hey guys wondering if yous could help me,

i own a 33 gtst , mods include fmic, pod, turboback exhaust. runnin on low boost 5psi (seemed to have lost a few psi with fmic installation)

Car is fine when you start it in the morning, however before the temperature gets half way, if i rev it in idle, or change gear in high rev, the car will begin to shake real bad and sometimes stall and the engine note changes ( sounds like a v8 just bubbling real loud), its not a big issue since obviosuly you dont rev turbo cars when cold even though it shouldnt do that, however at any time even after driving for a while, my car dosent seem to like being reved past say 4 rpm. The minute i give full throttle in any gear once it hits bout 3rpm it will start sort bunnyhopping abit, then be fine till about 4rpm, then from then on it starts bumping and sounds more and more unhealthy the higher i go. Not sure what it is, but its been happening for a while, thought it could be the coil packs? thats why its stalling if i rev to high in the morning, if not that maybe something to do with the ecu? someone even mentioned i should go for a aftermarket fuel pump? havent worked out the problem yet but some feedback would be great, most cars dont have trouble hitting 5/6 rpm even redline if you want. but my car really struggles to get to 6rpm even with full pedal down, it will do it occasionly if i slowly ( i mean really slowly push accelerator forward. It will if any only slightly increases over 5rpm and wont go any higher.

sorry bout the essay guys lol

thanks alot much appreciated

oh also forgot to mention, if you change gear over bout 3rpm in the morning after that bubbly engine note comes on, it goes away once the temperature hits almost half, you gotta change gears at like 1 1/2rpm to prevent it stalling. ONce temp is almost half then sound goes away. and i can drive normally

There are heaps of things that could cause these symptoms mate, and without seeing, hearing and taking for a drive it would be almost impossible to work out. I'd take it to a reputable workshop who can diagnose the problems.....

Well i dont know if I can be of much help... But I can tell you my story

But i had the same problem, and also had some mis-firing over 5000rpm in 2nd gear. I noticed it most after getting my car washed a couple of times - god knows why, I still dont know to this day.

SO - I re-gapped my plugs to 0.7mm, and cleaned up my coil packs (cleaned the outside of them as they had some crap on there) and this seemed to rectify the misfiring issue, but in the mornings I still get the spluttering when boost comes on.

I find that if i turn the car on, and drive away within 2-3 mins, it will splutter from about 0.5bar (7psi) onwards. But if i keep it under 0.5 bar for the first couple of changes, then all is sweet after that - i can run through to 1bar (14psi) with no spluttering/misfiring. It's almost like I have to warm the whole system up before being able to reach higher boost or something??? This does obviously make sense, but im lost as to the reason for spluttering

I have just accepted the fact that my car doesn't like being thrashed before it's warmed up properly, and thats that! It's definitely better for the engine to keep it under 3000rpm for the first few gear changes anyway, so I havent bothered going any further than this!

I hope this has given you some insight into what your issue may be. Let me know if you find any resolution for this :D

Yeh very similar to mine, car is fine up to 5psi, once it push more, it'l start to jerk, ive recently boosted it up to about 9/10psi and soon as it hits bout 6 it dosent like it. However today i filled up with shell optimax and it ran alrite, i was hittin 10psi with no jerking, so i though for some unknown reason it didnt like mobil petrol. However after a while it begin playin up again, in most cases jerking but sometimes accepting over 5psi. Anyways il definetely try cleaning coil packs as its probably why i cant change gear in mid/high rpm until temperature reaches half. Never taken my car to a workshop before, my old mans a is a mechanic/does skyline compliances and even hes clueless. Thanks heaps hope it helps. il let you know

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
