great day

well done Mark!

I think theo needs to finnaly ditch his tires or hes going to struggle.

my understanding is theos car was making even more power this weekend with the modified t88 38gk. but obviously traction was a problem.

also well done to WILLO R34 GTR now under marks guidance running a new pb. 11.9

gettting there now well done!

Mark what times was Theo doing and did the milenium supra race?

congrats on the 60ft too thats amazing

regretfully the only thing millenium are doing with that car is polishing it.

it dissapoints me to no end to see a car of the callibre being a show pony. sat there all day with the other millenium cars being polished.

Particurly that Millenium was a decent sponsor of the day - and a sponsor of one of the classess...

last time it ran was last years jambo 10.0 @ 155mph i think?

Nice to meet you Adrian, here's a pic Neil grabbed for you...

RE: Driveshafts. Had spares, no compulsion to relieve my car of them however. Can't imagine why...

I've never driven a track that well prepared before. Flat out tore the pinion out of Rob Barac's diff! Now if I can just replicate that .003 light, 1.66 60' and 118.92mph all in one run i'll be stoked!

Thanks for the offer of the shafts though :O

Adrian

adrain i do my shit my way not yours so keep your comments to yourself. had plenty of drive shafts in the truck so what is your problem. If you have a problem with me just ring 0418742486 talk soon

Listen here pal - You don't know me from a bar of soap and I really don't care if I caught you in a foul mood or not but you were a rude prick when I said g'day to you and tried to have a bit of a joke at the start of the day.

I'm in this for the fun and comradeship to be had from drag racing not to be told to wake up to myself by a bad sport.

Thanks for the advice but with the way you carried on on Saturday, I'll say just what I want.

Adrian

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, especially if its first hand experience!!!

Adrian, it would be good to see all those numbers come together, however, this is drag racing and there are so many variables!!!

I will continue to watch with interest. I do have to say that being around the sport since I was 5, the reasons for being in it are purely what you have states already!!!!

But there is a bit of competitiveness but this is never before mateship and fun!!!!

Cheers

Neill

people like to hate the best, theo has been at the top of sport rwd for a while now. we should respect that.

just because mark j is now a fierce competitor it doesnt mean every sheep should follow and join the hate gang.

ive rang theo before and he offered help to me as has mark, i dont know either particurly well.

I'd imagine its probably the way you conduct yourself adrian???

on with the topic - hey GTAUTO - i see you are reading this thread.

saw the R33GTR going well early in the day. sounded and looked awesome.

what times did you come away with?

didnt see you in teh later half of the day was there problems?

We met Adrian last year at Jamboree when he was in a pretty bad mood after circumstances surrounding the event, and he was never un approachable or rude when we saw him at various times during the day.

So I really doubt it was the way Adrian conducted himself..

I crewed for Adrian all day and I'll tell you now his conduct is 100% all day and a pleasure to crew with. Ive been around drag racing for 20+ years and its guys/cars like Adrian/2RISMO that make the sport. :D

Not ever being one to add fuel to the fire....Ive had many a lengthy phone discussion with Theo and he has always been very helpful and friendly with advice etc....but......

Last year at Jambo Theo, i came and introduced myself to you and you were a rude and arrogant prick so ill go along with what has been said here.

Mate a friendly demeanour goes a long way, I may have caught you at a bad moment so i came to your pit later and saw no change in your attitude towards myself and others. I don't know, maybe your personality cannot handle the stress that is competitive racing.

And Mick if its people who carry on like that, that make the sport its not one id like to be a part of. Take Joe Signorelli for example one of the most approachable guys ive ever met. I could go on...Kier Wilson, John Munro, Rob Barac, Mark Jacobsen etc....

For sure-a friendly drag racer is a cool drag racer-another example is Dom Rigoli who had a grin from ear to ear all day and even when he had a few car troubles he would laugh it off and crack jokes about it. ditto Rob Barac who broke on his first run but you would not know it-he was very friendly and couldnt do enough fur us on the day. Same goes for the Hardcore racing boys who lent us a spare full NOS bottle and simple said dont worry bout money yet just go out and cut a PB. This is the reason I'm back in drag racing and no longer in V8 supercar or should that be V8 superstar!!!

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
    • Not yet quite as bad as what we've seen a Jim Berry clutch do in an R32 GTR though when it decided to cut a chassis rail in half... Still very very gnarly and a great reason to avoid.
