  1. i like your thinking, should keep the 5-O guessing the next time!!
  2. woah, up the Lateral thinkers.............. That makes a lot a sense AB...it all seems so clear now. (At least that could be used as an arguement, on the authorities side!! (damn!) By the way AB, how's that info on the 'circular shiny recordable medium'? Ace, is it not? Thanx man.
  3. right..........right, right, mmmm , right.............so importing Skylines was actually illegal up until a few months ago (before the new rules and stuff)?. and........just as you create resistance with each meter of electrical wire used in a circuit, so too you could expect a loss/lack of response with longer pieces of pressure piping (?)...PHATR32 was hinting at this theory. anyways..............ta. :headspin:
  4. incredulous!!!!..........and if your car came out with one fitted...........? Thanx man.
  5. That's THE $75.00 question G-Toy. I suppose it is the 'escape of air' that erks the authorities. I've heard that u can purchase BC's that have a third connector that vents the 'air' back into the system. That must be legal!!! ....(on the above basis)? Maybe 5-O just doesn't like any mods at all. while we are here.....are air-pods illegal? anybody? I could tell they (the police) didn't like my big TRUST one too much, its just that they didn't say anything. (it was more of a 'ponder' over it. you had to be there!) anyways............SS Mark
  6. Hey J, yeah, I saw that article on 're-wired solenoid boost', so I got my multimeter out just to be sure and checked the output current/voltage and 'switch on threshhold' of the black and white wires....and guess what I found........It seemes that the article was wrong.(?) If u cut the white (positive) wire, and attach that to earth, you will not have a complete circuit, nothing will work.....but you could potentially have a new 'heater'! (if you earth the white wire while it is still connected). That is why I have cut the black wire on the solenoid side and simply attached that to earth, and safely taped up the the other side of the black wire (socket side). When the solenoid finally dies from over use, I will just get a U-Shaped connector and place that where the solenoid pipes use to go. This is actually how my Skline is operating at the Mo. Seems like a few other's Sklines are running the same too!!!!!!!!!! Adjustable Wastegate Actuator sounds like an ace idea ($200...is that all?)......... Anyways.....thanx Skliner's. (and thankyou J-Flash!)SSMark
  7. what and who was your edited arguement about? This is "the" forum, so let it hang out my overly petrol consuming friend!!
  8. Hey P, they was parked on the opposite side of Stud Rd (front of the TAFE), they took off like a rocket...U-turned and were on my 6 in next to no time at the intersection. It's just that they made such an effort to 'catch me' (i'm doing 55 kmh by the way). Hoez(?) .......sh1t yeah!
  9. Hey Skliner's, been a while, but I suppose that thanks to this 'Forum' my car has been running incredibly well and reliable over the past few months that I've had the car. Anyways, yesterday I got pulled over by the 5-O at the cnr of Bwd Hwy and Stud Rd. Wasn't doing anything silly, the guys just wanted a 'look' at the car and under the bonnet. Luckily I found out some time ago that a BOV with even a 'partial' escape of air to atmo was illegal. That's why I don't have one anymore. But the very 'switched on' Policemen instantly sited my blue anodised GFB Boost control and immediately chuckled and told me that this was an 'EPA illegal mod', and that if I took it off immediately there would be no further issue. And they told me that they've seen my car driving around and they'll pull me over just to check that I've done the right thing. (That's nice!!) They liked the car and wouldn't stop talking about my mags and the absolute 'cleanliness' of the engine bay.(ace blokes!!) ANYWAYS...took the boost control off the car, test drove it........sh1thouse, comparitively speaking. (12 to 7-8psi) makes such a difference!!!. I was so dissapointed, but I thought I would make some sort of 'concession' by doing the 'black-wire mod' to my boost solenoid. (black wire from solenoid permenantly attached to the car body, white + wire left alone)....this makes the solenoid activate all the time and has made things alot better and more liveable, for now. ANYWAYS AGAIN!!!.....I didn't know that an aftermarket GFB bleeder type boost control was illegal, (did the guy at Autobarn?) When it was explained to me, (bleeders bleed 'emissions'!!), it all made sense, I guess. The MORAL here?.........Christ, there's too many of them! QUESTION............What sorts of things specifically can we do and still be considered LEGAL and what things are ILLEGAL on our turbo cars? Anyways Skliner's.....have a good ride, and the cops aren't always 'unreasonable', if you just accept what it is they have to say!! I have also added another 'reply' to this further down regarding my improved 'fuel economy' SuperSpitMark
  10. I am thinking that Craved breathes that 'bit of vapour' in through his nose!! 500 km per tank(?)....have u got the 4 banger version engine? no disrespect intended friend, but I would be proud of that!! Spit. ps.I too get that smell,at those times, and always seems to be when my girlfwend gets in the car
  11. Hicas only works at higher speeds, doesn't it? So it's not as if your girlfriend would notice the rear wheels steering, even so slightly, when I was parking the car or something? (excuse my lacking in this dept.)
  12. Ta for input guys.......... I'll be adjusting the bleeder for MAX BOOST. So I'm thinking that the 4500-5000 spike can't happen, because the bleed screw will be 'ready' for it. (???)
  13. the same way I am doing it now........I suppose!!! turn a screw (GFB Boost Controller) that is directly controlling the waste gate. (this will control Max Boost)..which is all I need???? thanx In. :flower:
  14. :nowigetit hey Skliner's...... In my head this appears to work, but in reality........???? If I was to re-plumb my original boost solenoid back into 33 (as per stock), and make a new cut in the hose just prior to the wastegate, could I have the best of both worlds.ie..computer controlled boost that is set higher than the original. (warning...in my head, many things appear to work, but often don't!!) anyways......thanx skliner's. Mark.
  15. Now that ain't talkin out of ya bumhole!!! Ace unit...I want one of these!!
  16. if you had the choice of plumbing your after market Boost Gauge to one of these 3 points (only these 3), which one would it be? (there are going to be better points, but these are the 3 I'm interested in.) Specifically R33. 1. straight into plenumn, or any direct reciprocal there of. 2. pre boost control/post boost control 3. direct pre/post intercooler. and...........where have you plumbed yours, only to find later that this wasn't right? :Bang: anyways............Thanx Skliner's.
  17. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i took this from "MacBoost" in the forced indy section from last year...is this true? this much pressure differential? I'd better re-plumb my Boost Gauge...(?)
  18. my GFB valve does exactly the same as yours!!! But i'll never go back to the standard one!!! no, no never......................!!!!!!
  19. well, er good question Skid, I guess both... so, in actual fact, you are measuring pressure differential (between two points) to determine if and how much of a leak there is!!? you're ace....will get hold of another gauge this evening. ($45.00 for a Speco at repco.....should be able to handle that!)
  20. Hey Knore.....and thanx man. yeah, you're probably right (i concur), i'll just wait till this mobil stuff flushes out and then go back to wallet-o-max. Thanx again, I'll do what u suggested though.
