ah k.. bit big for me :P

i want some ~5mm ones i think, but then they dont bolt on, and are dodgy.. might just leave it :)

if you got some properly machined spacers, with CBL rings machined in, and put longer than factory wheel studs in, you would be on the money and it'd be totally safe, and more than likely satisfy the cops with a suitable explatnation given as to why you run them, eg rim offset is correct

that said, a lot of cars do run small tolerances between calliper to rim..

Cars are dam expensive man!

Hey Strich9...when I get back in April will have to have that beer for joining the 2k+ club. 4k so far, with another 4.5k next week and then only about 6k more to go :P I think the total over a few months is going to be around 14k or so :D at least it should go well once its finished...until it fries the clutch :D

21k in one month, ad still goin strong :D

Nice! was that including purchasing a car? :D (I like the siggy too)

My brother has a hefty bill coming his way. His car needs a lot of work including head gasket and hoses, thought he'd be cool and "do-a-wheelie" on his 2006 KX250 motocross racing bike and funked the exhaust and some guards, then let his GF drive my dads magna and she punctured the sump on a curb...stupid stupid boy!

  • 4 weeks later...

Well, Ive out done my January efforts during the past month.

Bought a D-Jetro and a PRofec B which I am getting installed and tuned Tuesday 28th :P can't wait...

All up this will put the cost at $2552 including the install of both. I am nowhere near you guys and your $8000 monthly expenses but I don't even get $2500 total wages .

well someone beat 40k+ in 2-3 months not including the car price. just engine build and supporting bolt ons, plus bisltein suspension, r34 brembo brakes, dba rotors, pads, etc etc, etc. :( thats parts only too, zero labour except block/head machining

money pit is all i can say :(

im jealous guys. for the past month or so i have not even been able to put fuel in my gtr and i have had to use my wifes sil instead. i was supposed to be going out to the mines which would have brought my automotive dreams come true but i was let down at the last minute. i am still trying to get out there though so if anyone knows anyone let me know.

i am starting a new job this thursday which should see an extra $350 a week in the hand so after a few bill are up to date i can start working on the cars again .

kermit

Jobs in the mines arent that hard to come by really. The old Fella works for pilbara iron down here in the city and they have just realeased >300 positions ranging from t/a's to top level managers. Sure to find something there. Best way is to send your resume out to the major companies woodside, pilbara iron and bhp ( and a few larger contractors). They all have dedicated recruiting departments who are always very helpful and efficient. The local shires up there are also always looking for labourers etc, taking home over $50 -60 an hour.

Good luck!

Been there, done that - add another 1k to the list for a good clutch ;(

hah yeah already replaced the centre plate previously on my ORC super single, but somehow I dont think it will last with the new gear on...seeing as how it was already starting to slip in 3rd when pushed hard after less than 10,000K

What is a good clutch you would recommend? I have heard a lot of good reports about Jim Berry's clutch upgrades...or was looking to upgrade to the ORC twin plate.

Cheers

JB

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
