Bonnet Hinge - Rubbing Issue
Seano350GT replied to Seano350GT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
They seem to be alligned fine Alex, forgot to mention we checked that when we determined the hinges were the problem. -
Since the day i picked up my car i have had this issue with the bonnet rubbing with the fender and i am finally getting around to fixing it up.. The cause of this rubbing is the hinge itself, somehow it's bent causing this to happen.. Here's a picture of what the bonnet corner/fender looks like after 12 months of rubbing. It's not noticeable until you get up close, then it looks horrible. I have tried putting washers behind the bolt holding the hinge in to give the bonnet a bit of height but i can't seem to get it to line up with the fender without it rubbing and it looks silly having it too high. Now, what my problem seems to be is sourcing a new bonnet hinge. I have been in contact with my buddy Charles from B2Autodesigns in the states but he thinks the guys at OCinfiniti reckon they are different. It's hard to tell between pictures without having the hinge off the actual car but here's a pic of it on my car compared to what i found on google for a g35 hinge. I would go ahead and order a new set of hinges and pay $100 but i'd rather make sure they will actually fit the car. I also plan to get the corner touched up once i've replaced the hinges as it looks horrible and i hate it My local Nissan could be an option, but my experience with those guys has been nothing but negative. Ever since the head service manager told me i need to take the car to a panel beater to get a compression rod bush replaced... If anyone could shed some light on this that'd be great, cheers

Yeah the modification potential with the 250GT isn't much at all but if you don't need to make it fast then that doesn't really matter. -

Buying 2005 V35 250Gt Premium - Any Tips
Seano350GT replied to LegionMe's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
No worries dude, out of curiosity why the choice of a 250gt instead of the 3.5? -
no worries, if you guys are on facebook you should really join the V35 coupe drivers group. Heaps of good info to be found there, those guys in the states are mad about the stance scene and that so they know suspension fairly well and it's good because alot of the vendors from the US are on there posting up their specials and chiming in on posts about parts and shit so yeah helpful bunch of people.

D2 Coilovers Failed For Skyline
Seano350GT replied to Ahu2in's topic in General Automotive Discussion
wow - 6 months and already buggered.. what a heap of shit. it depends what you use your car for, do you track much? or just daily drive? i'm getting myself a set of BC BR racing coils this week, for just over $1000 and they are a great quality product for what my needs are. stance coils also are good, you can drop the frame on the ground if that's your thing. KW3's are very good, but cost a lot more money. check out myg37.com, those guys in the states have a shit load of knowledge on our cars. -
SPL is meant to be the bees knees, more common on track/drift cars. Daily drive the SPC's are meant to be great, i've found another vendor in the states that can get me a better price on the SPC front camber arm, he thinks he can beat $450 delivered so i'll get an email soon confirming that. If anyone wants the SPC camber kits front or back hit up - [email protected] he works directly with SPC in the states and ships world wide.

Buying 2005 V35 250Gt Premium - Any Tips
Seano350GT replied to LegionMe's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Chris Rogers would be the man to speak to about alarms Alex has already given you a good couple of points but there's a bit more to it. Take the car for a GOOD test drive, make sure you go over some rough bits of road and please for god sake don't let the owner turn up the stereo - he will be hiding noises, make sure it's OFF. Inspect the car thoroughly, then get a qualified mechanic to check over the vehicle for you. I got a RACQ check done on my car pre-purchase and came back all good so i went for it. If the car is manual - Make sure you go through ALL the gears, this is a mistake i made i only got up to 4th gear on the test drive. Drove the car 1000km home first change into 5th was a nasty crunch - Cost me a new gearbox. If you go through a dealer, be careful. Do a google search on the name, if you read a whole lot of horrible reviews then i'd go elsewhere. If you are paying cash for the car, make sure you do a REVS check (otherwise known as a PPSR) this tells you if the car is encumbered (money owed) written off or stolen. If you send me the VIN i can do this for you for free, i sell cars myself. Weigh up the differences between age km's and condition. E.G if the car is 8 years old and claims to have only done 50,000km the interior and exterior should back this up. Look for common wear signs like the bolsters on the seats, condition of brakes and the hubs. Think that's about it, goodluck! -
I didn't know if you'd leave hardcore offroad accessorising to a professional 4x4 fitter or not haha, so what exactly are you doing to it and did you end up buying anything through my work?
-
Yeah that's right i remember speaking to him about it. That's awesome, you must be excited. Whens the car getting booked in to get all your bits and peices fitted or are you doing it yourself?
-
So buy locally!
-
