  1. I replaced my 35w x 4 Japanese head unit with a Pioneer 50w x 4. The yellow 'battery' cable is fairly thin, just a tad thicker then the other wires in the loom. Is there any need to replace this with a thicker cable from the battery, or would this be sufficient to power the head unit?
  2. You need a feeler gauge, only costs abuot $10 or so from any auto store. It's basically a clip with a whole bunch of different thickness pieces of metal, that you can use to check the gap of the plug. To lower the gap, lock the plug in a vice and tap the top very lightly with a hammer.
  3. Instead of taping my coil packs, I gave the metal bracket a couple of coats of epoxy paint to act as an insulator, so a) it didn't earth very well with the rest of the engine, and B) to stop the spark from jumping to there. But I dont think any of my coils were leaking in the first place, it was more a precautionary measure since I was changing the plugs anyhow.
  4. The stock skyline interior looks fantastic. Very c.ockpit (christ word filter wont let me type c.ockpit ...), classy feel to it. I dont get why people paint it all different colours... Oh well, whatever floats your boat I suppose.
  5. Hehe guys the ball and spring design isn't something new, it's been around for a while. Still a great controller thought, mine is going fantastic, no spiking, constant boost that builds fast.
  6. Awesome I'll give him a buzz. Mostly gutter rash and a tiny bit of corrosion in the center on mine.
  7. Hi Daniel. Nice pics! Where in Adelaide did you get your wheels reconditioned, how much did it cost and how long did it take? I'm thinking of doing the same for mine...
  8. More power I just finished installing the dump / cat, took me 5 hrs getting the studs on the new pipe was a damn nightmare, so tight. Got there in the end though without breaking anything, did strip one the bolts a bit but I can still get it off and replace it if need be. Seems to have more power, I'm guessing 10-15 more rwkw. Just need to keep an eye for any exhaust leaks over the next few days. EDIT: One thing I noticed is that the boost doesn't seem to come on as violently, which almost makes it seem slower in a way because you dont get the sudden push. Is this normal with a larger dump? (I assume larger dump pipe decreases lag?)
  9. Hi everyone, I currently have a 96 Series 2 manual GTST. Mods are - 3" cat back Exhaust Ball & Spring Boost controller set to 10PSI Have a 3" dump/down pipe & Hi flow cat from BATMBL that i'm installing over the weekend. After that is done, I'm thinking either PowerFC or FMIC for next mod. Any suggestions/reasons for one or the other? Or other suggestions?
  10. If it's vibration that makes no diff whether clutch is engaged or not, it's probably your engine / gearbox mounts. Check that there isn't metal on metal anywhere (one of the mounts could be broken and resting on metal)
  11. Cheers. How hard is an oil temp sensor to hook up, if anyone's done it?
  12. No one knows?
  13. Looking at buying a few 2" "Auto Gauge" gauges for a DIN slot mount. Are they any good? Looking at this style of boost gauge: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...804754&tc=photo Will also get a A/F gauge and Voltmeter. Autometer equivilents are ~$120 each. These seem well priced. Any thoughts?
  14. Ahh nice, I should learn to read better.
  15. Looks great, but can that paint handle the temperature the calipers will reach under heavy braking?
  16. Excuse my ignorance, but doesn't the powerFC do everything the SAFCII does and more? Why would you have both? (Please correct me if I'm mistaken )
  17. ... and what was the point of the above post? Do you really think a car like that would NOT have been trashed? It's got a roll cage for crying out loud. Racing seats. EDIT: Btw I'm not saying that it isn't a nice car and for that price it would stll be cheaper to buy it and do some serious repairs, rather then build one up from scratch.
  18. Nice car but guarenteed thrashed to hell. Also I note the listing doesn't show the km's the car has done.
  19. What excess do you guys have to pay? The thing that worries me about third party is some dickhead bogan with no insureance, no money smashing into me, and I wont have a hope in hell of getting any money out of him.
  20. Wow that's an awesome price for a grade 4 95 skyline , and it has a few mods too. Wish you were selling in 6 months time dude. Oh well free bump!
  21. Fair enough happen to have a pic of s2 interior think i've only seen series 1.
  22. hmm why a series 2? I was under the impression that series 1 is better, more durable turbo etc?
  23. Yes he got fired, and the owner is taking legal action against the dealer.
  24. http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showt...25&pagenumber=1 Might take a few tries to get to the page it's really being hammered.
  25. GTR would be better for performance and handleing without a doubt. It depends on whether you want a newer, nicer looking (subject to opinion of course) car with a nicer interior, or an older car that probably done more K's, but has better speed and handleing. EDIT : just beat me to the post ex-static . Yes, my personal preferance would be the R34 as well.
