I wouldn't pay over $250.. Have seen one at $170 a couple of weeks ago and one fro $220 a week before that..(In SAU classifieds)

If it's for a 32 it makes more sense to pay $250-$350 for an ARC replacement as the 34 unit srequire modding

I am probably fitting an FMIC in the next few months. If/when I do mine will be up for sale. Keep your eyes peeled on the forums.

Hi Nightcrawler,

how soon are u going to get FMIC?

and wat kinda price are u after for ur stockie?

yeah I am keen to know why too Bob. I changed my cooler on my S15 with standard turbo, and it allowed for heaps of extra timing and leaning out of fuel.

ZXFIRE - I hope to change it within a month - have just ordered my cooler kit. Will be looking for the normal price around town - I would think around $200 plus delivery. I am in SA.

I pretty much agree regarding changing the cooler for the stock turbo. The stock turbo doesn't really like being over 10psi for very long. At this boost, the stock intercooler is OK. That is, it's not great, but it's not too restrictive. I measured a 1.5 psi drop.

Basically, what he's saying is that some people just change the exhaust cooler, etc and stop there. It's not really worth it, like you spend 1k on intercooler. At that boost, it might only give you a few extra kw, like what's 10 kw?

When you get to a/m turbos and run 1.3 bar or something, that's when the stock cooler would be terrible.

ive got abo bobs old 34 cooler on my car.

the seat of the pants feel was similar to the difference between driving it on a hot day compared to a cool night.

as for the cooler being taller. you can only just stretch (in want for a better word) the plastic inner guard around the 34 cooler to fit. albeit with a bit of manipulation

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
