hi, i just got my first car, 1994 Skyline R33 (not bad for a 16 year old)

But im not into racing, i just want to make my car like trick. I was thinking of gettin neons put inside the car and having them hooked up to missile switches and prehaps getting a GTR spoiler. Do you guys know where i would get a GTR spoiler and where would be the best place in brisbane to get my neons installed

let me save you from looking back in 6months and you wondering why you would get neons in a car, DO NOT GET NEONS.

Get the car lowered, get some rims. That will make your car more 'trick' then neons on the inside hooked up to a missile switch (vl turbo special).

personal i wouldnt do little things like that to your car. i did all that to my first car and got rid of it after afew weeks.... because for one it ruins the newness of the car and its more shit to break etc etc.

things like the GTR wing would be good moding, make the car look good etc.

with neons youll cop so much shit everywhere you go. you may pull more looks... but not in a good way, except from people under 18... they usualy think things like that are cool... not havin a go at ya... but im just saying usualy only under 18's like the rice factor...

and thats why ya see commo drivers have neons and cromies coz they pegg all the fat 16 year old biatchs...

spend that money on tinted windows, lowering to 11cm etc, the gtr wing etc etc

yea, it was extremely low when i got it. it was actually under the legal limit and i had to get it slightly raised. I also had alot of problems when it was so low as i would hit gutters. But when i learn to get out of driveways without hitting the front bumper ill have it lowered again

I appreciate your honesty though. I don't wonna drive past another skyline and that person think that im a wanker for having neons.

So no ideas on where i'd get a GTR wing in brisbane?

neons = gay

for the wheels try autosol or purplestuff. these two are probably the best metal polishes on the market i use them all the time. oh yeah im a detailer so i have tried heaps of crap and trust me, if you want an awesome finish get purplestuff its expensive but

Looking at the pic, it looks like the clear has come off, and the metal is oxidising now.

The metal polish or equivalent will make that area look nice, but the border between the clear and "no clear" will always be there until you get that rim repainted.

What size tyre is it, and what do you keep it inflated to?

If your tyre is saggy, then it will expand out a little when you drive quickly... which will make the steering feel light. This, and I beleive the 4-wheel steering operates over 70km/hr?

Rear adjustable castor rods ($100-150 on ebay or in trader section) will bring the rest of your tyre back to the ground.

I personally disabled hicas (4 wheel steer) due to wheel scrubbing on the inside of the rears. But its the negitive camber that does most of the damage.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
