Anyways Adrian

i dont know if you are having a bitch or talking good

ill let my car do the talking

Bitching mainly, just NOT about you or your car. There are some pretenders on this forum/thread. Sift through the BS and you'll be right.

Good luck with the rear end at the track - I'll be there cheering the 10's!

Adrian

Yep I agree, let the car do the talking

Awesome to see a workshop pushing a good old RB25 to the limits though, I know If I owned a workshop I probably would of done the same ... RB25 POWAH :(

yay for the good ol understated rb25 :PBJ:

Adrian

does your car select gears when your racing. i mean do they go in smooth as mine wont go in.

For me to shift i needa shift at 6500

how do u fix this problem other then upgrading to a different box

is it something to do with oil or syncros etc

Always - want the low-down? Gimme a call and I'll pay you a visit. I wanna see this thing in the flesh! :(

Changed fuel to c16

I gained 26 Hp without fine tuning so i can say there is a majour difference

I will be taking the car to powercruise so if people wish to have a look at the car they are more then welcome.

i am going to mainly be crusing round and might give drifting a go with this package but i dont think its to drift friendly

lol

NICE WORK all keyboard warriors told me my engine was gonna blow with 301 rwkw but a yr later its still fine and i thrash it daily...JMS are makin 360 kw on a standard rb25 and drift em..keep pushin it till it blows....

I will Champ Dont worry

I am gonna run it like this for a while then im going to pump the boost up to 24 psi

i am going to post some photos on the car and want to ask if i can post a video as well

where do i do this

You really have to admire the japs. to build engines that can take that much power out of a stock bottom end for that long....damn i respect them. THe RBs, the SRs.....they really know their s#!t. weve all been brought up in a country where V8s think there king s#!t, yet imports have come along where you can pull out even more street power from about half the capacity.

Im not old enough yet to help annihilate V8ers on the stip or the track, but please, for those who can, continue to do so, your my F&*@en absolute idols.

plus what engine really does sound better than an RB? i doubt theres any comparison

Man, all the best for your RB, im sure it could hold out for a rip down the quarter.

And christ.....stop abusin people for the power that theyre makin, just cause you havent seen it in the flesh...must be frustratin for the person thats got to put up with it all.

Cheers

Easy to tell..... go to the track... if you run faster than 138mph, that will indicate the power, and shut people up...... however run like 122mph and watch the flaming!!!

Personally i'm calling shennanigans on the 500rwhp @ 18psi with a 35/40. no doubt the turbo can support the power.... but not at that boost level.

But hey stranger things have happened!! good luck at the track!

You can see its running 18psi on the dyno sheet and as for 138 mph i dont think so

maybe 132mph

Update

Finding that Optimax fuel is pretty shit

getting good then bad runs when refilling with optimax

i run just BP now and have no problems

or Vortex 98

i am going to try to run the MOBIL 1 High Performance fuel

see any difference

So far to date i have pushed 502 hp on bp 98 fuel

all fuels have been done on the same tune

apart from c16 which i modified and fined tuned

which i made 528 HP at the wheels

Not bad for the standard motor

i am taking the car powercruise and will be giving it all its got there

and if it lasts which i get some slicks i will take it to eastern creek

Wasnt this thread to try and establish who is getting big hp out of a standard engine and what the max is ?

Its turned into a wank fest.

I have a 35/40 going on a 25 with stock bottom end and im willing to bet she will pop very soon.

Only because it has been very poorly treated from drifting and playing tennis off the rev limiter.

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
