  1. Whiplash - nah, no display confirmed as yet... but I've been speaking to the organisers, so something may happen. Anyhoo - I saw a black Vanquish S with the DB9 S rims in Southbank today. I forget this is a 7-year old car as it still looks tough. Also, was driving the Weltmeister racing Cayman around (I spotted TB in the city!) - sounds cool, handles well - but by golly it lacks power Am getting used to the R-Tronic in the R8 too. Needs to be treated like a manual so that gear changes are quick and smooth. I found the ultimate 'wanker button' too - leaves the LED engine bay lights on when you lock it with the remote. Cool! J
  2. Yep - that's my GT
  3. Ah - is that when Matt took it for a test drive? Such a cool car!
  4. Showroom shmowroom - that one is LHD. Audi have a red press car - but there sure aren't many around. I haven't seen one on the road. Such a cool car. R-Tronic is interesting and takes a bit of getting used to. Is like the Ferrari F1 - and needs to be treated as a manual rather than a flappy-paddle auto.
  5. Or perhaps when good Aarons go bad - twin-of-Rampant says YES to bad Evos J
  6. Leewah - that's my Gallardo! R8 is quite amazing. I am in the process of arranging bookings for it over the next few weeks. Was in so late then out so early this morning - some quick shots for you...
  7. R8 R-tronic arrived this evening. So cool! Only took it for a quick spin, but very fun and easy to throw around. R-tronic shift is OK... SMG like in the M3/Smart Car as well as padles. Full auto in Sport mode is not for city driving. The 6-speed car is in Sydney so look forward to trying that out. Certainly feels Audi more than Lambo, but you could live with this every day. Will pop some photos up tomorrow. BTW - a light up engine bay is the new hotness.
  8. Pack and Send. They pack stuff and then send it.

    Need Help

    you're and while we're at it... that's
  10. Drove a Vanquish S today - very cool! Feels more angry than the DB9 but still a big car. Was twitchy in the wet.
  11. There's quite a few goodies - but I think we all might be too late. Look out for the car at the wholesalers...
  12. Doesn't anyone else find it funny that the Brisby Family Tree has no branches?
  13. Have you taken the coffee cup out?
  14. Talking to him this morning, his 100k is more like 200k. I thought asians were good at maths... In reality though, without going for a 1000HP mega engine - what is a reasonable budget for a rebuild? 5k, 10k? For those that have done it - what are lessons learned. What parts are must haves, what is going too far? Discuss.
  15. Great news Ni - congrats to you both
  16. Sure - this probably should go to the 'for sale' thread, but that would mean I would have to stray from my Vic forum bookmark. And that's just not me. Plus this is a good chance for some general discussion on a GT-R build. Anyhoo - Golgo wannabe, WAYKUN is a genuine 1997 series 3 GT-R. It was brought in to Australia as a personal import in 1998 and is now with the second Australian owner. The car is in great condition with lots of nice goodies - and has been very well cared for... But it's done over 100,000kms and is perhaps a little tired under the bonnet. So... if anyone is after a great base for a GT-R build up, let me know. The owner is looking for $25k. The car hasn't been pranged or raced (apparently WAYKUN is Chinese for 'i'm a hack') and runs and drives really well. It's available for inspection by appointment. I can have it located at my showroom in Richmond if that's easier. BTW - the reason for selling the purple GT-R is to buy a red Evo. Everyone wants to be like Mike... So - what's good and what's bad with a high KM R. What will need to be rebuilt and what options are there. Discuss!
  17. I think the wording in the original post is excellent.
  18. This one sure was...

  20. Needs more Golgo.
  21. Poite - them's slick rimses. BTW - ground-mount tripods are ace
