V35?...will It Become As 'over-crowded' As The R33?
superspit replied to superspit's topic in General Automotive Discussion
yes, I hear exactly what you are saying man..(and thanks for being honest!!)..hence the 'flavour' of the subject I raised....This is exactly the thought process I had!..(and they still remain, but ever so partially). I love sklines..always will..and I wanted to stay with the brand, but my back simply won't allow me to drive my current car, and I didn't have the heart to take out the Hypermax's and go back to stock......I did a 'time and motion' study on replacing the drivers seat with aftermarket stuff, and they seemed to hurt my back even more!..(slipped disc L5)..anyways. Yeah,,,skyline is supposed to be the 'road-rocket'/road warrior', but as the car has changed and developed (not necessarily in the best ways) so have I, and it works for me. I sat in the guys (the trader's) R35 he also has for sale ($169000..yeah, the new one) and I couldn't physically get back out!! (But I pressed every bloody switch on that car,(coz I couldn't help myself!!lol!) my dad and I were drooling, pushin buttons and shit...yeap, my dads nuts on those things too..maybe in 10 years I can afford one!!) Bless you and farkin raaaaawk on! -

ok...here are some quick pics of the car I tested and generally checked out...oh...and bought. Everything was how I wanted it...dint free, perfect paint, FULL LEATHER INTERIOR, 6 SPEED, xenon lamps, 3.5 LTR ENGINE.....AND A SHITLOAD OF OTHER SHIT! PLUS...no bullshit LCD screen or overly complicated stereo that needed converting in order to work(!).....just perfect!! (what I wanted anyway..!) I paid a little more for the leather interior (and 6 speeder) but it was the best I had seen, and the guy loved my 33, so I traded that in...saved alot of red tape..got 12k too! Anyway..I thankyou guys for allowing me to mull over your thoughts and ideas (they seemed to come from your hearts, aswell as your heads!)...thankyou..... I'm really f**kin excited..! Cheers me matey's... SS.. ps..it's a 2003 model with 32k on the cock. -

I know I'll miss so many aspects of the 33...I love the car...never an ounce of issue....smooth, fast(enuff for me!), handles like a train,...it's just killing my back...(due for surgery in a few weeks (I'm shit scared))....I could never own the home grown stuff...I've been way too spoilt by the silvia's and skline's over the past 10 years. I'm getting older....and I feel that I'm changing, evolving...into what?....who cares..... Off I go to test these frigin things!!!...wooohoo! -

ah yes.....you make complete sense Nis!.....(this is what I'm talkin about!)..... I feel what you're saying mate, and understand that I could feel the same way.. (I undrstand the 'edge' bit!!)...I've decided (pre-decided) on the manual. The price of CVR (should anything go wrong) scares the begeesus out of me...plus I'm still young enough to mash gears!! It's funny how the manuals are fetching bigger $$$$.......supply and demand maybe? Still, with an open mind I drive tonite, much fun to be had, mmmmh...yes! -

superspit replied to superspit's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Guys, respectfully, I have no interest (hey, it's my thread!..lol!) in any other car other than the Skline platform....that'll just complicate an already complicated topic. Very good answers though so far.....and exactly what I am aiming for...your actually feelings/thoughts are so appreciated, I thankyou! Going to test 2 V35's tonite, one with auto and other with man....both 3.5, both silver and both fresh from Nippon. $28k to 30k.... -
Hi people, been a while, hope you're well. As the owner of an R33GTS-t for almost 5 years (and proudly so), I'm looking to trade up. My next car will be the V35, (I just absolutely love it)... in what spec, I know not yet. (auto, man etc)...but it has to be a 3.5 litre, I know that much.(so many options for these things!!..I thought the 33 had so many!) My point, specifically, is do you think that there will be a time that the V35 variant will be the new R32,3,4 in as far as commonality is concerned?......Do you think the the V35 platform (being a very different platform to the 'halcyon' days type turbo models) would be a pleasing to the current 2,3,4 owners, or is it too far different to be considered a step up? I wonder if I'm making sense here? Currently the V35 (03 to 05's) can be bought from 28k to 35k (the ones I'm interested in), but ofcourse comes a time when they will be much cheaper.... Now to connect up my question.... Would the typical TURBO Skyline owner be looking to the V35 as a step up...or would they consider the GTR variant of their current car a step up? In 5 years will I start to see thrashed and smashed V35's with more K-tel clip-on mods than a Hyandai from Geelong? Do (some) people see the V35 as 'not a real' Skyline??? Is it simply the price of an R33 (so low nowadays, I bought mine for 25k!!) that makes them popular...will the V35 go the same way? oh shit....I prolly shouldn't post when I've been drinking...f**k it...there it is..... I thankyou for reading my post.....cheers.

