Hey all,

I just put a new battery in my car and now it goes a lot harder. Definitely noticebale, no doubt about it.

I'm just wondering if a battery can make such a difference. I've got an Apexi Turbo Timer (pen style), and it used to read volts around 12.5-13.0. Now it's reading more like 13.5

Could that explain it?

I'm also worried, as my Apexi timer shows the air:fuel ratio as hitting 20.0 if I go WOT then back of the gas completely for a few seconds. Is this normal, or does it mean I'm running lean? On WOT, the air:fuel ratio hangs around 10 to 11.

Thanks.

If the old battery was faulty, it would always be getting charged by the alternator. The alternator would be putting load on the engine, so with the new battery, the load on the engine from the alternator is less, so more power.

Lean afr's when you close the throttle is normal. With a closed throttle the ecu cuts the fuel injectors, so there is no fuel so you get lean afr's, nothing to worry about.
