  1. Nah it's black and no P plates. Big SAU sticker on the front window.
  2. We were in the shop next door. Sorry we didn't spot you!
  3. I'm not complaining - nice pics!
  4. Two words- GO JIMMY!!!!!! I think the passion also started for me with Bathurst (and no I don't neccessarily have a thing for older men).
  5. Nah- I'm in that club too, and v glad DC will be around for another season :aroused: Now, I just need to get rid of his fiancee......
  6. It will be great to see what he can do next season- he's pulled off some sensational drives in some pretty unsensational cars. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we see him in the running for the world championship (provided we get rid of that shoe bloke!)
  7. I'm out - off to the ADMA awards at Luna Park (mmmmmmm.... FREE beer). Speaking of- I'll have to sort out the few I owe you next dinner Richard!

    Anyone Renovating?

I discovered the best invention ever last year after renovating an investment flat. The place hadn't been touched (or cleaned) since the 70s and we didn't want to spend too much cos it was going to be a rental. To make the bathroom look pretty we repainted the tiles using a special paint you can get at the hardware. It cost about $100 and turned the pink, brown and orange tiles to a nice vanilla colour We also repainted the fake wood grain kitchen cupboards using a laminate paint, total cost was about $70 but kitchen was transformed! In all it took us about 6 weeks from start to finish to get the place decent- like everyone says be prepared to give up your weekends and evenings, and avoid doing it with the other half/ family if you can help it! I personally loved it and can't wait to do another one.
  9. Hrrrm- Top Gun is on the telly. I'm having drinkies on the couch instead of at the pub. And I've just decided to add the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia/ Porsche Whatever driven by Kelly McGillis/ Charlie to the list
  10. Spotted- V Nice silver 4-door on Lyons Rd around 7, sporting some impressive looking Rated R Design stickers. (I've posted in the right place- this is the spotted thread yeh?)
  11. Only if he behaves himself and gives me enough pocket money to enter the GP Rally
  12. very high tech! Another good article- thanks I reckon I should get sick more often- gives me time to ponder and research all the important things in life!
  13. Thanks for the suggestions- I'm keen on the turbo conversion but it's a bit out of the price range atm. To answer a few of the questions..... Just cos it's a convertible doesn't mean it's a cruiser! In fact no top gives the perfect platform to create the ultimate sleeper Zed! I want to achieve power and handling in equal measures- based on Duncan and Fatz experience at the Dutton Rally this year- it's no good have something quick that you can't drive consistently in all conditions cos it's too quick. I already have a great Uni Filter Pod fitted which has already given it a nice little kick, not to mention a great sound which earned it the title of "Teh Angry Zed" at the last SAU Dyno day. The car has already seen a track (or 10) so I think brakes and suspension might be the first to get looked at. I've got a nice set of gtr brakes down in the garage which I think should do the job - the standard ones on the convertible aren't much chop (and the dealer wouldn't fit the Brembos which come on the Track model when I ordered it). Engine rev limiter is way too low, so another quick fix. Then it's just a case of counting up the pennies and seeing what the budget can stretch to! Thanks again for the suggestions- all good!
  14. Unfortunately the rest of us have been unable to forget. Pete + Flagon of Red = All Class (not!)
  15. Pffft- just cos you pay to keep me in the lifestyle I'm accustomed to doesn't mean you get to *own* the toys :slap:
  16. Andrew, I'll definitely take you up on that advice and keep trying! Unfortunately I've dealt with two locations so far and seem to get the same apathetic approach : ( I really hope they've got yours sorted out though!
  17. He probably was!
  18. I've seen quite a few, us Zed owners have balls y'know
  19. Thanks Haven't come across that one before.
  20. Wonder if it's got anything to do with the recent coroner's report on that death at the drags? I seem to remember there being another installment on that last week but missed the detail?
  21. Hmmmm- not to go too far off topic but I've had nothing but troubles in my dealings with Nissan on things that have gone wrong on the Zed (yep, a 6 month old car). Best of luck but I've had them tell me they've *fixed* numerous problems at least three times- worst of which is a horrible clunk in the steering. The noise was still there as I drove out of the dealership on my last visit (which had convieniently shut for the day!). They also told me loose wiring in the passengers door speaker was my imagination, before finally looking at it and telling me they'd fixed the problem (you guessed it, it still cuts out over bumps). IMHO- Nissan have no idea how to sell or service anything other than pulsars and patrols these days. Hope they've got your problem sorted!
  22. Seriously though- it looks like there will be a bit of a contingent heading down - we should organise an SAU catch up on one of the nights?
  23. I thought JPM would have been more your type :uhh: I'm not even going to touch that one
  24. I've never heard the words 'cute' and 'supercharger' used in the same sentance before
