Need some feedback on a garrett t4 with t3 flange.

inlet: A/R 0.60

Exhaust: A/R 0.84

rated at 600+ hp

Pretty new to all the different types of turbos n their specs. confuse as to what all the nunbers mean. But any of you know anything about this setup.. Looking a extracting the max power of of my stock Neo Rb25det. Hopefully 380rwhp :( the guy told me its a big mutha!!! Wondering if its gona be laggyin heaps? Will i need a high mount or will it fit to the standard underneath?

please do a search on neo turbo upgrades, it has been covered a lot.

the turbocharger upgrade will cost you i would say around 5k at the very least. without any more specs the turbo sounds too large for your power output and will be extra laggy.

you will need

3" turbo back exhaust

aftermarket ecu

aftermarket injectors

cold air intake

front mount intercooler

tyres

suspension

boost controller

airflow meter

standard manifold is ok

i have seen at least two rb25 neo's max out at 250rwkw on those sorta parts due to the extra compression they run (i think thats the cause). so its pointless having a 450rwkw turbo if you can never ever make that power

Yeh currently i've got a 3'' inch turbo back exhaust, intercooler, pod filter + cai. Ive ordered apexi power fc, 650cc injectors, bosch 044, sard regulator, and avc-r.... Waiting for it to arrive is the hard part! Dnt know of any reason to have a z32 meter...i can pretty much control the a/f from the fc huh? Or will it be to much messing around? If the compression ratio is gona give me troubles then i will get a thicker gasket.. Pushing the rb25det to the limits... Any point having a oil cooler...Or is it realli only used for drifting?

curious as to what injectors you've orderded? the only drop in injectors are nismo 480ccs. you can only use larger ones with chaning the fuel rail.

basically they've reported it detonating over 1bar ish on stock neo25 internals. at least it sounded like that, i could be wrong

my only guess is this is due to the different compression they run.

i think you will max out the stock neo25 airflow meter.

so are you still going to buy at 600hp even though you only need 300hp of it?

    • From the factory on RB26s there's a fitting on the intake manifold collector/"plenum" that provides pre-throttle boost signal. That's how they did it back in the day, I figure it's fine to replicate it.
    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?
