If you want to see more stageas and talk to people first hand, come see us all at the meeting next sunday.

Thats probably the best thing to do really. We can all tell about buying them etc, and one guy only just bought his so great to talk to.

I've just been thru it all (except i'm already in QLD)

Insurance is about $1k from Just Cars and Famous. If your over 25 you may get it cheaper from shannons, but theres not that many insurance compnies who cover imports. There is a thread on here somewhere about stagea/skyline insurance so thatsanother good place to look.

To get a car from interstate, you'd best talk to the dealer(if you go thru one & I'd Highly recommend motovation imports, prices were a bit higher, but quality of the cars were amazing) cause they ship cars interstate daily. When i was buying mine, they were getting another one in & ready to ship for a fellow who lived down in Melbourne. You can get the car inspected for you by a 3rd party(someone living up here or NRMA/RACQ) or you could come up to our lovely state for a bit of a holiday, & search for a car while your here & drive it back down, either way it's probably going to cost you the same if you take into account all the freight fees etc.

yeah i just picked up my stagea and with all mods listed, ecu, boost control, suspension, stero, guages, turbo timer, body kit and so on i got 1k with rating 1 protection from Just Cars. But don't know what things are like with insurance in VIC. Go to www.justcarinsurance.com.au and get an online quote.

gday there, if you want to come to adelaide i have one for sale. it is advertised on carsales.com.au i am asking 18k with 3" exhuast and hybrid intercooler.

let me know,

    • Another vote for installing them and see how you go.  I mean, you already own them, why would you not fit them?
    • I have had too many of those over the years, my cars have a toolkit or at minimum a cheapy multi tool thing because its too easy to be snookered by some stupid plastic clip that stops you checking the battery terminal isn't loose.
    • Basically, if there is a part# on the nissan catalogue, it is a genuine part. There is a thing called "new old stock" which is stuff made years ago but never sold (or landfilled), but it is super hit and miss what you can buy. Other than some expensive Nismo stuff there is nothing new being made that suits these cars. The only time to be a little careful is (mostly in the US I think, but maybe Japan too), Nissan started rebranding some cheap crap maintenance parts like oil filters as "Pitworks"; stay away from them, if you are buying cheap just buy whatever the local car parts shop carries The three part numbers have an explanation on Amayama: 0V005 is auto, base style 0V015 is manual 0V505 is auto, hectic momo branded ones, maximum F&F points there!
    • Just to get this straight if you turn the splined shaft to the outside, it turns freely but the chain does not move? What happens when you move the chain, does the splined shaft turn? Surely the shaft is snapped, or the chain is seized and it took the teeth off whatever great is behind the steel bracket
