car way too quickly. Regards, Mark.
  11. No Ford or Holden?....cool. Get yourself an upspec Subaru Liberty wagon, 2-3 years old. (let someone else pay the bloody taxes and BS showroom prices!!) Build quality is great, room that is practical, quiet, economical, nice switch gear, ace auto (or manual), typical reliability and they go incredibly well,....... and in the right colour...look class. $30K, or slightly less/more will put smiles on you and the misses face! Good Luck, and, please consider!
  12. Hey Skliner's, been a while but.......er.......anyways..... Since I got defected some 4 months ago for being too low (lowest point of the car was apparantly 85mm, ie.one tiny angley part of the exhaust to the road) I've adjusted my suspension (easily done in my car) so high that I'm almost embarassed to drive it now. I've friggin' had it, I want my baby to look like it once did. So I've booked the car in at Trufit Moorabbin (Geoff) to see if he can get the 4" Stainless tucked up further so I can lower the car again. Question: What is the legal height for my line, in a practical sense? ie.What would the police be looking for if I get pulled over again for height? I know I could find an answer from some dull legal site, but I'd rather talk to my fellow 'liners about this! Anyways, thanx in advance. Mark. SuperSpit.
  13. OK, so after seeing the poll, and understanding that more than a few people here know what they're on about, I decided to try BP98, again. Well, that's the 3rd and final time for me.!! I'll stick the the smelly Expensomax, and my car will continue to run well. I just don't see anything 'great' with BP98, car goes/idles like crap until it gets rid of the tank. i guess it must be an 'age' or 'tune' thing in each car?. Ayways, each to their own I guess!
  14. yep, reckon it's a fricken wank? This is not necessarily a question!
  15. and on that basis......I should retract what I may have implied about a manual being given out to people. Love to help, but just by owning an R33 I've been made to feel as if I'm breaking the law, (by police), let alone actually breaking it!! Sorry to those who PM'd me.
  16. gees...$36.00! I could've mailed you a CD!!! for P and H only!!
  17. Hi, are 'pods' illegal where you are?
  18. things that make you go......mmmmmmm.
  19. I've had it (current radio) in bits on my kitchen table, got the AM band to work only, couldn't see any particular make. But.......Matsushita is Japan's biggest CD drive manuafacturer (computers and audio), so it probably is!! You may also notice that there is another round 'mini-din' type plug on the back of the uninstalled radio....wonder what that could be??
  20. mmmmmm...............function, subjective style, and............................stealth!! Gold!
  21. oh....! i am told that even my current tape/radio is cd stacker upgradeable via a harness in the 2 spare sockets in the back of the unit, presently unused. I've just bought the actual cd player pictured (front CD slot, all else same as mine.) Chris, What's a 'steering control'??
  22. umm.....so you get my point then? Those 2 litres appear unbreakable, but 'truck' like!!
  23. oh, you can see it when it counts!!! It's not like a speedo, where you constantly (hopefuly) look at it. I figure that once you've sorted your car out, got it tuned and tight, you'll hardly need to check your boost as your ears will tend to take over the monitoring of your car.....better than some guages infact!!! Living in Melbourne, I'd be foolish to place any guage ANYWHERE the fuzz can see it!! I think my installation is 'stealthy', practical and simple!! (not implying anything here bro....but....) beware of the 'wanky factor' when installing anything inside your machine.....cops will either take it off you, or worse, you'll look like a Magna VRX/Camry Sportivo driver.......feel like they have to prove something. Just my thoughts.....have fun with your beautiful machine!! Mark. :Bang:
