  1. precisely why you get someone to know what they're doing to look at it.. they probably just masked the leak before you went to check it out.
  2. Amen.. trade late model Jeeps all the time because they're rubbish.
  3. that 3 year warranty you've got will be bogus.. just like a new Jeep warranty lol.
  4. Absolutely, i remember in used cars my old boss was a real hard arse especially with giving money away and doing repair jobs through stat warranty. He was always very very by the book and would not go out of his way to help anyone.. i don't agree with the way he did business but he sure as hell saved a lot of money doing it that way - but burnt many customers in the process.
  5. A massive percentage of business fail within the first 5 years primarily due to poor planning.. I understand what's it like to be in the industry Joe as i have been in used cars for several years in the past but have since moved on to new cars. A lot of customers want everything but expect to pay bottom dollar.. these days it's easy to give your credit card to a dealership in a big city and get them to send you a car on the back of a truck but it's not the same experience as buying in person at your local dealership. This problem is without a doubt the worst part of new cars - people shopping prices elsewhere. Wanting us to drop our pants and do cost price deals and yet be serviced and taken care of etc.. That's off on a bit of a tangent but that's my rant - similar to what you're saying with bills and running a business etc. The import business i can imagine would be very difficult considering the amount of competition you have, bills and running costs, stat warranty claims etc etc.. not to mention only delivering a small amount of cars every month you would really have to be making good money off each car. In my work i average $2250 per new car, and i deliver an average of 18 cars per month. Some cars have more margin than others but you know what i mean. I imagine you would have a lot of uncertainty with your profits given what's involved with importing a car and used car reconditioning.. sometimes you take the risk a buy a lemon of a car that costs you too much to recon so you flick it off and wholesale it.
  6. awesome! well done Cal it looks great. That's one shiny turbz too. next TNT??
  7. that's awesome. goodluck selling it, haha nah not in the market mate got a free work car..
  8. Honestly 5+ years ago i'd never touch one. But now i'm so confident they're a quality car i've sold 2 of them to family members. My sister a new I30 and my parents a new Highlander Santa Fe and i tell you what both of them absolutely love their cars to bits.
  9. I'm passionate about the product. That's fine i'm not asking you to own one - I just come across far too many narrow minded people that don't know much about the product but are quick to diss it.
  10. hey mate congratulations on selling your car. what'd you end up getting for it?
  11. I've got my i40 down to 4.7L/100km on a 130km trip sitting on 105km/h cruise control the whole way. Imagine a longer drive than that..
  12. Because Hyundai don't need big motors to get big torque.. example: the old FD Hyundai i30 was a 2.0l motor. The new GD I30 uses a 1.8l motor with more power and better fuel economy. Bigger motor doesn't always mean more power.
  13. Absolutely. 5th biggest motor corporation in the world now, building around 2 million cars a year for the globe and employ roughly 75,000 people worldwide. There is even a little fishing village right next door to the biggest production plant in the world in south korea.. that's how clean it is.
  14. 5 year unlimited km warranty, 7 year roadside assist, 3 years capped price servicing (15,000km-12 month intervals) full size spare better put together interior (easier to navigate and more updated), better features, better value for money and a better looking car is a handful of reasons why i'd buy an I40 over a dolphin-nosed Mazda.
  15. you might think it's a little slower because you're used to a faster car. But 320nm of torque in a 1.7l turbo diesel motor is awesome. You can get 1500km to a tank of fuel highway driving in one of those too. I sell Hyundai's and i'm currently driving one for a drive car - i think it's great i enjoy driving it every day. Nice and smooth comfy and power is great.
  16. it must be petrol.. the 1.7l turbo diesel is ballsy as f*ck for a small motor.
  17. shit.. hope the driver is OK that looks way too close for comfort.
  18. the aftermarket headlights seem to have poor visibility at night which is obviously a very important aspect of the car.. i think you'd be better off finding a mint set of 03-05 reflectors but still they don't have very good vision.
  19. ^ sure, if you want a pair of aftermarket low quality headlights..
  20. whoops just realised i kept saying clutch instead of flywheel -.- but yeah from memory when i was researching a new clutch/flywheel a lot of people were saying the same thing about the JWT and how nice it was to use. the thing i liked about my Southbend clutch/flywheel is that it was nice and soft, it took a little while to get used to but it was very easy to drive with as my car used to have a stiff as hell exedy clutch in it originally that hurt my feet when driving barefoot lol.. what if you upgrade your sound system and drown the flywheel noise out? haha..
  21. i had the Southbend clutch from CZP in the states, i believe Southbend are made by Exedy. It's a single mass and from memory it did make a little noise at low rpm as a lot of aftermarket clutches do, i'd google it and see some feedback on some personal experiences with the single mass, but i believe most of them will be noisy. i have heard that the nismo clutch is quiet, but i am not entirely sure if it was a personal experience or not. good luck mate
  22. you'll have to get in touch with one of the JDM importers, it's quite difficult to find a set yourself. Jesse Streeter, Import Monster etc will be able to help
  23. just upgrade to projectors... i wouldn't put time, money and effort into modifying the old crappy reflectors.
