$700 is very very steep. myself and a mate did the springs + shocks along with the pineapples ourselves. it took us a lazy 3 hours. i'm sure most of the users on this forum would have the basic socket, spanner, trolley jack, shifting spanner, axle stands etc. definately something that you could save money on. most workshops want the car for at minimum the whole day so that they can work on the car between every little job. to me that's more hassle than its worth - since id rather do it myself than wait around for the entire day without a car. i am still waiting on my front camber bushes which wasnt included in my delivery from jamex and will need a press to get the rest of the babies in. *any idea where the wednesday/thursday delivery is happening gary?

ok guys - sorry for my lack of presence, i'm borrowing the internet so to speak. mig3t's payment has been recieved. and i am awaiting on the 2nd half of m3x's payment to clear. as soon as that comes through - i will place the order to partsco. cheers eug -

i've always loved the mx5 ever since i got raped by one at skidpan. they are seriously like a go-kart.

we had to use the tops off the old dust covers to fill a gap on the struts. anyone else had this issue? other than that - i gave it a good solid run through some nice roads and the comfort vs. handling factor is amazing. definately some solid engineering behind the re-valving and setup. just waiting on the front camber bits and hopefully i can get the rest put in and re-aligned. cheers gary!!

can i also ask that everyone provides me with a detailed delivery name and address. since these are coming internationally i suggest: Name # XXXX Street, Suburb Postcode City, State, Australia this way it prevents any confusion and minimizes mistakes. chicane: i had mine installed at a reputable exhaust place. here's a breakdown of what i did. - install headers and flange welded on - replace all manifold bolts - fit new catylytic convertor - tig weld temperature sensor and 2 flanges welded on. - appropriate gaskets for the cat - fit catback exhaust - and removal of the standard one. total = $250 and took about a few hours. *this is not inclusive of parts. the catback exhaust i already had, and i bought the cat convertor for $140 hope that helps -
i take it you dont have the headers in yet... could take a sneak peek at mine i suppose

nicely put... my 225 yokohama street tyres are better than my 255 cheapo tyres.

Gary, front camber kit wasnt included in my delivery. can you please check your dispatcher or invoice sheets. cheers eug

ok guys.. just got off the phone with partsco. prices are as seen in the first post. i will PM each of you later tonight with your order and the total and my account details. if you could confirm EVERYTHING (please double check) and provide me with a delivery address. let's make this a textbook transaction. cheers eug -
it's on like donkey kong... i'll take out my class for sure

haha.. definately not Reggie. I will give that a go - although i'd expect the gains to be marginal? Everyone loves a quick squirt every now and then, but I would consider myself fairly tame whilst driving out and about. anymore ideas? I've just had my timing belt changed earlier than required, along with a major service. Nothing was really spotted, fuel pump wasnt changed (yet), water pump isnt changed (yet) either. Injectors aren't leaking, and I run 98RON premium.

wider tyres = heavier upsprung weight = more power required to drive them = more fuel... i'd expect that the fuel required wouldnt be that much noticeable. however 255s are a big step up from the standard 205s

35 fronts, 32 rear (psi)

alright guys... my fuel consumption has gone up shits creek over the past month or two. doesnt seem to vary much from city to highway. with aircon off i am getting around 400-450km till when the lights come on (so about 50L). aircon on definately around 400km'ish to when the light comes on (50L) o2 sensor has been changed (NTK) less than 2000km old has coby extractors, 2.5" catback exhaust shifting around 3-4000rpm my theory is that with summer around it's not going to be too good for fuel economy. i am also running 235 front tyres and 255 rear tyres, more power required to get off the line. this roughly equates to 11-12L/100km (which is reasonable) - but i am just reminiscing about the days where i'd get 550-600km till the light comes on. i am running a little rich, any ideas on improving fuel economy? - bar running stock exhaust etc. - safc + tune? - running narrower tyres anymore brainstorming? cheers eug

the R33 GTS25 uses an RB20DET gearbox. that might help you in your searches... an entry level one should be up to the task.

WTF?! how'd they do that jump at the end? that is damn cool - although it seems mainly for comfort. how does something like that fair in motorsports? you wouldnt be able to feel the road so to speak.

Shimmming Up The Viscous Diff Project Underway.
Eug replied to CEF11E's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
any reason for this? does your drift track favor turning one way over the other? (i.e more left turns than right) or am i missing the point completely? -
it's not his car. i'd expect that since the motor is in japan, it most probably would be using a d-jetro or something
