in my experience ..150+ imported...never seen any of them in person before purchase..using auction sheet only..it depends on the auction house ..some are seller orientated and a COUPLE !!! are buyer biased ..which are the only ones i buy from now

ie. if i ever meet the guy who grades cars at JAA tokyo i`m gonna kick him in the nuts.. :(

it can work for you, but if bidding on-line i would only even personally buy cars 4.5B or better. but dont you have a buyer placing bids for you at the auction house and he is inspecting for you? I didnt mean you personally inspecting them. I have a guy inpsect the cars for me, but if i wanted to i could just bid on the cars based on sheet and pics on-line and have someone collect them for me, that is what i meant by buying without inspecting.

i know what you are talking about beer_baron when i was sourcing my 33 from Japan the people i was getting to source the car said oh we got this immaculate 33 auction grade 4.5 low km's etc etc i was like sounds good go have a look at it. They get back to me and say nope we wont be bidding on this one for you it has some pretty bad rust in under one of the wheel arches ??? now how the fark can that be auction grade 4.5 it pisses me off that they can be so careless at times when dishing out grades for cars :D */end rant*

it depends on the auction house,i`ve seen cars that are graded 4.5 AA at 1 auction reappear at another house graded 3.5 B C ..some are honest graders and some are blatent liars ...it has taken me years to work out which is which not to mention a fair bit of money as well :D

Really?

Check out this '91 GT-R then (grade 3.5!)

As I type this;

5,328.00 USD = 7,175.00 AUD

Even with everything that gets added to FOB price to get in on the road here, that'd still be cheap.

I should have waited, perhaps.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
