My first car was a white HR Holden,

3 on the tree, white blinds on rear windscreen and a bench seat up front. :(

Ah yes, this was my first, 1968 HR column shift. Mine was two tone blue/white (I think I still owe my older brother $200, not sure).

Went through a few others including HT Holden, Mini, Mazda 100 Coupe, Fairmont GS, VH Commodore.

After that came VL Commodore, Aussie Nissan R31 (with same motor) and then R33 GTSt.

Blissfully happy with the R33 now, and glad to have driven different styles of car beforehand.

Enjoy.

My first car was an auto 1976 or 78 Fiat 131 Supermirafori ( spelling? ).

U`s all got nothing , my first car 82(i think) diesel gemini , can still feel the power

Hahaha – yep my 1st car was the 82’ TE Gemini, wasn’t the torque monster like the diesel was. Only mods I did to it was about 4 litres of ‘Kill-Rust’ & a couple of kilo’s of bog in the boot, before going all out and blowing the engine – used more oil than fuel! ;)

Best thing that happened is that some woman in a Camera rear-ended it at like 2Km/hr, & with all the ‘bog’ reinforcement the boot just crumpled. I was more pissed that my hours of toil with the ‘bog’ instalment job had been destroyed. Luckily, she was insured and I got enough $$ to put toward my next vehicle – a 1976 FJ40 short wheel base Landcruiser, an absolute rocket compared to the Gemi!

1971 HG Holden stationwagon. had a bench seat up front with trimatic on the column. had a monster of an engine, 253 (4.2L) V8 running a 2 barrel carbie on a 4 barrel manifold. i could get flames to backfire up the carby, that's how far out the timing was. had dual exhaust pipes and no cats, with shiney tips on the end. i would flog the guts out of it and i still never had any problems with the engine. i went through 5 axels however, they kept 'falling out' around corners, honest.

i tell you what though, wagons aren't just good for carting around heaps of stuff, if you know what i mean :)

it lasted me 3 years, and for an initial investment of only $1000 i think it was great. ended up having an indepth discussion with a concrete pole about who was going to move first...

my first car was a pulsar

i have slowly gone up the ranks to include

hyundai excel

ef falcon

toyota cressida with a lexus V8( which is currently for sale if anyone is interested)

and my current car the family wagon (stagea)

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
