  1. Greg is correct, the CD001 gearbox in my old 03 coupe shit itself at around 80,000km. Bad grinding in 5th gear and 3rd gear was very loose and difficult to engage. I ended up shipping a CD009 gearbox, Southbend clutch & flywheel from the US for $3200 from memory. CD009 gearbox is great, nice and tight and solid. Definitely the best upgrade i did on my old car. The only other thing i'd add to what Greg has said is definitely go for a premium, the leather interior and brembo brakes is a nice addition and you can easily get your hands on one of those for that sort of money. Goodluck with your purchase i'm sure you'll love the car!
  2. Vossens aren't even bad.. but if i was gonna go concave i'd grab some SSR Executor wheels or a sweet set of DPE wheels.
  3. the person who bought my car had been eyeing them off for a year and really wanted one. he found mine locally that i had taken very good care of and he could afford it so he bought it. Who's to say that the km's were wound back? sure a few of them in sydney will claim 50,000km but judging by how clean my car was and it actually had service books up to 60,000km then i am pretty sure the km's were correct. jugding by your reply you bought one with wound back km's?
  4. 11.5k is DIRT cheap, have you got proof of km's? fingers crossed there's no gremlins.
  5. i sold my 03 premium coupe doe 95,000km for $19,500 in mint condition with a few mods and 6month rego. it's a niche market of people that go for these cars, i had my car advertised on every website i could think of and was always updating facebook for sale advertisements etc.. ended up selling it from word of mouth and someone saw it on facebook.
  6. diggin the carbon cover, got any idea of what you want to make power wise?
  7. judging by the tails it looks like a 06-07 coupe.. pretty rare. looks neat.
  8. After reading this again i find that very hard to believe.. $73,000 mark up is absurd. Have you got proof?
  9. In this case, it is a mark up from trade-price to retail sale price... happens all the time. When i said "never seen a 10% mark up in price" i meant from brand new. Meaning difference between cost price from factory to retail sale price.
  10. excuse me? might want to read what i wrote again. 10% mark up not 10k.
  11. Agree with what Adam says, usually when a new model or facelift model comes out the previous model will reduce in price. I don't know what the differences between the MY13 and MY14 is with the GTR but the discount that goes to the MY13 model car will usually be $1000 or $2000 max. We work off committments - if you walk in there and drive the car and express to the sales person that you want to own this car today and physically give them your credit card they will speak to their manager and work out a figure for you. Ask to see pricing at retail first though. Every dealership in the country pays the same price for the cars, the only difference is that some dealerships need to pay freight from where the vehicle docks in the country to get it to their dealership. It just comes down to which dealership is prepared to discount their car the most, and as i originally said i can only assume most of them will not be willing to give you much discount at all given the type of car and stock situation.
  12. I've been in new and used vehicle sales for several years and have never seen a 10% mark up in price.. in saying that i've never worked in new cars for Nissan so i couldn't tell you what sort of profit margin is in them. I'm guessing, given the price tag and the type of vehicle the GTR is, there would be in excess of $8,000 profit margin. Given that the GTR is hand built and not mass produced, most dealerships will be low in stock (probably 2-3 at a time at most). Dealerships will not "give away" these cars meaning you will be lucky to get any form of discount at all. (at least this is the story at Hyundai especially with the Santa Fe). I would strongly suggest going into the dealership that has the colour you want in stock and giving them a credit card closer to the end of the month, this will help you try and get a discount given it will count for that months figures providing you can take delivery before end of month. Goodluck with your purchase, i would love to own one some day.
  13. i had auto folding mirrors on my old 03 premium coupe from factory. i remember the right side had a tendency to fold a little slower than the left lol.
  14. fair point, what if you went with the projectors and somehow made them custom so they weren't as shiny? that'd be sick.
  15. That is disgusting. But for a car that's done 259,000km it's in damn good condition.. i see why the scumbags have snatched this one up. edit: i've been searching through a whole bunch of importers stock lists and can't seem to find it.. wonder if it's waiting to be advertised.
  16. the CD009 trans upgrade i did on my old coupe was awesome. such a nice gearbox compared to that cd001.. costly though - cost me $3,300 to get a new box clutch and flywheel from the U.S
  17. Joolz if you buy a manual make sure it's a 2006-2007 coupe with the CD009 transmission. Earlier models have the shit CD001 gearbox which is prone to synchro wear in some cases under 100,000km (in my case 5th and 3rd gear synchro's went at 92,000km)..
  18. rumours the Genesis coupe is coming to Oz next year FYI..
  19. Chris your car is beyond awesome. Question- Why haven't you upgraded to projector headlights?
