Yesterday night after all the rain in Victoria I had an accident in my R32 GTR. I want to know how expensive it will be to fix it up.

I hit a high gutter when spinning out on a huge corner on a nice road. The high gutter dinted and cracked my mag wheel as shown in the picture below. The mag is a 17" Advan Racing brand, which I haven't seen for sale in Melbourne anywhere.

Can this problem be fixed?

Where should I take it to?

If it cannot be fixed where could I get another mag like this?

They're the same as my rims (But mine are white!).

They are Advan RG's and you can get them from N1 Service Factory.

When I got them a couple of years ago they were about $1000 a rim from there but you can probably get them heaps cheaper now. You may be able to get them from somewhere else so I'll ask around and find out who else stocks them.

I think this is the number: 03 95439330

Is it actually cracked? I had a big ass buckle in my AVS Model 5 rim that was bent the lower, and frontmupper arm as well. I hit the gutter damn hard.

A place in Sydney was able to fix my rim. I think the cleaned up the buckle then welded/machined it. LOL i also buckled my 3 pce Volks which were re-rolled and fixed.

So they can fix them, best ring around a few places, if you can find a plac talk to a few wheel shops, they will be able to give you the name of a few places.

My wheels even balanced up well after the repairs...so best of luck, the Advans are a hell cool wheel

There is a small crack only about 3cm you can only just see it in that enlarged photo.

Hmm, crack? Doesnt sound good, but still, its aluminium and they may be able to goiuge out the crack and weld it up. I would defo try ringing around....my main problem with the rim i had repaired was the colour didnt quite match the other 3, so ended up getting them all resprayed

i had the same problem when i guttered my civic with TE37 on it. I looked everywhere for a replcement but i had no chance, i got the rim repaired from a mate of mine who is an alloy repairer. then basically painted it agian at my old mans panel shop and she looks miky mouse :P

I had a small on my Advans from a gutter and took them to Advanced Alloy Repairs in Moorabbin. It was $100 to fix the rim.

The rim wasn't buckled though, just chips from parking to close to a kerb.

They are really good, I would recommend them to anyone. Advanced Alloy Repairs number is: 9555 1333

The Mag cannot be repaired, Advanced Alloys said "Throw that away, don't even bother bringing it down if it has a crack in the front". My mechanic said his Mag specialist cannot fix it either. So it looks like I'm up for a new gold Advan RG 17" 245mm, or second hand.

Let me know if anyone sees a cheap Advan RG going around.

The rest of the repairs are:

two ball joints $345, full alignment front and rear $250, two new tyres $185ea, plus a MAG wheel which I'm looking for. At least nothing underneath was seriously broken, but still an expensive day on the road ;).

pfft sif, are you serious ... those guys got to fix one of my mrs' rims,

got it back, looked at it, and it was totally the wrong color ... the rims were metalic, and when they resprayed it, wasnt even metallic anymore, fkn morons ...

UPDATE!

So far I've talked to many people about finding a replacement mag with specs:

Yokohoma Advan RG 17" x 9.5" GTR offset, Gold

and it seems impossible. I've still got a few people looking out for me.

Currently my car is still at the mechanics and I'm going to get some R33 GTR 17" mags when I find some for sale. Usually their are heaps of them but I cannot find any out there at the moment and I've also got my mechanic looking as well.

I'm still going to look around for a spare Advan, but this will give me time.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
