Well i dont wish to rain on your parade...

Considering that you can buy brand new GTSS turbos with all gaskets etc as a kit for 2800 off nengun.com and a 2530 turbo kit for the same price (without actuators), with all gaskets same case etc delivered, some people might not think its worth the gamble on paying 2k for used turbos and then spending another 300 bucks on gaskets.. levelling it to $2300.

The pain with nengun.com being the 1-2month wait.

I think your price is reasonable, personally id be willing to pay $1500 for the 2 and maybe 2k as a MAX for a used set. Its prob hard to compete on the forums when a few other guys are selling new rebuilt ones for your asking price (highflowed and nismo ones).

Then again its of opinion.

I have posted up a dyno sheet of 371rwkw with my 2530's, I have yet to see GTSS's come close to that, I dont think you can compare those 2. Pretty sure Dirt Garage ran a very low 10 with 2530's, and I know that Mine's prefers them.

Last week I drove an R33 GTR of a freinds who runs GTSS's, it makes 250rwkw, my S15 was quicker, but thanks for the input anyway.

Like I said I have just got an R34 GTR, I would rather fit them to that than sell them for less than they are worth. Your correct about second hand, but you can always check with Nigel (Racingline) to clarify the condition.

The reason I am, holding back on fitting them to the 34 is past experience, I just know I'm going to fit a T88H-38GK to it one day, I dont want to pay labour costs twice like I have before, but its an option.

cheers

Ahh..k, well I just made 264RW KW on friday on my gtr with stock dumps, stock turbos and the rest of a hks exhaust (front pipe, highflow cat + catback @ 3.5inch) @ 14psi.

Dno whats happenin with your mates gtr...

I believe the GTSS's will definately get you over 300 rear wheel kw.

Obviously they wont reach 2530 standards of power being 30hp or so less in flow per turbo (going by garretts specifications) but theyll prob cop 50kw less with more response. Depends what you want at the end of the day.

Anyway having previously owned a doneup s13, i dont think the GTR will ever feel as fast as the feel of a silvia based car or similiar. You just know your gtr is faster when you passively munch people off the line lol.

- But back to the topic, someone buy this guys turbos lol. - free bump.

Ok a noob question. :)

Are the 2530s the older version of the GTRS?

Yeah your mate's GTR with the GTSS making 250rwkw is definitely having some issues. Unless he is running on like 7psi or something. My gtr makes 265rwkw on stock turbos already.

Sloutch, there's dyno sheets, then there's dyno sheets. I have a Dyno sheet from a well respected tuner on this forum that shows my GTR making 378rwkw with 2530's, standard pump, standard airflow meters, 660cc inj, standard cams, on Shootout mode.

He then switched to his regular set up which gave an accurate figure of 331rwkw, runs done 5 minutes apart.

When the car was dynoed at Ice Performance, it registered 280rwkw, although the boost controller was off. After cams, Z32 AFM, Tomei fuel pump the car made 358rwkw, with further tuning it got to 371rwkw.

I wouldnt be surprised if it made 400+rwkw in Shootout mode.

I will not post the first 2 dyno sheets up because this guy is so well respected on here I would get shot down by everyone.

So Sloutch, is your dyno sheet in Shoot out mode ???? Who's dyno ?

?????? Please read the post extra extra CAREFULLY.

i'm not doubting your turbos can make 378rwkw.

i was just wondering howcome your mate's GTR with GTSS turbos only makes 250rwkw as quoted from you, that's all. So were you trying to say that people spend about $3,000 to buy and install a pair of GTSS to make less power than stock turbos?

I dynoed mine at Chasers with 14psi on 265rwkw. Anyway, good luck with the sale. These 2530s are good turbos for people who wants good response.

  • 1 year later...

This thread is over a year old, well from its last responce.. and your comparison is a bit off.. his selling 2530's not GT-SS

http://www.nengun.com/hks/turbo-kit-gt2530-gtr

GT2530's from nengun are $4920 excluding local customs and taxes

    • Thank you, 100% the intent. New coils were due and the 17" sixers look/feel loads better than the stock wheels. The aero options are so spot on.   Thanks for the warm welcome, all!
    • 98 r34 gtt Been rocking my latest setup and car running like never before. Have put a good 200 miles on it since all the latest changes and additions. everything is dialed in and have been driving it a bunch.   However, all a sudden last weekend as soon as I pushed throttle passed 4k and the engine stumbles, (slow or fast acceleration) hesitates and doesn’t go above 4100 or so, like a misfire. Everything else seems fine. I had a “good” set of coil packs that I removed from car when I first got it when I changed them over to new coils. I swapped out current ones for those, but no change. I also changed the plugs, no change. Seems to rev over 4 when out of gear with no load just fine no “misfire”, but as soon as its in gear with a load of any kind, it “misfires” as soon as rpm drop back below 4 k it runs perfectly, smooth, starts, restarts and drives fine as long as I keep it below 4 k while in gear. All readings look fine, no CEL   Any idea as to what could all a sudden cause an issue when pushing rpms passed 4 k?
    • When you say your cams are 272/262 is that 272in and 262ex?
    • We're arguing semantics. I am saying 45 accel and a 55 deccel ramp are "2 ways". Even a 45 degree ramp and an 89 degree ramp is "2 ways", because it is literally... two ways. The cusco 55/30 ramp is a 2 way. It's two ways. I get it though - in normal nomenclature a "2 way" would be 45/45 or 55/55 or 60/60 i.e the same locking in both directions. And something like 45/65 would be considered "1.5 way". I would then say if we're getting into the nitty gritty then every locking diff is a "2 way" diff and we should not speak in 1.5, or 2 ways but ramp angles instead. Which ofc if one of those ramp angles is 90deg, that side is not doing any locking. :p So Nismo don't obviously sell 3 things. The fact of the matter that they only sell two items really goes to show that there's a 2 way and a "1,5 way" which is really a 1 way. I believe the actual lockup for the 'adjustability' of the GT pro is really just setting preload for when the ramps actually start locking up. It's not changing how much 'wayness' there is. It is (somehow) horribly explained. People just buy whatever diff and go "locks up good bruh" and that's what ends up on socials forever.
