JET-33
does any1 have actual facts and data on these 2 fuels to point out which one is actually better for the ol line? any opinions people? and no i dont like bp cos my mate had it and his car pinged to the s**thouse on the dyno, so it was drained and replaced with optimax and no problems.... Silver-Arrowz
From memory there wasn't much difference with the octane levels as all were about the 98RON mark. However there was some other chemical which was higher in Optimax and wasn't a good thing. Zman
Anyone tried Evolution? Its for sale at the Seven Eleven next to bankstown airport. It's 98 Octane too and claims its "100% PERFORMANCE" :uh-huh: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/10710-optimax-or-synergy-8000/#findComment-173212 Share on other sites
franks
neither - BP ultimate. If i had to choose though, it'd be Synergy8000 over Optimax. The only petrol which doesnt make my car's check engine light come on in 4th gear under high load is BP Ultimate, granted the PowerFC was tuned with Ultimate, when Optimax is in the check engine starts to flash in high 3rd, low 4th. Synergy has slightly more tolerance over Optimax... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/10710-optimax-or-synergy-8000/#findComment-173247 Share on other sites
HoeTrain
Running the car recently with a gas analyser attached produced a surprising result. Optimax has changed chemical composition replacing vital Carbo's with crap, I think the best one to use at the moment is Moble's new 98'. It was allot better than the optimax and had no nasty "solvents"... 400HP
neither - BP ultimate. If i had to choose though, it'd be Synergy8000 over Optimax. Ditto. With Ultimate I definite get more K's outta my car. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/10710-optimax-or-synergy-8000/#findComment-173269 Share on other sites
HoeTrain
BP, I have not tried yet although when I do I'll let you guys know the results. Cheers. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/10710-optimax-or-synergy-8000/#findComment-173293 Share on other sites
alistern
I'd go BP Ultimate, I don't get many more km over vortex(ampol) but it runs a lot smoother. I only tried optimax once and it felt like the time I put 91 ron in the car. nissaner
OMG vortex was SHITHOUSE..!!!!!!! i HAD to use it on the way to dragcombat last year... (coz my petrol warning light was on for about 10mins and i didn't know if there were any petrol stations near by except that caltex i went to...) "Check engine" light came on even with slightest right foot stepping... try not putting vortex in ur lovely lines... funkymonkey
yeah vortex is normal fuel with chemical additives to keep your engine clean... that is if you don't have a performance car...
