Guys I was talking to some people in QLD transport (and my mum) and they told me of website theat has been setup for feedback on road users esp the younger drivers.

They are seriously wanting this feedback as they will be having a road safety summit soon. All suggestions are welcome and will be taken seriously even the police trainers are encouraging feedback. This is your chance to have a say to keep auto sport and training centres open.

this is the site I seriously urge people to fill this out with constructive help as this is a summit to make the roads better for you.

Looks like they totally missed the point yet again.. I don't really see the point -- as no doubt they'll implement nearly all of those to be seen to be doing something, whether they are a good idea or not, simply as some Government commitee has drafted the paper... and in 2-3 years they'll be wondering why it has not made any change whatsoever.

Most of those things have been implemented in NSW and VIC for nearly a decade, and the road toll has hardly gone down noticeably in those states for younger drivers per population, etc in proportion to QLD.

How about making licenses more difficult to get by having a multistage testing process, and totally revising the testing process to include things like skid pan training, braking, collision avoidance, etc?? So that people can actually become better drivers?

pointless.. they've clearly already made their mind up of what they want to do in that paper .. even though nearly all of those points have been trialed in 2+ states for 10+ years with no difference.

the "community consultation" is merely so they don't get whinged at for not consulting anybody. They couldn't really give two shits what the young people think as they are not the ones screaming "oh my all these young people are dying". Who is actually saying that? Its 40+ year olds, and they are those who run this country, and they're the ones making the decisions ...

But with the public outcry atm of the amount of damage done on the roads Beattie has called this summit asking for all parties to bring suggestions to the table. I say make a difference rather than complain make the parties aware of it. They have set this up asking for suggestions why not give them all the suggestions we can rather than complain when another raceway is closed

I filled it out, answered as many of the questions with good sugestions, kept out any hate etc. (other than towards drink and drug drivers)

And Im also planing on going to the forum and making myself well and truly heard.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
