ok lets try and bring some order to this discussion as i know the owner of the "mines gtr" (complete legend i may add) and saw it get built from the ground up . I have also had the pleasure of seeing many of the receipts ......ouch, but it was done properly

ok engine$$$$$ lots and lots not 25k

the advertised price for the mines engine is a rather standard affair. If you want bigger valves, bigger oil pumps, cc head and so on you have to pay and it aint cheap. and that price also dosnt include a block, head or a crank($10,000). so when someones says you can buy a mines crate engine for 25k ask for a few. Oh that also dosnt include turbos, manifolds or plenum oh they also cost money coz Mr mines does some nice work to those aswell.

Suspension and you thought the engine was expensive. Start looking around at what top quality suspension costs and you will realise this aint cheap, oh and not your HKS hyper dampers either lol.

Mines were also limited in what they could use on their car. If it aint a mines product it aint on their car. This car has the best products from every tuner in japan. Mr mines himself said that it feels faster then his car when he drove it, but because one is in japan and one is in oz its kinda hard to race them together(damn that big bit of ocean)

There is more and more that i could keep going with but its all to hard, yes you can go and buy a more powerfull gtr and it will go very fast in a straight line. But will it stop, turn and then go fast again ??? There is a reason Fred Gibsons old r32 gtrs ran about the same power. And they were unbeatable at bathurst. Power means almost nothing unless you need to win an autosaloon dyno comp or need to brag on forums

Total build cost was well over 300k and that dosnt include labour and frieght costs for all parts from japan. Was it worth it ??? who knows but it does lap a few of our circuits faster then his friends gt2(alot faster) and he paid 400k for the gt2 . Is it worth 170k to buy now....... depends what ya want. but it does look way cool and sounds like no other gtr you have ever heard.

Not to sure if you can buy a 360 for under 200 000 in australia, all those pics are of cars o/s and the steering wheel seems to be on the wrong side. Also the 360 is known as being a pig to drive fast. But if you can get me one for 170 i will buy one

I saw the car being built and modified, it's defintely not the genuine MINES car... however, it's unreal none the less. :)

Are you 100% autosyle own it? I'm quite sure they are SELLING it on behalf of the corner, rather than own it... as they do with a lot of their cars. Unless they recently purchased it off him.

bingo

This has always amazed me Tosh.....ive never come across a smartarse on the internet, whose been willing to be a smartarse to me in real life....why???

Saw the Autostyle "Mines" 34 2 days ago at Wakefield putting down some laps.

It was struggling

The car sounded fantastic on the straight but was sluggish through the infield. It washed off bucket loads of corner speed. It was really struggling with turn 8(the one that leads onto the back straight) and I swear he was grabbing second throughout the whole day. There are two reasons for this, either the driver was inexperienced (perhaps a recent purchaser) or the car had terrible street tyres with no grip.

I managed to get a close look at the 34 at the track at the thing looks freaking sweet. Love the carbon detail on the spoiler and the overall FAT look of the car.

get this....I lapped HIM!!!!!!!!

TWICE!!!!!!!!

Once on his warm up lap and once on his cool down lap  . You owe me $100.00 Tosh

Overall, I think the car is one sweet looking machine but I do think the genuine Mines 34 is miles ahead of it on the track.

Is there anyone on here from Autostyle or someone knows the owner confirm what troubles it was having on Tuesday?

BTW, I have a short video of the Autostyle 34 here. How do I attach it to my post?

From my understanding it was there for a test drive for a potential buyer.

So not really there in a full race sense i wouldnt imagine. Test driving for a buyer doesnt mean you go out and ring the a$$hole out of the thing.

There was an issue after it came off the track late in the arvo, but the car was soon off and running again and was driven back to its home (where ever that is)

Would like to know what lap times it has laid down in a more competitive nature. Was really hoping to see it come down for Circuit Battle on Thurs. But its a busy time of year :P

106.18 was the fastest lap of the day, not sure where you think 2nd was getting grabbed? the car was to stiff for turn 8 and was bouncing on the bumpy surface. Also a little undertyred as well I think as it wasnt on full slicks, probably a second a lap in it there. Not so set up for wakefield but cant really complain as it was only 1.2 seconds off the evo 8 GTP car that was there and he was in full race trim and its one of the cars that are at the pointy end of teh gtp series.

But still not bad for a car that was driven to the track(with aircon on) and then driven home (with air con on) would like to see other street cars do the same lol.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