by that do you mean the outer spring touching the shocks themselves? If so, then no, it's not that......we're pretty darn sure it's just plain foooked shocks. The springs appear to sit well enough..I had the original springs converted to King Springs...getting rid of that rather odd dual spring thing the HKS originally came out with...some years ago.....the ride did improve a little, noise was acceptable then....I figured it's not a race car..! Someone suggested Centreline...I'm hoping they can help me out....just haven't had the time even ring em......geeesh, where does the bloody days go....(?) Anyone have any ideas of what I should budget for, for the reco of the rears? Thanx again!

Hi B.E..... I'm only going by what the suspension specialist said.........apparently, there is supposed to be oil, within the casing of the strut.....(?)...this has leaked out.....Creating a clunking noise (almost like a metal rod within a hollow tube sound, when going over anything but the smoothest roads.)...I guess this oil is part of the shockers anti-noise??...maybe even for cooling???? They are HKS HMAX II's....a very odd looking shocker comapared to my other standard cars. I have set all 4 shocks to their softest setting, btw.(top screw adjustment all the way up.) My car's rear has never had any bounce or rebound....none from the pressure I can exert anyway...you run over a cigar butt with my car and it launches.....it's probably that that has stuffed my back!...lol. wow!...are those Bilsteins fully height adjustable,,,(I need this, as I don't want my car any higher or lower, I want it exactly matched in height). Thankyou for all your responses so far!... Cheers.

Hi guys... They still seem to work...just noisy as!...Front ones are ok. Cost me $70 just to have someone tell me that (in Moorabbin), then they wanted over 2.5k for four basic Teins....I don't need 4 and they wouldn't do just the two!.......f**k'em. I think I could afford a rebuild rather than replacing them. (??) Your experience and advice, with any potential $$$ amounts would be much appreciated....oh, and locations of good shock techs! Cheers.

Hi guys....been a while.....33 still going pretty strong...after nearly 3000 bux!....anyway... I'm interested in this product......and what this advertiser is saying specifically about potential defects for uncovered pods.?? Two things..... 1) is this 'new law' true, and if so, when is it coming in? 2) Does this seem like good value?..Does it work?..I wouldn't be looking at the clear version so much as the plain black box version. I understand the concept of seperating induction from heat sources as best as possible, but would this particular system actually help, or hinder?...My 'potential' set-up would be almost identical to the in-situ picture on that site. Your comments would be very appreciated, and thankyou for your time. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A:IT&ih=002

Hi, just an update after getting the car back (as above). It was a heavy duty Bosch (in-tank) pump they installed (don't know why I said Denso earlier)...car now picks up smoother and more linearly (not in stages as it use to)....but still hits the 'sudden stop' syndrome when using higher gears and pedal to the metal......(Jolts badly). When in a low gear (1st 2nd) no probs...very quick. I have just gone out and taken the bleeder valve off my car (back to stock now..around a boring 7psi, not 11-12)....will test drive and see what happens. Looking forward to seing if the 'black soot' returns to my rear bumper bar.....like it use to!... But I do recall a little while back that a split was found in my IC piping, that was fixed and all was great....might have to get it all checked out again, I don't have the back for it right now.....hopefully the CT scan on my lower back I had this morning will finally find the answer!....to that problem anyway. Anyways...I'll come back after a drive, if I can, shortly.

woah!.......UPDATES PLEASE!!!

Missfire After Change Of Plugs....help A New Skyline Owner!
superspit replied to 33driver's topic in General Maintenance
No worries mate!!........ As per yourself I'll continue to run <>.75mm, regardless of any further advice to the contrary, as this has solved many issues for me since i started utilising this method, on MY car. I will also save my money, and not get Splitfires, as my current performance would not improve, with that particular mod. I'm saving for some new 'synchro's'........lol!...now that's really gunna improve a lot of things !!!! (except for the bank balance). Well done...and regards, Superspit. -
I'm glad someone mentioned compression!!!!....geeeeesh!!! ...hehehe..
