I want to get over 200rwkw and im told this setup would come close to it

now im not sure what else to get from here and what computer to get etc

what other parts do i need? and what sort of power am i looking at on this setup before i go to a bigger turbo with manifold etc

apparently ive been told the car is currentley 170kw

ive ran a flat 15.00 at the 1/4 mile in this car as is

what sorta times am i looking at with these new mods?

any help is well appreciated

wait... with those mods you only ran 15s?

get your ecu remapped as the stock r32 ecu is very good, and its cheaper to get it remapped.

are you just gettin the R33 turbo rebuilt or hi-flowed?

a hi-flow will get you past 200, dont think the stock R33 turbo will

ive got a similar set up (r33 turbo, 3" turbo back and pod) and made 170rwkw on 1 bar

200rwkw should be easy with the hi-flow

hey man

ive only got a exhast and fuel pump on the car at the moment

the reast of those mods r sitting at home waiting to be put in all at once :)

when u say hi flowed does that mean steel wheel etc?

also whats the advantages and dis advantages over a ecu remap and spending 1500 on a computer?

Excuse this question... but why are you using an External gate on an internally gated turbo?

 was thinking the same thing???

you can run a screamer on a internal gate turbo if thats all your after :)

PFC is going to be your best after market plug in ECU and your looking at about $1400 with commander for the AP ENgineered version.

Great ECU and if the tuner you go to has experince then they are pretty easy to use as well.

Your other option as already mentioned is to get the stock ECU remapped by someone like Dr Drift aka Sam Cornwell.

www.dr-drift.com

The results he gets from a remapped ECU is AWESOME and worth every $ if you ask me.

WIth your minimal mods with the soon to be set up i would look at the ECU remap and maybe spend some money on handling, oil cooler or braking as they are all crytical parts as well but often overlooked!!!!

Cheers B

gtr fuel pump + 4 inch exhaust does not = 170rwkw on rb20det.

15.0 1/4 pass proves that.

rebuilt to stock r33 turbo will be good for close to 190rwkw with about 1 bar boost.

Q45 afm will not work with stock ecu.

external gate for sound = wanker

did I miss anything?

....external gate for sound = wanker

Im going to go ahead and fly the birdie

External gates are the only thing that make RB20s sound interesting :(

And an external gate with a R33 turbo, with a Q45 AFM...seriously i fyou have bought all this gear ont he advise of your mechanic then find another mechanic.

If you bought it after researching the mods you thought you needed...fair enough, but you have spent money in the wron places. Its easy to make power you are after, but the road you have taken is kinda confusing.

Good luck with it though

    • Hang on. Let me get this straight. The desire is to have coilovers, BC in particular, to be MORE comfortable on Sydney roads than stock suspension? Well, that's obviously not right. BCs have crude damping design at the very best, and typically hard spring rates. BC stands for Billy Cart. And then, the desire is to put in some shitty old worn out stockers, to get it blue slipped and then put the BCs back in? And then.....what? Not worry about getting pulled up by the Plod? Because you seem to have raised a worry about paying for engineering (which actually does solve all your legality problems) and still getting pulled up.... but the only problem there is that if/when that happens you have to show your paperwork at the inspection station. Whereas, if you just swap in borrowed shitty old stockers to get it slipped now, and then you get defected in the future, you have to go find more shitty old stockers then too. You course of action looks like this set of options: Buy brand new stock type dampers, and springs. probably cost a bit more than $1k all up, but will last for the remaining life of the car. Put them in, pass inspection, drive on them forever more. Hell, they could even be really nice Bilsteins and Kings or other lower&stiffer springs if you wanted. Get the car engineered as is. ~$1k. Buy new Shockworks coilvers (or MCA) and also pay for engineering. You're spending a lot more here. But these will be the best things that you could drive around on.
    • Might be worthwhile hitting up Facebook's groups, I know most of them contain terrible people and scammers - however you might be able to find someone that's in Sydney with factory suspension you could purchase and/or hire. Just do not send any form of money anywhere, in person cash only.
    • Thanks @Duncan Ride height is fine. I think it's almost stock tbh. Happy to share a pic. I don't actually have a regular mechanic as haven't lived in Sydney too long. Could you or anyone recommend any shops in Sydney?
    • You just need a different blue slip shop (preferably one you regularly use as a mechanic), and make sure the coil overs are as close as possible to standard height
    • yeah the sugar refining companies were pushing for the same in Oz originally, all fuels were going to have 10% ethanol to make them "cheaper" (noting, that the loss in l/100 might be greater than the decrease in price). I guess they won that fight in Canadia
