  3. Member of what and how do we join lol?
  4. No worries glad I can add something and be of help. What's the go with the Japlink night on 5/7/13?
  5. Might be able to make something up.
  6. Some handy links for yourself. Q&A from Motoring Enthusiast Conference (MEC) http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/eastern-creek-qa.pdf Gazette list as mentioned in MEC http://www.confederationofmotorclubs.org.au/pdf/gazettal.pdf VSB14 http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx VSI 06 http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi_06_-_guidelines_for_light_vehicle_modifications_nov_2007.pdf
  7. May be a little hard as its a paper copy or PDF. Anyone got an easy way and I'll do it.
  8. Just printed VSI 06 and appropriate sections of VSB 14, got a lot of reading to do! Might hi-light some good sections for future reference.
  9. Hmmmm yea I just read that too lol. I'm sure they used to say not to go off VSB14. Anyway they currently do use VSB 14 AND VSI 06 lol. Apparently as a result of the motoring enthusiast conference at EC there is meant to be a booklet coming out in regards to modifications to make it easier/simpler for us to understand what needs certification and what doesn't etc.
  10. ACT goes on VSB14 which other states are looking to adopt. NSW still goes on VSI 06, which is very unclear. Plus in the mean time everyone has adopted their own little rules etc that they like to "enforce". Another interesting read for NSW car enthusiasts is the notes on the motor enthusiast conference.
  11. Lol, in NSW apparent any non standard mod except window tint and wheels needs to be engineered. Mods like bigger turbo etc definitely do as it increased the cars power by more than 15% and changes the emissions. This is from what I have looked up and it been told by police and RTA inspectors. In saying that there is no clear set of rules anywhere, it's a disgrace. Currently everyone is going off what they have heard, so one blue slip inspector states from mounts are fine as long as you haven't cut anything to fit it and others say it needs to be engineered no matter what. But yes it worrying that I could go spend over $700 and still be "defectable".
  12. Yea but HWP cars record everything now so you'd be screwed lol.
  13. I decided to do some more of the mods I want to do before getting it engineered. Just got a blue slip and now the car is back in the road again
  14. I just spoke to Robert, he seems great. He's coming to look at my car Friday. Will post how we go.
  15. Ok and if you don't mind me asking, what mods are you getting engineered?
  16. Awesome, cheers and may the force be with you lol, we need it.
  17. It's actually already registered with the 25 I believe when the swap was done ages ago they used a loop hole that the GTRs are a 2.6TT so therefore the 25T is still smaller than the biggest engine for that shape/model. According the RTA guy that defected it, any mod other than rims and window tint need engineering lol, if I wasn't so pissed off I would have laughed in his face. The main issue I'm having is that the rules are not clear and distinct. They are foggy at best and there is not one place with the rules. One workshop goes off one set of rules and one workshop goes off another. One document says "minor" modifications don't require engineers reports but the definition is shit and doesn't really specify what a minor mod is. Some people are going off VSB14 which is not in affect yet. It's a disgrace at best. I called one work shop who said a front mount us fine as long as the reinforcement bar isn't cut then I called another who said as soon as they heard front mount "you need an engineers report". Good luck and I'll post how I go.
  18. Howdy all, After being defected and told I need an engineers report for an intercooler and piping i am now looking for an engineer in the Sydney area, I have the list of all engineers from the RMS site and i was speaking with gforce in Narellan and will speak to Robert Elliot in Bringelly shortly.but can someone recommend one that was easy to work with and/or someone who has used the above engineers (or tried to)? The car isn't crazy it's an R32 with RB25DET and 33 box, GT3071 or GT3076 can't remember, intercooler, exhaust, pod filter covered, exhaust, 350z rims, and a few adjustable arms and coilovers underneath. Thanks in advance
  19. R200 is Silvia diff isn't it?
  20. Cool thanks. Anyone put R32 rear subframe and diff etc in?
  21. Dragging up an old thread here, but just wanted to know what similarities the a31 cefiro shares with skylines and Silvia's etc mainly engine/drive train and suspension. Obviously RB engine but are most ones using and R33 box? Do they use a skyline diff? I believe most suspension is similar to Silvia rather than skyline, is that true? Are they 4 or 5 stud then? Cheers
  22. Thanks for that, what about rear strut brace?
  23. I too would be interested in a more modern looking dash or even just the cluster
  24. Hi peeps, just want to know if R32 GTST and GTR strut braces are the same? Will an aftermarket strut brace for a 32 GTR fit my 32 GTST? Thanks in advance
