Well i went to Bathurst on the weekend, had to test out my yet unused towbar. trip up was fine, bit awkward having a clunking trailer following me though.

After loading up the trailer with furniture and heading out of town, i get about 50km from bathurst and then an almighty BANG, and the car started to lose control. i swerved all over the road fighting this car with a heavy trailer swerving and kicking around. if there was an oncoming car i would have bought the farm and there'd be a story of a stagea killing heaps of people.

i finally got it under control and pulled over, thinking the trailer had hit something or busted a tyre/axel.

turns out my tyre on the rear left had blown, and in a big way. it was proper f*cked. i turned around on the spare 'emergency' tyre and limped back to bathurst. luckily i had stored my original stock rims at my parents place in bathurst, so i changed the tyres over and drove back thismorning.

I think this is a good reason to get my really bad rear camber fixed up, as the outside of the tyre had almost 100% read left. it feels weird driving around on 16" tyres now, they're so much rmoe comfortable than 18"s

Mmmmmm! Just looking at those tyres you are lucky to just get away with a fright. Maybe the rear camber needs attention before that manual g/box, otherwise your new tyres will be heading off down the same path.

Lucky escape Term!

Good to hear you are safe, and that you didn't have to drive all the way back to Canberra on the space saver, too. Who knows how much extra load the trailer would have put on the space saver, as well.

Close call mate, bet it scared the s#@t out of ya, glad you got out of it unscathed, wear on the inside of tyres is an easy thing to miss.

Might be worthgettin a rear camber kit from the group buy.

Thats just it, i had a rear camber kit installed over a year ago when i got my coilovers and sway bars installed. i'm going around there in the next few days to see what else can be done, as it's becoming a joke with the amount of tyres i'm going through

i'm just going to run around on my stockies until i can get it fixed up

getting the camber fixed next week. i saw what he's going to do on an R33 GTR today, looks the bees knees. means i'll be able to have the car lowered still, and have a trailer with no negative camber.

Undies thrown in for free I hope?

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
    • FYI: Racebox RE7R Custom Tunes Released!   https://goracebox.com/.../2017-infiniti-q50-q60-re7r-tcm...   FOR GEN 2 (21+) VEHICLES, PLEASE SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM See more   But whomever tuned your car is the tuner you should go back to, AMS, Sonictune or BT Tune....
