who is going to be the donar bonnet for the r34 group ? after i get that sorted i will pm all that is interested for the r34 fibreglass bonnet.

Im in sydney btw

Edited by whyte

i'm interested but dont really want to shell out cash up front for a bonnet of unknown quality. I've seen some great glass bonnets and some really shithouse ones. Is there any way i can see a sample of this work? I'm in sydney also.

Ummmm.... I think we are waiting for someone to donate a vented bonnet for a R32. I can see that there is interest but I think it’s a no go if we don't have a bonnet to copy.

that is correct.

whoever donates the bonnet can have 2 bonnets to compensate for it. 1 to put on and 1 to sell or keep as spare :O

i am gathering pics of other bonnets made by the same company as we speak ;)

hello, im back again with pics

he has another shipment coming in a few weeks so when that lands ill have even MORE photos of the bonnets that came in :O

but for now, just gotta do with whats available.

Questions:

1) Is there any guarantee on the quality of these fibreglass bonnets? (thinking about donating stock bonnet for a good cause)

2) How long will it take from donation to receipt of first bonnet? (thinking about donating stock bonnet for a good cause)?

3) Does the donator get installation too? :D

Fark I'm a picky bastard~

installation you can do yourself stan. ahaha

allow 2-3 months (might be a bit longer due to transit time, customs, waiting periods etc)

i will be showing off the 180sx bonnet on my car when it lands so then you can all see the quality :D

ali-turko, if you read my initial post, it stated how long it will take to be completed and you wait until all this time to say you're out cause its too long? i presume you didnt read the post at all mate.

for your information its $550 for a bonnet @ carmate. if you can get it for $500 then go get it mate. no need to ruin it for others.

gday, highly interested for r32-t

when do u think these will be ready and when do u need the money by?

also which design are we sticking with for the r32?

Please PM me thanx mate

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
