  13. sure it isnt your silcone joins on your cooler and piping? ..mine did this for a while until i blew the hose off completely. double check your clamps ... start your car ..and grab some CRC ..spray the edges.. and if any of it gets thru . your idle will change.. meaning the crc is getting thru into your inlet.. meaning u have a poor join in the silcone or your clamps are on c0ck eyed just my thoughts
  14. my coolers black ..and the temp differences on the end tanks from turbo side to inlet side.. is greatly different.... even after long drives ..i did 1400kms in 5days doing a round trip from melbourne to moama, echuca, adeliade.. and the cooler temp .. by touch remained the same ..even on 39deg day temperatures.. ppl remarked black absorbs heat .....i dont think thats a real issue when your cooler is being buffled by ambient air .... ... and i dont think it could absorb that much heat when its not near any direct heat source...well with mine anyways. and its not like its in direct sunlight all the time either. :kick: Matt

  17. u see .. i come from a speedway back ground ....at most my tire pressures are 20psi on the right rear on a 10inch wide tire....a realm were sidebite rules .. hence the pressures being as low as 12psi on the left rear ..to induce sidewall flex...but thats not really what i'm trying to make a point about...anyways over inflating to me ....can cause a tire dislodging from the bead on the rim from lateral loading.. .. over inflating to the point where ur tire balloons the tread ..which is basically the levels ppl are suggesting in the latter of this post , gives you a lesser and much narrower contact patch on the road....unsafe and totally not needed. tire wear rate doesnt change if u run 30 or 50psi ..just the amount that gets worn does from driving friction ..i'd rather burn the entire width of a tire up ..than just a bit in the middle. u need a certain amount of give in the tire thru its pressure is a nessecity.. driving with stonehard pressures doesnt give u any. on my coupe i run 32psi cold all round at the very most. on at the moment 205 60 tire. anyways thats just my opinion on the matter.   18. main reason i didnt go the 120deg bend at the plenum was i didnt have a catch can at the time .. and keeping the flow symetric to where it comes up from teh cooler .. i might do the 120deg bend for next time. Matt
  19. fair call .. but i dont think anyone really pushed the redtop motor extensively enough to see how the 12port goes example ..12port holden blue motor ..... flows better when done right compared to a red motor head. but thats exhaust.. so its probably a bad example.. anyways.

In theory they COULD Flow more ... people would of heard they flow less.. due to the inlet tract butterfly system they have on teh sandwich plate between the inlet runners and cylinder head. match porting them and removing the butterflies and either putting the plate back in place or using the silvertop plenum and inlet runners.. it been seen already a very dramatic increase in torque and response to more boost EG. FATGTSR .. did this mod recently and went from making 185rwkw - 15psi and 140rwkw - 8psi on nearer max out fuel system to with GTR injectors to 225rwkw - 14psi ( under 12:1 a/f ratio) and 170rwkw - 6psi thats a shit load of difference. although the fuel system limited it as well as the inlet design as well. but before u think about dropping redtop on to silvertop etc etc.... the heads are NOT interchangable from redtop to silver and vise versa.. some stud postioning points are different.. they wont line up.. so if i had a silvertop to begin with i wouldnt even think about a swap, would just a pain in the arse. just so that clears that up. anyways. Roy? u want my silvertop long motor?
