The EPA tester only tests the exhaust, he dosen't care abour mods, as long as the car is under the limit (in vic its 40dB) So yeh, he places a microphone about half a meter away from the exhaust and accelerates to about 5K(for me at least), that's it. They are sticking out a tad, nothing noticeable unless you stand infront of the car, i was under the impression that any time of tyre stretch was illegal ie, if the rim was 'poking' out of the tyre, it was illegal. Oh haha the cop chased me down because he saw my P plate and said that he had heard a blow off valve.

I beg to differ, my coilied 34 handled so so so so so much better than my stock 34

Bringing back an old topic, I don't think highway patrol care about 'poke' as long as the wheel is sitting pretty much in the guard Two officers checked my car yesterday after they pulled me over for a random check and said nothing about my stretch or poke. However it may depend on the police officers too.

I run 18X10.5 on my rears on a 255(stretched) Sits pretty flush with the guard and i run18X9.5 on my fronts on a 225(stretched) Also sits flush, both wheels are +30 offset. Although camber and guard roll(for the rear) is needed to avoid scrub

Are you still doing this decal thing? I'm keen to see pictures once it's done! If you haven't done it why not spend that money on some good coilovers and a pair of sway bars?

Hey guys, does anyone know a way to clean matte black wheels and how to maintain that clean/shine? No matter what wheel cleaner i use my wheels always seem to have a coat of dust which makes them look dirty!

Hey mate, not sure if this is gonna help but i went to a dealer last week to look at a gtt and it had a pop up screen which also didn't work, the dealer said that only 1/10 of the skylines with pop up screens actually had a WORKING pop up screen, he also lead me to an auto gt which also had a screen and that didn't work. I'm sure he was exaggerating with the 1/10 bit but yeh it put's it into perspective Don't be too pissed off if it dosent work

Thing is they won't, now that the car scene is so huge in Australia, it's extra money for them, highway patrol get commission from EPA for example, cops would rather get money of an import driver than an aussie car driver, which sucks! And yeh hooning is stupid, only a select few spoil it for the rest of us.

Sorry i didn't get to reply, what i did was i grabbed a steel plate and cut out the stencil off the gasket in between the cat and piping, i then drilled a few holes into the stencil and replaced the gasket with that steel plate(stencil) Made me slower than a daihatsu charade but it made my car sound like my aunties camry. I just passed at 88dB! Which means that pretty much anything aftermarket, in relation to exhaust, is illegal, so guys even if you think your exhaust is illegal, it's not.

Highway patrol are terrible when it comes to imports!

Hey guys, My N/A got EPA'd a couple weeks back and i don't have my stock exhaust Is anyone willing to let me borrow their stock exhaust for a few hours for my test? I'm happy to pay too. All i need is the exhaust from the tips to the cat(but not including the cat) I'm located in the South East. Cheers.
