  1. Sounds like a good plan Ricky. The WRX seats had to be cut and modified a fair bit then welded to the DR30 seat rails to get them low enought for me @ 6'4". Wouldn't recommend it Cheers
  2. Hey Warren I rallied in WA for about 12 years Had to give up as the kids got older (them wanting to eat and all) Ever done the Zig Zag Hillclimb? My claim to fame was beating Greg Carr , Colin Bond and Ross Dunkerton up there in a time of 2.14. Hmm sideways @ 160kph on ballbearing gravel strewn bitumen...mind you car crapped the front suspension on a yump the very next stage
  3. Thanks Guys Appreciate the comments especially as this has been a mission....lot harder than I expected. Not sure on the wheels as they came on the car. The seats are out of a 2003 WRX crash test car so were virtually perfect unless the dummy crapped himself. Rears were trimmed to match Car is fitted with Konis and Nolethane bushes all round and drives like a new car Underneath has been fully proofcoated after minor rust plating. The examiner remarked it was immaculate underneath and called a few of the other inspectors over for a look So, That's stage 1 complete so I need to decide what to do next. I just want a nice streeter to use in classic rallies etc
  4. Finally got my DR30 on the road Seems like it's taken forever Here are some pics from yesterday
  5. Yeah your car makes too much power Give some to me!!! I missed out on buying your car when it was here in Perth but baulked and brought in my own stocker. Wish I'd bought it now as I'm up to the price he was asking spent on mine and it's not even licensed yet (maybe today ...fingers crossed) Yep love your car Never met a horsepower I didn't like
  6. I got a nice DR30 he can have for $20K
  7. I see an imaculate 78 Skyline on the Freeway some mornings. Today it was parked in the breakdown lane. Pity I was in the RH lane and couldn't get over or I would have stopped and left a note to offer to buy it
  8. Terry Did you keep the Maxima long? Kids needed more room and I traded my R31 GTS for a new 1994 model...biggest mistake I ever made
  9. Yep I'm 54 later this month. So far I've owned S54 C110 C211 R30 R31 R32 R33 R34 V35 OK I've been a Skyline tragic for 35 odd years before they became trendy Last few posts have upped the average
  10. 23 when I bought a brand new C211
  11. Not quite. We're into tasteful mods wether they be for show and / or go. It's just that the car you started this thread with was one of the tackiest R33's we've seen. The dealer would love to see the back of that car for sure
  12. Harsh but accurate Sorry , but to me that's the worst R33 I've seen and from 20 odd posters here I've yet to see any positive comments. If Skyline enthusiasts don't like it what does that tell you. Be fully sick in an episode of Pizza though Gee picked at random what about this and save yourself $5k ? http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...&__Qpb=true Or this http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...&__Qpb=true
  13. Can anyone advise me of someone in Perth who can fit Side Intrusion bars into my DR30's doors?
  14. Just a quick question Guys How do you operate the hazard lights on a DR30? Taking the car for licensing and going through my checklist cannot get them to work Don't worry guys Was operating the correct switch but had a dirty contact...all fixed. Wish me luck tomorrow
  15. Chrome mags should only be available for Lancer GL's
  16. Need some "Before" pics Lincoln
  17. OK thanks for the info
  18. I've owned both Personally I preferred the R33 but really it comes down to the condition/deal of cars on your short list. Both are great cars.
  19. Someone is selling a set of adjustible castor rods for a S13. I was trying to find out if they would bolt up before buying them. Cheers
  20. Can anyone tell me if S13 adjustable caster rods will fit an R30?
  21. Got my car back from the panel shop finally and was checking intercooler space. Not too keen to cut the hell out of the centre support so may look at a 600x150 intercooler mtd low down in the airstream. Seems to me only the lower half of a 600x300 would work in a street car anyway
  22. I'd be keen to know the answer to your question too I'm in the process of building my car for classic rallies. So far I've installed koni shockies to get it licensed and have selby front and rear swaybars to fit. Not sure what springs to fit plus need to get adjustible camber tops
  23. Thanks Josh I was thinking of getting this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=150349195617 Is that the small or large version?
  24. Thanks Dennis Does that intercooler have the inlet and outlet on the same side? Bit hard to see from the pic. If I go for a front mount will look at a cross flow and shorten up the inlet piping
  25. Anyone suggest the best way to upgrade the DR30 intercooler? Should I just fit a new frontmount or is there an upgrade available to replace the std intercooler with a better one while retaining the std position in front of the left wheel? I'd prefer to keep the std look and avoid too much cutting but not at the expense of efficiency Cheers
