  1. How bad are the roads out there?
  2. I dont have mesh on the intake side of my afm, running a k & n filter with 110,00k on the clock, no probs yet. Dont be too worried mate.
  3. Computer for sure I have a digital shift light that runs off my dash and it is identical to the power fc, yet the tacho in the dash is 600rpm higher.
  4. Hook the rpm wire up to this screw on the back of the cluster and you will be set.
  5. It means it will run 9psi minimum.
  6. The ticking WILL be coming from the solenoid, rubber mount it or deal with it! It ticks (only once on boost not in vac) becuase its trying to close the wastegate because it has not reached desired boost level. If you turn off the boost controller it will stop ticking to prove it.
  7. Hey Chris Bad news about the defect. Here are some answers; You could stick a baffle plate between the flange, just make it out of 2mm sheet yourself. Otherwise you could get a baffle that bolts into the back of the cannon should, that should get it under 90DB, then go to fj mufflers at cardiff or any good exhuast shop and get a test done. Passing the IM240 isnt easy and leaner can make it worse. Best off with the stock ecu air filter and a stock cat(used is fine) if you can get it modded to fit on your exhaust and then go for the test and see how you go, failing that you might need a full stock exhaust and/or injectors cleaned. Rta also have a testing centre at botany, they do test there on wednesdays, you might get in there earlier. Let us know how you go mate Josh

  9. I used a VL Turbo cable. Easy to cut down if its too long and adjusts easy.
  10. Item: RB30 Engine Condition: Condition is unknown. I have not opened it up so i dont know if its the standard bore. It winds over by hand and it does not appear to have a blown head gasket. It would prob suit rebuild but migh be ok? I brought it to rebuild an RB25/30, but i have given up on that plan. Price: $150 Pick up. Location: Located in Newcastle N.S.W. Engine comes with injectors, fuel rail, bottom half of plenum, exhaust maifold harmonic balancer. Missing water pump, cam gear, and timing cover.

  14. Very true GeeTR they make the rules as they go. To answer some of your questions; You can obtain a stationary noise test from any good exhaust shop. Costs around $60 As far as emissions go, the police can order you to emissions test your car at the rta inspection station at Botany or Penrith within 7 days. This does no happen that much and im not sure what happens if you live outside the city. This is free of charge. As far as pipe size goes, if it passes emissions and stationary sound test and the pipe is above the minimum ride height there really isnt grounds for a defect.
  15. Exactly, get it all done then engineer it at once. Although it only cost $40 to update the cert with my engineer.

  17. You might not be happy with a particular workshop but everyone has had a different experience with someone or other. You may not like Company A or B, but then you rave about how great Company "C" is. I have personally been to Company "C" and they were rude to me and basically pushed me back out the door, not sure if it's because I'm a girl or maybe they didnt think I was going through with the engine work. Whatever it is doesn't matter but its not fair to put someone's lively hood and or business at risk is unfair to say the least. Especially when its on a forum where they have proof and can take action. At the end of the day you keep ranting and raving on the internet and it gets you NOWHERE! Tell your friends if you will, but dont risk this forum to tell people what they prob already know! I think that SAU is a great place for info, events, buying/selling and I hope never to loose it. We've already lost the community chat due to those few idiots that should have been banned anyhow Not to mention how will anyone be able to approach anyone for future events for sponsorship, if companies are too worried about what "keyboard warriors" will post up the next week on SAU about them. I'd say most of them come on here and have a look.

  19. Oh my god! Thats unreal that some guys will put up with that! Poor guy! Back on topic I'm a Beautician, have my own business and work whenever I like. I pay myself according to whatever needs doing on the car lol!
  20. 19s will set the car off, i have them on my R33, lowered 3 inches and no scrubbing(i rolled the guards). They ride nice, and tyres are not much dearer than 18's. 19x7.5 are ok for engineering also.
