  1. Have some of you REALLY never heard of BTTF? I weep for our future. And Age, if the DMC is a bit too pricey, you could aim for this... Or look out for a copy of this on eBay
  2. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...d=0&trecs=3 And for the record, the ragtop did pull teh chicks
  3. Not really spotted per say, but... http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...91-2862,00.html *sigh...
  4. A customer has given me his 993 Turbo to drive around for the weekend. The 993 was the last air-cooled 911, and the first Turbo with AWD (shared with 993 Carrera 4). Pic is example only - but same colour... Is pretty quick and good fun, but doesn't feel as solid as the newer cars - and it loves to slide, especially in the wet. Power is strong, especially on boost... but it's very manageable. Considering this is the same age as an R33 GT-R it still fetches about $150k (love that Teutonic resale!) - but if anything it shows how good the Skyline is for the money.

    R35 On J-spec

I wouldn't be putting your kidneys on eBay just yet. My $5 says grey-import GT-Rs never make it here - and that we'll follow suit (yeah, I'll accept the pun) with the EU countries noted below. "Lawyers representing Nissan have written to a number of businesses regarding their vehicle importation activities. The businesses in question are suspected of importing and/or offering for sale in the European Economic Area (EEA) Nissan vehicles originating from Japan and which are intended only for sale in Japan. The trademark owner, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, has not consented to the importation or sale of these vehicles into the EEA and either of these activities would infringe Nissan's trademark rights. These businesses have been warned not to engage in these infringing activities and, if this is ignored, Nissan will seek the support of the English courts in enforcing its legitimate rights against those businesses. The basis of this action is well established and has been confirmed in decisions of the European and English courts over a number of years. The action does not seek to prevent individual customers or businesses from buying Nissan vehicles intended for the UK or European markets. Gary Frigo, Nissan Motor (GB) Limited's Managing Director, said: "We have been made aware of a significant increase in activity in the import trade of certain vehicles, particularly the Nissan GT-R, which warrants immediate action." On the subject of the new Nissan GT-R Frigo explained further: "Nissan's number one priority is to ensure that the GT-R and its dealer network are in optimal condition to facilitate and support our customers. It will take until start of sales in March 2009 to do this. Until that time the UK will have no GT-R trained technicians, no established GT-R parts supply and, most crucial of all, the GT-R will not be covered by a manufacturer's warranty." Nissan remains committed to providing customers with the best possible vehicles, in terms of value and specification, within the context of the regulations for safety and emissions laid down by the UK and European governments."

  7. I've seen the same Rosso 599 about 4 times in the last week. Has a 2-letter plate (WM or something). In CBD and around Albert Park. Also, when we had the DB9 at Aston getting brake pads changed yesterday, Lindsay was collecting his Rolls DHC. Just the thing for Christmas.
  8. * sigh You all f*cking loved the stupid cars. Admit it. Hands up if you won a trophy at AutoSalon.... Anyone? Main thing to check is drive-line - ensure there are no vibrations over 80km/h from the transfer case. They sometimes fall out of alignment. Engines are good, but do need to be taken care of (warm them up, change oil every 5,000km etc) - and being Fiats, they love to be revved. Make sure the window winders work too - they are a bitch to fix. Best mod you can do is tyres - stud pattern is the same as Vitara, Sierra, Rocksta, F100 and Jeep TJ - so there are lots of second hand rim options available. Good and cheap to buy, run and fix. Lots of spares available through Fiat, Lancia and Lada parts suppliers.
  9. Better judgment says I shouldn't reply to this thread, but anyway... Your chances are slim at best. Here's a few options... 1. Join P1 (it's the Christmas gift that keeps on giving!) 2. Come work for me (I need a delivery/carwash helper in Santuary Cove at the moment - email me if you are available) 3. Become a respected journalist (you need to learn that you are is abbreviated as you're and not your first) 4. Catch me on a good day here in Melb (few and far between at the moment, but I have been known to throw the keys to the SL65 to Brisby...) 5. Work for Audi So you know how easy it isn't... One of my customers went to Audi in his own F355 and still had to actually order a car and then wait 2-weeks for them to offer him a test drive. Supervised. Just round the block. Same guy rang me to say mine was stable but had a bit of wind noise at over 200kmh. I know which way is more fun
  10. Walks among us.
  11. Very deserved Wayne - you rule!

    Thanks....

Yeah good work kids. Event volunteers FTW - I still think the SAU cheer squad at Dutton was the best part of the weekend.
  13. That grey R8 is one of mine too! BTW - Shaun & Sunshine - speak to Brad about the 360 CS. You NEED to go in this.
  14. You should spend less time eating kippers down the rub-a-dub and more time reading history books...
  15. Hehe - it's funny too, the only other car to scare the absolute shit out of me while driving is your Silver Bullet. Only it sounds like a sewing machine in comparison. Maybe I'll bring it along on Tuesday... Check out this one on Carsales - even has a cage! http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRAR...csn5117595.aspx
  16. Wow Ash - you finally hit puberty. Our little boy is growing up...
  17. Yeah - that's the Sienna crew You can see a TR behind the Murch and a 355 over the road. Here is the 997 Turbo Cab Taxi - and yes, yellow seatbelt and yellow interior options were ticked...
  18. I liked the story of the guy who snuck up on a speed camera car, stole the number-plate and fitted it to his car. Then proceeded to get booked speeding a large number of times. Hilarity ensued That said, Troy's idea is better.
  19. Yep - grey Lambo ragtop is one of mine. Those rims are the standard 997 Turbo items. You can spec different style wheels - like the GT3 ones - when you order the car. Or you can have the dark bits body coloured, or painted black. There was a yellow 997 Turbo Cab at Porsche with yellow wheel inserts... that was a bad call. That black one is owned by the brother of the guy we picked up our silver one from. I'm just excited my 360CS is back in town. F*CK what a noise! It makes the Lambo sound like a sewing machine! Race Mode FTW
  20. If you even have to ask this question - you should stop living in denial and get the yellow one.
  21. Cool! 60's onward Lancia sporting models feature HF badging - for High Fidelity - hence the Hi-Fi plates.
  22. I saw 4x new Camaro prototypes on Flinders St this morning. Flanked by new Mustangs and SS Commodes. Cars were white with black camo. Cool!
  23. Haha - that's Craig Dean from Mustang Motorsports. He's a great guy.
  24. Thanks again for your help Geoff - great article too! I'll be sure to call on you again * and no, had not heard about that Audi mishap. Our R8 and the Ford GT are out at QLD Raceway today Talk soon J
  25. Great review Geoff! Thanks again and I'll certainly call on you next time I need a car moved.
