best bet would be to ask Department of transport and regional services, as they would have a record of every cefiro imported.

otherwise if ur interested to see how many ceffy owners there are roughly on here, have a look at http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...ow+many+cefiros

try probably just under 200 NOW!

About 4 years ago when i bought mine from steve meggala there was 7 or 8 in victoria including mine and just under 100 in all of aus.

4 years on even though there have been more imported i havnt myself seen a significant difference, maybe about 50 or so more and mostly in qld.

A reason that theres so few is because they were only in production for the last 3 months of 1988 so only cars made in those 3 months are able to be imported under the new rules.

and that will change next neat year any way ..........isnt it changing to a 30 year rule .....somehting like that anyway .......

so u think 200 ......i thought that at first but there are quite a few not on the forums like sau, skydownunder, Ns.com ...etc ....

WTF!

Last I heard it was gradually going to turn into the 30 year rule.. Have noticed quite a few 88 ceffies pop up in Japan. Hopefully the rule is'nt extended for another year or so.

theres about 12 in vic, give or take 1 or 2 because ones been written off another sold to nsw, and because i cant be 100% sure if anymore recently have been brought in.

but aparently word going round is... is that the tomei rb24 featured in hpi is now living in vic not qld...

so watch out 4 a new monster, if he is able to get it registered.

As the mag states it was bought in as a freshly built car.. So it is probable that the pics were taken not long after the car arrived. Dan bought it as a drift car and thats what it was used for :(

would love to have a cruise, photo meet up with those 12 or so ceffys in VIC... very unlikely that we will ever get even say 10 of them in the one spot on at the same time.

really? looks nice in the mag - i was jealous... now i'm humble hehe...

...not the only one with rb24 either...

Hey jarryd i wonder how many laurels there are in aus??

I'd say probably a bit less than 1/2 the number of Ceffy's... So would guess around 100 or so :

My mates running either rb23/24... dunno yet :D GTR crank and rod are all we know atm. Will most likely be rebuit as rb24 soon anyways

heaps in qld but there isnt many in new south wales so id say max 50 per state which is heaps

50 is heaps? Good luck hey.

Id put money on there being more Porka turbos in each state, and they are not common cars.

Common compaired to a piazza turbo tho :D

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
